    Fish and shrimp combo
    Britney C.

Saw this place featured on a Netflix show and came for lunch during my visit to Savannah. Food is cooked to order so there was a short wait...I ordered the fish and shrimp combo. The shrimp was bomb! The fish was ok. I also ordered the Malika juice which is was just red Kool aid lol, too much sugar for me. I would come back whenever I'm in Savannah for the fried shrimp.

place has been here I know ever since I came to savannah over 10 years ago and never came because it looked small and hard to get to. from what I see all that is still true for my first visit. I would wish they would relocate but who am I to say. anyway I first pulled in and couldn't park because the parking isn't controlled and ppl parked crazy. service is slow and u have to scream thru a small box to place ur order.. as so far as the food I'm still wondering what salaam beef means and Malika means for the juice. food quality is good not great. burger served on regular wheat bread. food not seasoned like I thought should fish should be. I saw this restaurant on Netflix and had to try it.

Gotta get the Shabazz Fish Supreme Combo

Saw this establishment on Fresh, Fried and Crispy on Netflix so I had to stop by and try the food. The Shabazz Fish Supreme Combo was ridiculously good. The side of fries was nice and fresh and the punch was very good. The customer service was very nice, the owner even gave my daughter an ice cream cone . The exterior of the building really gives the small local business appeal. With how busy it was though, it would make more sense if they open up a second window for pickup while the other window can be for orders.

I was greeted by a friendly lady at the window. It was my first time and she was patient with me. I ordered fish and it was great. I would go again next time I am in Savannah. Huge portions and I had leftovers.

My husband wanted to visit this restaurant because he saw it on Netflix. And the guy on Netflix did a great job making it seem as if this were the place to eat! The first thing my husband said was it looked cleaner on tv. I told him I'm sure it did because they prolly cleaned it up for tv. Anywho, the food was very expensive to me for the amount of food that you get. My son and I ordered fried shrimp dinner and for the price I thought we would've gotten jumbo shrimp. The shrimp was very small. My daughter ordered the sandwich that we saw on tv. It was actually pretty good. My husband got the fish dinner. He seemed to enjoy it. All of us ordered fries and all of our fries were cold. Ummm I'm not sure that I'd eat here again after traveling from Atlanta. I would hope that because it was on Netflix that the business would do a better job of making sure customers receive the experience that we saw on tv.

I saw this restaurant on Fresh, Fried and Crispy and I wanted to try it. I'm from Chicago and since my visit here I have been underwhelmed with a lot of the food. We came around 2pm and it wasn't busy. I ordered the fish sandwich meal and it didn't disappoint. It reminds me of a place in Chicago called Dock's. I was really happy that it came with some red kool-aid. If it wasn't kool-aid it tasted like it. My only complaint was the I didn't have enough drink to wash it down.

Best damn fish sandwich I've had in a long time. Well worth stopping on our way to Jekyll Island. The juice was refreshing and and the fries were hot, fresh, and delicious. The Shabazz was shabangin! Definitely coming back

Our Uber driver highly recommended Sorry Charlie's, so we decided to give it a try. Our first visit was genuinely pleasant, which is why we came back. However, our second visit was ruined by an encounter with the manager. This person was extremely rude and dismissive--I'm genuinely shocked she works in the service industry. We arrived for dinner and were told there would be a 10-20 minute wait, which we agreed to. After approximately 20 minutes, the manager stormed across the restaurant and yelled at us as if we were children, demanding we not stand by the hostess stand. We had never been instructed to wait elsewhere. My wife reacted as anyone would have and expressed her frustration. The manager then escalated the situation, exchanged words with us, and ultimately kicked us out while threatening to call the police. Hoping to resolve things professionally, I returned the next morning to have a mature conversation about the incident. The manager's response was condescending: "You guys are brave coming back in here." This unprofessional comment from management spoke volumes. The food quality is excellent and the staff is great, but this manager is a significant problem. She is unsuited for customer service and needs to find work elsewhere.

Been here for both dinner and lunch. All this said, I think my approach to this review is comprehensive. With regard to food, I think they have a decent (not expansive) selection of food, which I think lends itself to quality. They do most things really well. This said, I do think there is inconsistency based on staff at the restaurant. On one occasion they have accommodated a request, and on another I was denied the exact same request. I found this frustrating. On one occasion I've also seen management talk down to staff here, which is a big no no for me. All people (especially staff) are due respect and this rubbed me the wrong way. This was an isolated incident but it definitely made my dining experience uncomfortable. Especially because I was getting excellent service from the server!!! I've always had quality service from servers here. In the future, I would come to Rhett for convenience as a hotel guest (the hotel is lovely), but would likely not spend my money if I wasn't staying at the hotel. Overall- it's good food, decent ambiance... but there are soooo many good options in Savannah. You have to be exceptional to stand out in that city.

That search led me to The Olde Pink House--a magnificent historic mansion dating back to 1771, now home to one of Savannah's most memorable restaurants. The décor is beautiful, with antique furnishings, fireplaces, elegant woodwork, chandeliers, and enough historical character to make any ghost hunter feel immediately at home. The building is surprisingly large, with numerous dining rooms, each decorated and arranged differently. Exploring it feels almost like wandering through a well-preserved haunted mansion--though thankfully, the staff were much friendlier than the ghosts I had recently captured. The food was excellent, and everyone in our party enjoyed what they ordered. I'm not usually much of a beer drinker, but I tried the Hostess City, a craft beer brewed exclusively for The Olde Pink House, and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Our server was wonderful, and we were even able to exchange ghost stories with them. We all had a good laugh, although I'm fairly certain one of the portraits nearby was laughing along with us. We arrived dressed entirely in black, and not a single person batted an eye. In Savannah, this is apparently considered perfectly respectable evening attire--or perhaps everyone simply assumed we were attending a funeral for one of the restless dead. After dinner, we asked whether we could explore the other sections of the restaurant, and we were told it would be no problem. We were able to visit the different dining rooms and examine the antiques and objects respectfully without disturbing the other guests. Be sure to visit the bar downstairs, Planters Tavern. It has a wonderfully haunted atmosphere, with brick walls, old-world décor, and a beautiful fireplace that must be especially inviting during the winter months. The basement's fireplaces were reportedly part of the home's original kitchen, which only adds to the feeling that the room remembers far more than it lets on. The Olde Pink House offers excellent food, beautiful surroundings, friendly service, and just enough supernatural atmosphere to keep a ghost hunter interested. I arrived looking for somewhere to recover from the night's haunting. I left well fed, pleasantly spirits-laden, and only mildly concerned that one of the ghosts may have followed me home.

Sitting along the river while watching massive cargo ships slowly make their way toward the Atlantic creates one of those uniquely Savannah experiences you simply can't find anywhere else. Our server, Matthew, was outstanding. Friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely made the evening even more enjoyable. Service like his is a big part of what turns a great meal into an unforgettable one. Now, the food... The crab cake was one of the best I've ever had--easily 95% lump crab with barely any filler. Just fresh, sweet crab prepared perfectly. The beef carpaccio was elegant, incredibly flavorful, and disappeared far too quickly. Then came the French onion soup. There's a reason the National Onion Association recognized it as the best. Rich, deeply caramelized, perfectly balanced, and topped with a blanket of bubbling cheese. Without question, the best French onion soup I've ever had. The black truffle scallops were buttery, tender, and absolutely decadent. The evening's special--a blackened filet paired with shrimp linguine--was phenomenal. The filet was cooked to perfection, and the shrimp linguine brought bold Cajun flavors that made us feel like we had been transported straight to Louisiana. To finish it all off, watching enormous cargo ships leave the Port of Savannah bound for destinations around the world while enjoying an incredible meal is an experience all its own. Vic's on the River delivered on every level: exceptional food, first-class service, and an atmosphere that's impossible to duplicate. This wasn't just another dinner--it was one of the highlights of our trip to Savannah. Don't leave without ordering the French onion soup.
