For starters I haven't bought a car yet, and theres a reason I've decided to not buy it here anymore. Noah on the sales team was amazing, very kind, very helpful, and he was willing to answer all of our questions and didn't pressure us to do anything we weren't 100% about. I said No about one thing and he said okie and that was it and said he would keep in contact about other cars of the same one i was looking at, and walked us to the door and thanked us for coming - he did keep in touch - I inquired about another car of the one I was wanting, but Noah was unavailable the day I had time to come look at it. He is the only reason for the 3 stars. However the girl who helped us in Noah's absence. Ashley on the sales team, she seemed nice enough at first, however she didn't bother to ask anybody their names. She didn't let me finish my phone call as I was waiting on her to come back, I had received one and answered, she interrupted it and said lets go no consideration for my being on the phone and just started walking away. She was pretty rude after I told her the numbers I was looking at and she came back and said "people who cant afford Xtype of carX typically go with those cheaper smaller options. " I told her very specifically what I was wanting. As I did with Noah. But she kept pressing about every other type of car on the lot they had. I came in knowing what I wanted already. She asked me if i wanted to run my credit and see what the numbers are for cars i wasnt even looking at or had even test drove or saw the inside or history on. I told her no, thats okie, i only wanna run it if I'm absolutely sure about buying something. And then proceeded to ask me at least 6-7x more during the interaction after I repeatedly told her no. It made me very uncomfortable and felt like all she wanted was to sell a car and didn't matter what one, didn't matter what I wanted. She was very inconsiderate telling me "lease it and then buy it, that's what smart people do". Thats kind of rude in my opinion, are you saying because i would rather finance my vehicle I'm not smart? I'm sorry but that is my decision not yours? She should not be selling people cars if she can't listen to what the customer is wanting, and can't take no for an answer when we are visibly uncomfortable. She didn't even bother to walk us out, or let us take the unsigned quote slip, which Noah did so we could think about it. She folded it up, and walked out after we told her 5x in a row we would rather just have the car we originally wanted, and she kept saying are you sure we have this, and this too. I kept telling her we were gunna keep looking. She was very very pushy. And I will not be buying from here after that whole situation. Even my kid thought she was being rude. read more

COMPLETE LOSS OF TRUST for Sands Kia SERVICE department on Cactus Road in Surprise Arizona.  Kia makes a great car - but AVOID Sands Kia Service - let me tell you why.  My 90-year old mom noticed a dashboard warning light indicating a problem with the battery. She had a new battery installed by Sands Kia in her 2018 Kia Optima August of 2024 - about 15 months prior - with a 3-year warranty - that cost $350 - so she took her car in for service on November 25.  After the service department checked the car - she was told by Fernando Zamorano - a Service Advisor - that the car needed a new alternator and that the battery was OK. When asked the cost of replacing the alternator - my mom was quoted $1500 - and asked if she would like to schedule a time to make the repair.  Luckily - my mom thought something was amiss - mainly because the car had been running perfectly -and only had 35,000 miles on the odometer. So - she said - "not now - I'm going to get a second opinion."  My mom is fortunate to have a friend who knows a mechanic - and after running tests on the car - this mechanic found it WAS the battery - and the alternator was fine. He felt that my mom was being taken advantage of - and didn't charge her anything for his time testing :)  You know this guy is now going to get a lot of referrals !  When I visited my mom for Thanksgiving - we took the Kia Optima back to Sands Kia - and sure enough - this time their tests determined the problem was indeed the battery - and since it was under warranty - there was no charge. Nothing was mentioned about the alternator when I was with my mom !   Were the mechanics incompetent the first time the car was taken in ?? Did they not know how to properly test a battery ??  I seriously doubt that this dealers' mechanics could be so unprofessional - therefore - the blame must lie with 'Service Advisors' - like Fernando - and the Sands Kia service 'system' - which profits from performing needless repairs.  Shame on them for trying to get my mom to pay $1500 for uncalled-for service ! The lesson learned here - ALWAYS get a second opinion - and - AVOID Sands Kia Service. My mom thought you should know ! read more

I'd been car shopping for a while, test-driving a bunch of small SUVs before finally deciding on a KIA. I did a ton of research on the car and different dealerships, looking at inventory, customer service, and financing options. After a long search, I finally found a dealership that had everything I wanted. Since I already knew which car I wanted, the process was quick when Joe Williams greeted us. He was super patient, professional, and knew everything about the car. I took it for a test drive and loved it! The whole buying process went smoothly, and Joe walked me through all the car's features. There was a mark on the driver's side door that wouldn't come off, even after Joe tried cleaning it, so he set up a service appointment to get it fixed. Nick Anderson, the Service Manager at Sands KIA, reached out and scheduled my appointment for 2/27. When I showed up at the service department, Nick was already there waiting. He introduced himself and even showed me the waiting room--something I've never had happen before. I've owned Toyota and Hyundai cars, and their service departments never did that. I usually had to sit in my car for at least 5 to 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged me, and if I had to wait for something simple like an oil change, two hours was normal. So, I came prepared, expecting to be there for a while. I brought my 2024 Kia Telluride to Sands Kia of Surprise for my 15,000-mile service, expecting the full maintenance package I was promised. Service advisor Jonathon Huerta stated that they performed the tire rotation and even claimed to put the better tires on the front. When I got home, I verified that this was not done, as a tire I recently had repaired was still in the same position. He also stated they checked the brakes, but it makes me wonder if they actually did, since they did not even remove the wheels. Despite paying for the complete service, the work I was promised was not performed. When I raised the issue with the service department, I attempted to call and requested to speak to the manager of the entire service department, but never received a call back. This experience has been extremely frustrating. I trusted them to maintain my vehicle properly, but their failure to deliver the service I paid for has left me questioning their reliability and professionalism. For weeks, Sands Kia repeatedly contacted me via email while I was searching for the right vehicle. All communication was email-based, which reasonably led me to believe that pricing and negotiation would also be handled via email -- especially since I live several hours away and clearly stated that I only negotiate remotely. Once I identified a vehicle and requested written out-the-door (OTD) pricing, the process suddenly changed. I was told that Sands Kia "only negotiates in person," despite: * Email-based communication up to that point * Written OTD pricing already being partially provided by email * Clear disclosure that I live hours away The OTD pricing that was sent included thousands of dollars in dealer add-ons (tint, recon fees, etch), which were later described as "clean online pricing." When I asked for clarification or removal of those add-ons, the rules shifted again, and the conversation was redirected rather than answered directly. What makes this especially concerning is that this came from the Internet Sales Manager -- whose role should support transparent, remote buyers, not funnel them into in-person pressure after the fact. This felt like a textbook bait-and-switch: * Email engagement to keep me interested * Changing terms once a specific vehicle was identified * Pressure to come in person despite clearly stated boundaries I ultimately walked away because my time is valuable, and this process did not respect it. We walked into Kia not sold on the idea of purchasing a car from there. We met Trenton and knew right away that he was honest and knowledgeable. But we left Kia and went to another dealership to look at one more car - but we were so disappointed in their customer service that we went right back to Kia. Trenton was patient and walked us through the pros and cons of the two cars we were looking at and searched inventory to find the color I wanted, even knowing we may not purchase. He did not pressure us, try to "sell" us and encouraged us to make our own decision as it was a big purchase. Ultimately, that is what sold us on our Telluride. Even after FINALLY purchasing, Trenton has continued his support and customer service helping me navigate with the service department and getting tint done. Day before Said that he would connect with us in the morning after he spoke with his manager to make sure they could move forward with the deal. We arranged a sitter for our son and everything. Day of, no communication, and then later had another sales rep Hayden reach out to us. I let her know why we would not be doing business- and nothing. Not an explanation or apology. The customer service was atrocious. *update Manager asked me to call because of my review- and when I did they said the car I was working on was now gone. Update: went to another Kia dealer. They are selling us the exact same car we looked at, at Sands. Literally the dealerships are doing a trade for the car. Net result paying $6120 less at Peoria Kia. Sands Lease was $389 a month and at Peoria Kia the lease is $219 a month for 36 mo lease, with taxes, fees, down payment, 1st payment, etc. On the exact same car!!! Now, here's the best part...The reason for the update...Sands Kia didn't want to trade their car to Peoria Kia unless I removed my 1 star review. Well, I agreed to remove it and. But I didn't agree to not replace it with a 2 star review and updated commentary. Sorry Sands, if you're going to play games, remember the devil is in the details. So, I replaced it with a 2 star review and revised my commentary. If I were the salesman at Sands, I'd be very upset that their sales manager's rude, obnoxious and flippant comments cost them a commission. As for the response from the general manager, maybe it's time to retrain your employees on how not to talk to a customer, and quit trying to overcharge customers to start with. The most recent was our daughter's 2025 K4 which has turned out to a lemon and they are dragging their feet about replacing it. It's to the point we're filing a complaint with AZ Attorneys General's Office under the Lemon Law. We've been loyal customers clearly and this is how it ends. Do not buy a car there. I feel its important to put this on Yelp for the reason that I spoke with Kyle the GM of the store and he said that TK is a great finance guy and that he will speak to him So, Lionel sold me the car last night at approximately 8:00 pm. He then told me to wait for a couple of minutes to go to the finance man. TK then came and got me and escorted me to his office, and the first thing he said to me after looking me up and down at was, "You must be very hungry." Mind you, I am a very overweight person. I responded to him with "No, I cannot eat, my stomach is tied up in knots." I then said "yes, normally I probably would be hungry, but it's not every day you buy a car, I couldn't eat right now if I wanted to." He then said "Well, let's get you out of here QUICK so you can go eat." So, then he proceeded to ask me if everything went ok with the sale, and I said that now I have two cars here and my boyfriend is in Boston, and I am thinking right now about how I am going to get two cars home. and then he rolled his eyes and got up and went somewhere. (I honestly thought that he was going to call a Lyft or be helpful somehow, but no) Lionel showed up and said that "I thought we discussed the issue of your car already." And I said, "Yes, but I'm still trying to figure out how to get two cars home this late at night." So, then Lionel left. TK then said "we're going to do this quickly, so you could go eat." I again said, "even if I wanted to, I can't eat right now." So, he prints some papers and quickly highlights the places where I was supposed to sign in yellow, puts the paper down, and puts his finger right on the yellow-highlighted part and says "Sign right here." I said, "Well, can I glance at it to see what I am signing?" he said "no, I will make you a copy to take home." I said, "But I usually don't sign stuff unless I look at it." By this time, I had already turned my video feature on my iPhone and began taping what was going on. I have it all on audio. While putting his finger on the yellow highlighted part where i was supposed sign he was doing it for me. I would occasionally ask, will you please at least tell me what your signing for me? so then it was new banter. It was now this part is about the fact that we are putting a metal vin number on your car. I would say what does that even mean. Then he would ignore my question and then put his finger on the next highlighted signature part and then proceed to the next one. I happened to catch something saying if i sign fraudulently it would be perjury. It said that the car has 5 miles on it and that was not true, for the reason that while test driving it the mileage was around 60 miles. i pointed this out to him and he said just sign it it doesn't matter. I stated to him that it makes me feel uncomfortable that I'm signing something that is not true. His voice raised and said "YOUR NOT GOING TO MAKE ME CHANGE THIS WHOLE THING AND START OVER AGAIN BECAUSE OF THIS ARE YOU?.." I said "well yes" he said "No IM NOT GOING TO DO THAT" Then we got to the IPAD portion of the signing in which TK told me don't worry this is the same thing that you signed on the paper," in an extremely condescending way. I said ok so the whole time he was gripping the IPAD with his left hand and said 'here sign this and then you only have to sign it once, and your signature will repeat itself. He then went through and pushed every single highlighted part himself that I was supposed to push with his right finger. I asked him well aren't i supposed to do that and push it myself. He then said he was helping me. i then said well I really would like to do it myself and then i yelled, "You have been so rude to me this whole time You looked me up and down and said you must be hungry, and then you won't even let me look at the contract that I'm supposed to sign." He stormed out and got Lionel, and then Lionel sat next to me. TK them ripped up the paper contract and said that we are starting over. I said thank you, and he actually, in front of Lionell gave me the contract to hold, and I actually asked him some questions, such as when he showed me the $8000,00 or around that amount that Was going to be paid above and beyond that amount, I said if i pay it off faster that amount would be less or do you take out the interest at the beginning and i asked him other questions and he answered them and also when it came to the signing on the iPad in front of Lionel he actualy let me hold the Ipad and ask questions. I was so run down last night and I am wondering why I had to sign two contracts? One on the I{ad and one on paper? I was not allowed to ask questions and would like to know now. Although this new facility is very nice, it is missing one very important thing! No cars inside to look at. It does have rows and rows of desks and lots and lots of employees seating and standing, talking to each other or playing on their phones. After putting up with the 111 degree heat and no sales person giving us the time of day we went inside to look to look at cars in air conditioning. To our surprise all we found was a lot of employees, most not doing anything. When I asked the receptionist why they did have cars inside to look at? She replied: there isn't enough room. I am extremely disappointed and just downright confused with my experience at Sands Kia. I had called ahead of time to confirm that there would be no market adjustment on the Kia Sportage Hybrid 2023 that I was interested in, and was assured that there wouldn't be. However, when I arrived at the dealership, the sales associate I had spoken to was not there. Instead, I was greeted by a different sales associate who did not shake my hand or introduce himself. I found his demeanor to be strange, and it felt like he was mad at me for some reason he was unprofessional and clearly had no interest in helping me. Not only did this sales associate fail to introduce himself or shake my hand, but he was also incredibly pushy and rude. He repeatedly pressured me to reveal my monthly payment and down payment preferences, even though I had made it clear that I was primarily concerned with the overall cost of the car. This sales associate's behavior was aggressive and intimidating, and I felt completely disrespected and uncomfortable. To make matters worse, when the sales associate finally brought me the paperwork for the car, I discovered that there was over $10,000 of markups and unnecessary add-ons. When I mentioned that I had been promised no market adjustment over the phone, this sales associate had the audacity to accuse me of lying. My boyfriend even overheard him and the finance manager laughing and making comments like "everyone's gotta eat" "we got her" after hearing that I had saved over 50% the cost of the car for a down payment. This was beyond unprofessional and downright offensive. I wish I could share this sales associates name, but since he never introduced himself to me I will just share his appearance so you all can avoid him like the plague. White male in his 30s glasses tattoos on his arms very thin. As a potential customer willing to spend over $40,000 on a new car, I expected to be treated with at least respect and professionalism. Instead, I was subjected to aggressive and unprofessional behavior that made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. BEST and EASIEST car buying experience ever I highly recommend Sands Kia for your next vehicle purchase. Sands Kia is not one of the "typical" high pressure sales dealerships, its just the opposite. The folks at Sands Kia are knowledgeable and experienced, and best of all there is "no pressure" to make a purchase. I worked with Shawn and Damon for my purchase and I was so pleased with the service I received. Shawn went above and beyond to help me find the perfect model/trim vehicle at the a price range I was comfortable with. Shawn took his time going over all the features of the vehicle and made sure I was comfortable prior to leaving the dealership. The finance portion of purchasing a vehicle is usually my least favorite aspect but not at Sands Kia. Damon was great, all my options were explained and the best part, no sales pressure, no pressure at all, nada! Maybe it was the person I was dealing with, maybe the dealership in general - but if you go here to finance a car and there is a "desert protection package" or something similar that "they can't take off" - it's the same thing as a market adjustment over the MSRP sticker price of the car and a shady way of showing it on paper to trick customers without saying it's a market adjustment over sticker price. You pay for what you want and what you don't want after MSRP. Don't let them fool you. Window tint, door handle scratch guards (clear stickers) and door edge guards (clear stickers) does not justify a $2300 added fee to MSRP price of the car. You can get door edge and scratch guards off amazon for under $50. read more

This dealership took a $500 holding deposit from me then refused to sell me the car for the advertised price. Instead. They said I could only buy the car if I purchased their disinfectant treatment called DrivPur and a catalytic converter vin etching they call the September Protection Package. They also wanted to charge a $599.5 'document fee' and $65 'non tax fee' none of these fees were listed in the advertisements. To make matters worse, when I requested they return my deposit the sales director said they would return it, and for the next 5 days the $500 showed as a 'pending' return on my credit card, but the refund never processed and the dealer still has my money. I'll be contacting class action attorneys, local prosecutors, and media to try to make this right. read more

Literally appalled at how my husband and brother were treated at this dealership. Came in to price out a K5 and work numbers out. Well, that went downhill quick as they came back with a lease payment over $800/month for a $31,000 car. That's a higher payment than a Genesis. After being told by the salesmen that he "doesn't understand it either" they were escorted to talk to the sales manager, Steve. My husband then asked why the payment was so high and that the math doesn't make sense. But it's "easy math" they said! After repeatedly asking them to explain the numbers, Steve felt it appropriate to say he's been doing this for 25 years and that my husband was "telling him how to do his f***ing job." Anyways, never go here unless you like to be treated like garbage and deal with men who have huge egos apparently. Will never return or waste money here! And to Steve: maybe YOU should learn how to do math since you were talking to a stats major :) read more
