The bread displays at Milano have always drawn my attention. On one afternoon, my husband and I finally decided to try something from this market, namely, an item from the deli that we could pack for our Central Park picnic. There was a line, of course, there always is, and the wait was longer than what we were willing to endure for fare as simple and as common as a sandwich. It was worth the 20-minute wait. We ordered the Milano special, packed with cold meats, tomatoes, pickled peppers, cheese, and lettuce between two soft sesame rolls. It looked magnificent. It tasted magnificent. It was a sandwich to rule all sandwiches. I'd brave the line for that any day. read more

wow wow wow. We went today on mother's day around noon and only waited 30 min. We got two sandwiches and a few cookies, OH and tried the cheesy pasta shells (the sauce and melted cheese was everything) Also, the feel of the market is cozy and special. The staff is super nice and eager to help. It feels like a special neighborhood gem and you can really feel the family owned vibe. 1. Proscuitto burtata (amore) - fresh fresh fresh and quality ingredients. The proscuitto was perfect along with the burrata, arugula and balsamic glaze on ciabatta which was sweet mix. We were deciding on this one and the proscuitto tomato but we are glad we got this one! 2. Chicken caesar salad wrap- I think I could easily say this is the best caesar salad wrap i've had. The dressing was light and not overpowering with the mix of the chicken, croutons and outside wrap was a truly stellar combination. Very fresh and wasnt soggy one bit. the cookies: small black n white cookie, rainbow cookie and chocolate sprinkle and all were hits! my favorite was the black n white because the icing melts right off the soft cookie texture and tastes more like a cake than a cookie. All were amazing and is a must try when visiting. absolutely rec when you're on the east side! read more

I visited Milanos this past Sunday evening with my boyfriend and his daughter for our dinner. We wanted to try the viral chicken cesar wrap, and I wanted to try lit anything with mortadella. there was a line but it moved very quickly. there is so much to shop and look through. the by the lb food looked okay, half good half ehhhh. To make this short, the wrap sucked. no flavor, lacked seasoning, best part was the croutons. The worker made me a special sandwich, so idk the name bc I believe it was a custom, chicken cutlet, mortadella, burrata, arugula, roasted peppers, and balsamic. delicious!!! I would say. steer away from the viral, and make ur own sandy. bread was delicious. ingredients were fresh. I would go back for a chix vodka parm. read more

Been here a few times and every time it's been delicious! The sandwiches are always made right there in your face from fresh ingredients and it's a clean Deil the staff are friendly and they also have a great selection of different types of goodies. We dropped into this sandwich shop for something to have on a hot June afternoon. The sandwich was very good. However, we took it to Central Park to sit on a bench and enjoy and it was a very messy sandwich. I definitely say you're going to eat one of these, you need to be at a table so you don't get the stuff all over your shirt and pants. The food taste great, but I spent the rest of the day with spots all over my clothes. read more

The milano special sandwich was pretty yummy! loaded with a lot of meats and a decent amount of veggies! the brussel sprouts were my favorite. they were flavorful and not too burnt. the food selection in the market is plentiful and they have a wide variety of things! i would definitely come back to try their other fresh foods~ they all honestly looked really appetizing. service was great! fast and efficient. the inside of the market is really small so its a little hard to move around if its busy. read more

Milano Market absolutely lives up to the hype. Had the famous Chicken Caesar Wrap and it was chef's kiss --perfectly seasoned chicken, crisp romaine, creamy Caesar, all wrapped up just right. Every bite hit. And the fried prosciutto ball?? Straight up drool mode Crispy on the outside, savory, rich, and insanely satisfying. Milano Sandwiches are Hands Down the Best as far as I'm concerned located on the upper East Side. They are HUGE and I can only eat half so it lasts me for two meals. My favorites are #11 The Padrino, which is breaded chicken, cutlet, fresh mozzarella, red peppers, mayo and balsamic vinaigrette on semolina brea I also like the #3 All-American sandwich which has roast beef, ham, turkey, swiss cheese, american cheese, lettuce, and tomato on a semolina hero. I always add mayonnaise too. My family have ordered many times for catering with 6 foot heroes and 3 foot heroes and sides and Milanos always makes everything perfect! I highly recommend! All of their food is exceptional! They have awesome catering specials during the holidays and Super Bowl too! read more

Had to come for the Chicken Caesar Salad Wrap but ended up leaving more satisfied with the Amore sandwich! While the wrap was a generous portion, I found the wrap not tightly wrapped and the salad overdressed without much seasoning. If I had the option, the wrap would've been elevated with some Tabasco or hot sauce on the side. The Amore was perfect for a sunny day - the generous portion of salty prosciutto was paired deliciously with the fresh creamy burrata. The ciabatta was also delicious and chewy. I think we waited 20-30 mins but staying inside the cool market was nice and didn't feel too long! read more

Walking in and seeing all the great selection of prepped food was amazing until you tasted it. What a disgrace. i figured i would get a few salads for 4th of July gathering and was so embarrassed seeing everyone's face of the salads. The broccoli rabe salad was so tangy that you spitted it out right away not counting how hard it was, the fresh mozzarella balls with tomato salad was so dry , and the pasta with broccoli was as eating plain pasta. Gf loves this spot and was very excited to bring me here, I got the dalton and she got the amore. The amore is super good, the arugula and burrata are a superb combo and the balsamic is *kisses fingers* so good. The dalton wasn't bad, just a smidge dry with the breaded chicken. It's a hefty boy with all the bacon piled on too (yes, I ate it all). So I'd do 3.5 stars if I could. read more

I was excited to try their chicken Caesar wrap, since it's all over social media and ranked pretty highly, but it fell short for me. It's not bad, but was still lacking a little something. One thing you can't complain about though is the size! It's pretty big and can really fill you up if you eat the whole thing, or you can make 2 small meals with it. I wouldn't trek all the way to UES for it, but I was already working in the area. Plan ahead if you go during lunch though, the line can get really long! I've been getting chicken parm's here for years. Usually they're great. The last two times have been pretty shitty - it was delivered cold (and not just cold because it was delivered by a driver, literally cold like it came out of the fridge). And today was the last straw. I went to the market and watched them put my chicken parm in the microwave. An abomination to the cutlet and the mozzarella. I'll be taking a break for the foreseeable future. read more

They have stellar sandwiches, the bread is fresh. The menu is expansive, they have hot and cold sandwiches. It is exceptionally busy in there, so be mindful of that! I typically order for pick up to skip the madness and even that's a challenge. The Milano special is a typical Italian meat sandwich - mortadella, ham, salami, capicola with roasted red peppers, provolone and lettuce /tomato. It's my friend's favorite and it's HUGE! Definitely great for a picnic, tailgate or corporate catering. One star deduction for the confusion by staff and just generally long wait times for in person, delivery or pickup. I live near here and have been a handful of times. I have had the chicken Caesar wrap (7.5/10) which is probably my favorite but I've also had the Tartufo (6.5/10) and the Sicilian (7/10) and the BLT (7.5/10) which is a close second favorite of mine. I've tried their carrot cake and red velvet cupcakes but honestly hated both. The cakes were dry and the frostings way too sweet. Would recommend you skip the pastries. I've also had the soup of the day many many times, it's my go to when I'm sick. You can order online but I would go in person, there can occasionally be a line but it's rarely more than 10-15 minutes. When in the shop you can see the sides as well which I find to be a better experience. The workers are all very nice and efficient. The shop is small but there are some good groceries to browse while you wait in line. Over all I think it's a pretty good market, maybe not the best in the world but definitely dependable for a good sandwich with a decent amount of meat. read more

caesar salad wraps this one's my favorite caesar salad wraps out of all the ones i've had ugh why does it have to be in NYC it's a big portion but everything about it is so perfect. there's a great amount of sauce, its enough to give a lot of flavor without being too much and making the lettuce soggy. the crunch from the croutons is so satisfying, and the wrap isn't too soft or too crispy either. it's just so good milano market also has so many food options though. it kind of reminded me of erewhons hot bar, even though it's not like thattt similar. just the fact that there's tons of random food you can take home, and it all looks like it was made pretty fresh. this review is just for the caesar wrap tbh idk about the other stuff but this wrap was a 5/5 read more

Came here after hearing the hype of the chicken ceasar salad wrap and it was good!! A plentiful amount of chicken and the Caesar dressing was really nice! It wasn't my favorite chicken Caesar salad wrap I've ever had but it was definitely in the top five! If I were to give Milano a review for their market it would definitely be a 5, they have the best stock of prosciutto di Parma, and San Daniele. And the cheese selection is also great. However when it comes to sandwiches, I don't know what the hype is about. I ordered the eggplant parm on a hero today, however it was just so bland. The bread (hero) I must say was delicious! However the rest was just so bland. Small cuts of eggplant which wasn't even hot and the mozzarella wasn't even melted either. It lacked flavor and satisfaction. I really can't recommend and understand the hype. And on top of it all it was $15 including tax and tip and they charge a 3% if paying with credit card! read more

Holy the sandwiches here are HUGE and so good for the price. Highly recommend sharing with someone. The market was in a cute corner on 3rd ave and the space is pretty small so the line goes around the shelves in the store. Lots of fresh made sides and sandwiches made to order. We waited about 20 minutes in line and 10 minutes for the food. The service is great and feels like a local favorite! Also central park is nearby so a perfect to go lunch or snack. read more

Came here for the Caesar wrap, which was hefty and filling but just ok. I've had better, like the one at Ggiata in Los Angeles. I was splitting two sandwiches with my brother, and we also tried the Bada-Bing, which was soppressata, prosciutto, mozzarella, and roasted peppers on a hero, which made for a bit of a tough chew but a good sandwich overall. There were probably fifty different sandwich options on this menu, in addition to a "make your own" section, and I really would have preferred around fifteen to twenty options. Milano market is as cute as it is delicious. The meats hanging from the ceiling are just as abundant as the meat they pile in your sandwich. One of my favorite vodka parm sandwiches and Caesar wraps. Get extra sauce on the vodka parm if you can. Lines can get long and move slow. read more

This is a very authentic old school Italian market in the upper east side. There are always a lot of people in and out of here and the staff does a great job at keeping things moving. I ordered the Chicken Caesar wrap and added Bacon to it which was a great touch. The croutons in the wrap were a great touch for texture and added flavor. read more

This is a reminder that just because something is viral online, it's not necessarily good. I waited 40 minutes for a Caesar wrap with breaded chicken. It was fine, but just a typical wrap. Nothing noteworthy or special, in fact the chicken was not tender and the dressing was fair at best. read more

Splendid decor and full of authentic Italian food, this deli is easily a good neighborhood spot for taking out deli sandwiches and salads for picnic purposes. They have a ton of different Panini options, wraps, and homemade salads that taste good, but can sometimes be a bit average. For example, the meatball sandwich was a bit dry, even though it came with a ton of bread. There are also really good imported foods from Italy here, including crostini, olives, and tuna in a jar that can only be found in truly authentic Italian places. read more

OOOOF im gonna be daydreaming about the Caesar wrap forever my friend came to town so before spending a day at the MET we went to Milano Market for a quick bite. We split the Caesar wrap and chicken parm wrap - both SOSOSO delicious. the Caesar wrap had fresh ingredients with in house croutons and freshly made dressing / every bite had the most satisfying crunch to it the chicken parm sub came warm and saucy - a very heavy yet cheesy yet juicy sub. I wish it was spicier but it was very good - i added red pepper flakes and Tabasco. the line is long but service was quick. id be nice if they one day have seating in our outside but we went to a nearby park no problem. 10/10 recommend and would come back in a heart beat. nothing beats a solid sub at a solid deli! read more

A very cozy Italian market! famous for its chicken ceasar wrap and sandwiches! I tried the milano supreme and they were really generous with the deli meat! super kind staff too. got a beautiful fat sandwich that hit the spot on a gorgeous day. perfect to take to the park and eat while people watching. went at 2pm on a tuesday and still had to wait in line for 15min. also tried their black and white cookie which was average. ended up being $20, note they charge a 3% credit card fee. read more

I think I might have been a little disappointed cause I had high hopes for a French place to have solid and fresh bread. Curious to see if it was a one off thing or a trend. The store itself is super cute! Limited seating with only 2 tables inside and 1 outside but it has lots of cute French decorations mixed with a rustic vibe. Food came out at a reasonable time during brunch hours.

It was clear the chicken had been fried per order. Those who know me know that I can't live without rice and would eat it with almost any meal, including fried chicken, so I did request it on the side, although the wings don't come with it. The man who took my order did me a solid and served it with mine, anyway. Good lad! I've been wanting to try Vietnamese coffee for a while now, and it was everything I imagined it would be. Sweet with a bitter backend - but not too bitter! I'm still new to coffee, and I pucker up at anything too intense. This was just right. My meal at Joju satisfied me, mind, body, and soul. Next time, though, I'll probably add salami just to see how it compares. I was very unpleased with the experience I had to go through today . I went in as a black woman with dreads and got completely ignored by the whole staff , as to the store being completely empty I went up to one of cashiers to ask questions about bagels and this woman had the audacity to stare me down in a very judgmental way and continued to ignore me while being on the phone, none of the workers even asked me what I wanted even tho I precisely loudly but gracefully and politely made it clear , i felt as to this was a very discriminatory situation I felt judged , they also looked all Caucasian and careless so ‍ , anyways racist staff , that location has horrible energy as well when u come in it pushes you back , and I'm surprised to see their flower guy being Mexican and they make him be outside in the sidewalk even in the rain but ok ! read more

While a guy behind the counter (he's graying, slightly tall and scruffy-looking) was making the sandwich I always get, I asked him to add oil and vinegar, because they don't unless you ask. He glared at me and said, "I'm not done making the sandwich," but he did as I asked. Here's the funny part--I get home and find out that he made a CONSIDERABLY smaller sandwich than usual. That was his pathetic way of carrying out some sort of retaliation because he felt that I was bugging him. Never again am I paying for a $12 sandwich to be gypped by some miserable deli chef. And btw I'm Asian. I just scrolled down and found reviews (as recent as Sep. 2015) of people saying that this place is run by racists. Go figure. read more
