I guess if I had to pick a movie title for the two ladies who run this shop it would be "The Incredibles". The owners publish their own comic book patrons can purchase. Well then my review will be in Comic Book format to applaud this great sandwich shop. Chapter One: Wonder Women, these two ladies have superhuman strength, speed, and culinary skills, and uses iconic ingredients like avocados, pico de gallo, panko crusted eggplant, chicken and spices to "whip" up delicious sandwiches. Chapter Two: My name is Anna Ameyama, and I crafted this menu with delectable choices. I've cooked for the Avengers with recipes that will satisfy every palate: Breakfast all day, salads, sandwiches and tacos. Chapter 3: Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce Wayne's personal chef, would be delighted to prepare and dine on these fine sandwiches. The BB ( Baddest B*itch) is a delicious crispy fried chicken sandwich served atop a brioche bun dressed with greens, pico de gallo and garlic aioli. All I can say it's lip smacking great and my stomach was purring like the Batmobile. The iced chai was perfect! The Mac Momma sounds yummy with a Mac and Cheese bun with a choice of beef burger or crispy chicken. A meal Batgirl would devour! My husband and I were looking for a quick breakfast option nearby and when we got to Sandwich Girl Cafe I took a quick glance at their menu and immediately the Red Nubian (shakshuka sandwich with chimichurri, feta cheese, and two sunny-side-up eggs) stood out to me. When the lady at the front desk said it was one of her favorites I knew I had to try it! The staff was very welcoming and kind. They do a great job describing the sandwiches to you and you can tell the lady at the register really enjoys them as well! Back to the food- the presentation was lovely. the breakfast was nice and hot you could see the steam coming out. I absolutely loved the sandwich, the shakshuka was sooo good, flavorful, warm, and cozy. The salad was the perfect side. I saw the amazing reviews so I wanted to try this out since it was pretty close. I saw overwhelming positive reviews for the baddest bitch sandwich so that is what I got. The sandwich is lightly battered in what seems like bread crumbs. It's def healthier than let's say a Popeyes sandwich. Down nestled down 7th Avenue is this tiny sandwich shop run by two nice folks. The front person was nice and offered suggestions. The place has a nice cafe vibe character and it's own comic book character. I visited during late afternoon around 2pm on a Saturday and was able to score a table for two. They got wooden stools and benches for maybe 8 people. I love how they have breakfast all day and some great vegetarian loaded wraps. I got the madame breakfast item and it came in a flour wrap, fava beans, cheese, and eggs with salsa with some greens with a light sauce. The wrap was pillowy soft and was filling without feeling overly unhealthy. My friend got The Choppa which is like a philly steak cheese like sando on bread. This place was recommended by a local and I'm so glad I came to eat here. I think I paid around $15 for the item and it came with a tiny salad. Kinda busy and bustling and we were advised by a local to wait but we got our food in under 10 minutes. There's seating outside but it's in the sun, so bring a hat. It's down 7th Avenue, good biking lanes nearby and some hip park for kids 5 blocks away. It turns out their sauce is really good and is sold in three local store. Ok so I ordered from here yesterday. The kahila, which is described as having crispy chicken as the protein. I believe I selected the spicy tsaziki sauce because it sounded interesting! I was excited about this place. So I get onto the street and had to double park, plus I was heading into work so I was trying to be quick. I walked in and a young lady emerged from the back, was very friendly, I smiled and Said I was picking up an order and she handed me the container on the counter. I thanked her and told her I was really looking forward to trying it. So I get to work and open the container and it was definitely not the correct sandwich. I believe I wound up being served a tuna sandwich. It was on a rosemary sandwich bread, with pesto and greens and avocado. And onions. So however, while I am disappointed that I did not get the correct sandwich, I still ate the one I was given. The tuna was very tender, and that bread was very good. I'm not a huge fan of pesto to begin with, but it wasn't bad. So I'm not really disappointed with the entire experience and I probably will try it again (to get the kahila for real!), I'm very glad this happened to me and not someone who was allergic to seafood! HALAL chicken option in Park Slope! We ordered lunch from here for pickup on a weekday. We all got the BB Sandwich. I was excited to find out that all their chicken is halal and cooked separately from other meat. The inside of the spot is small but cozy, I think about 4-5 seats and there's some outdoor seating as well. The owner was very sweet, we had to rush to make it to a meeting so she did the best she could while being cognizant of our time. The sandwich itself was good and had a fresh component to it. Unfortunately, I was only able to eat it after said meeting so it was slightly cold (at no fault of the restaurant). You can tell it was made fresh. Overall a good sandwich. I could've used a little more chicken in the sandwich to balance out the size of the bun. However, for me, the convenience of having something halal & fresh nearby is what will keep me coming back here! After our initial visit, we ordered from here again, this time delivery.
