Came back for a second visit because the first time was good. I ordered the full chicken salad sandwich and customized it with no mayo, no lettuce, and went with the squaw bread. They have a variety of bread options you can choose from. The chicken salad itself had a subtle sweetness that tasted good. Only downside was the texture. The chicken was a bit on the watery side, so the sandwich didn't hold up well. It kept falling apart with each bite, which made it a little messy to eat. Not a dealbreaker though. Service was just okay. The spot itself is small, and feels like a go to for nearby office workers grabbing something quick and heading out. read more

Not what it used to be.... I used to come here weekly for over 20 years. Today I was in the area and wanted a turkey and Swiss as I always get. It was 97 degrees outside, I walked in the restaurant and asked the girl at the counter if I could shut the door as there was so many flies inside, she said no we are supposed to leave it open... pretty odd to have air but open the door on the hottest day. I placed my order and left, the employee seemed upset to be at work and was not courteous not like it used to be. Then I open my sandwich and cannot believe my eyes... for an $11 sandwich I got a stale roll one slice of cheese and one slice of turkey. For anyone who used to go here back in the day the sandwich would be stuffed, not sure what happened or if it's the new ownership. I refuse to come back and won't, the old ownership knew how to run a restaurant. This was a disgrace! read more

I was pretty hungry and was interested to try this spot after passing it a few times. Upon entering we were welcomed and gave a quick rundown of the menu. We decided to order two of"the monsters" with all the condiments and chips. The monster is a sandwich that has avocado, roast beef, turkey, ham and Swiss cheese. We ordered one on sour dough and one on French bread - unfortunately both came out on sour dough. The sandwich was ok but the ingredients didn't scream quality and the bread was generic bread. The meat was sparse for a $16 sandwich. It's a little of a disappointment since I feel like you go to a sandwich shop especially for them having quality bread whereas I feel like I could make this sandwich at home. read more

Once again a great experience. Didn't want to eat what I brought to work for lunch and was like "Where can I go and get something and not feel bleh the rest of the day after eating it? Oh yeah! Duh!" Server was rude when we ordered. We asked a question about what the difference was between two sandwiches and she pointed to the menu and told us to read the menu. We ordered 2 full sized sandwiches and 2 regular soft drinks and paid After ordering, we saw a sign that says there is a happy hour for a free regular soft drink with any sandwich purchase, but we were charged $3 each for our soft drinks that should have been free. Nothing tastes bad... but if you're looking for a delicious sandwich, any type of special topping or creativity, this is not the spot. I got a blt on sour dough and that is pretty much what I got... two pieces of UNTOASTED sour dough (doesn't taste like sour dough tho...), lettuce, tomato, bacon. No sauce of any kind (ie mayo, etc). Mr. Sandwich is more of a local favorite, especially if you live or work nearby. While there, I saw a woman pick up a catering order. It was a good spot for me to wait for a bit before a meeting in the area. I don't think people travel here simply for a sandwich. However, they serve Fosselman's Ice Cream, which is a well-known old-fashioned ice cream shop in Los Angeles, so I think that elevates them quite a bit. read more

Mr Sandwich has a variety of hot and cold sandwiches so I opted for a "Turkey Avocado and Swiss Cheese" on sourdough bread ($12.69). If you're looking for a specialty sandwich shop, this may not be up your alley, but if you're in the mood for a tasty but simple, homemade sandwich, then look no further. While I wish there was a bit more meat than the two slices of turkey I received, I thought the sandwich was delicious, very fresh and I loved how soft the bread was. The price was a bit on the higher end for me as I was still hungry after I finished my sandwich, but I definitely enjoyed every bite of it! Service was also wonderful and I appreciated that "mom and pop" feel and love supporting local businesses. We ordered 10 different sandwiches from Mr. Sandwich for our office meeting today through an online delivery service. I got the tuna avocado with sprouts on squaw bread and it was great. They did a good job on the tuna salad and it wasn't drowned in mayo like most sandwich shops. The sandwich was huge. Half of their sandwich equals to almost a whole sandwich somewhere else. And the sprouts was super fresh. 5-star. One of the sandwiches was supposed to be meatballs with mushrooms. However, there were no mushrooms on the sandwich, just the meatballs. I called Mr. Sandwich directly to let them know. Told them I would take just the mushrooms to add to the sandwich but the owner told me they would make a fresh one for me. She was really nice about it. Came by at 1:00 pm to pick it up and the person that makes the sandwiches was very apologetic. He made a fresh one while I waited. Super kind. He also put plenty of mushrooms on the sandwich. I requested to keep the sauce on the side so the sandwich wouldn't be soggy and he did exactly as requested. Mushrooms were a bit salty but overall delicious. The only complaint I heard was the italian sausage sandwich had very little sausage. I believe they cut one sausage to 4 quarters. Since the bread was huge, not enough meat. Everyone else enjoyed their order. Highly recommend Mr. Sandwich. Prices a bit higher than most sandwich places but very good quality. And they do not skimp on protein. Their small chocolate chips cookies are also very fresh. I love cc cookies but very picky and won't eat them if they are a day old. Over charged us because they didn't hit the right button on the register and we paid and showed them on the receipt. I had seen some new faces there but the new owner is usually there. It's not a surprise how hard it is to keep workers these days. This is an update I didn't really want to make, but I feel like I have to. As you can see from my previous reviews, I've been a loyal customer of Mr. Sandwich for years. I was always so impressed by the customer service, the food quality, the accuracy, and how quickly everything was made. Unfortunately, I've returned here several times in the past few months and things just aren't the same under the new ownership. Every single time I've ordered ahead, the order has been wrong. The person taking my order will even confirm what I want, so I don't think it's their fault at all. Sometimes, I'll pay extra for avocado or cheese and it will be missing. Sometimes, I'll get a completely different sandwich. One time, an entire sandwich was missing. When I pointed this out, I was told the sandwich would be made ASAP, but I waited for 30 minutes. I've been trying to give the new owners the benefit of the doubt, but I also want to be honest, especially with all the glowing reviews I've previously given. I understand that everything is expensive these days, but if the price is increasing, the quantity is decreasing, and my orders are consistently inaccurate, it's hard for me to justify purchasing regularly here. Hoping this is just a hiccup and things improve. I'll update my review if so. read more

Located in a plaza with plenty of free parking. I came by to grab a triple chocolate chunk cookie and it was amazingly good. The cookie was somehow buttery but not cakey, with great texture.
