Restaurant we were planning to dine in that day was closed, so my son suggested the food court at H mart. This counter was one if our choices that evening. We had a sizzling clay pot rice bowl with beef and some sliced onions. Nice flavor and rice was crunchy from the bowl that stayed hot during our dinner. A bit dry, so a little sauce or broth would have helped, but otherwise tasty. read more

Probably the best Korean short ribs I've ever had in my life hands down. Hmart plaza in Edison NJ is fully packed especially on weekends and may be difficult to find a parking spot, however it's worth waiting and driving around until you find a spot for this meal. Portion size is great, super filling. Plenty short rib pieces served in cast iron plate with a side of salad with house made dressing, white rice, pickles and kimchi. Everything pairs so well. Prepared fresh each time. A little pricey for the meal (approx $28) but well worth it! Still dreaming of this meal. read more

This was a takeout order. Worst seafood pancake I have ever had. Completely inedible, couldn't even pick it up with my chopsticks. It smelled funky too. I had to trash the whole thing. This food was horrible-- it was served very cold. The egg, everything was cold, even the beef. I had the beef bibimbap. I went to this cashier in the image and asked why the food is extremely iced cold. He did not care. I asked him if he can heat it up-- he said no and ignored me.. maybe because I was not the right color. This is located in the New Jersey American Dream mall. I was very disappointed in the service. As simple as hearing the food up I was told no. A blunt no. I do not recommend the service. I will be further posting about this on other social media platforms. It's the principle of things. This review is based solely on the food that I ordered which was a tofu soup. I would say I have tasted better. It's lacking some flavors, the shrimp they used felt to me, were just some of the readily cooked cocktail shrimp you buy from a grocery store. The wait was also rather long for a foodcourt type of food. I suggest you go next door (to so gong dong) if it's still open, if you really are craving for a good tofu soup. read more

Came here on Wednesday night and thankfully the food court isn't too busy. The re-grand opening of the food court was not too long ago and we're welcoming Korean bbq chicken, street food, and other food stalls. At Sang Tofu & K BBQ, you can order the food at the cashier or go to their corner kiosk and place and pay for your order. You'll receive a receipt with a number printed. There is a tv monitor at the corner and whenever your order is ready, the last two digits on your numbers receipt will be announced as well as displayed on the screen. Okay, now onto my tofu and seafood soup! Yummy! While the hot stone is sizzles all the deliciousness of the seafood, crack the raw egg and let that baby sizzle it's way to being cooked. I like the flavorful tastes. It's not mild nor too spicy where you'll need to wash your throat with gallons of water. The spiciness was just right for me. Tofu/seafood was good. My son had the bibimbap served in the stone pot and said it was good. For two dollars less, you can have the same dish in a regular bowl. It's so worth the $2 more to get the stone pot for the extra crispy rice. I had to knock off a star due the higher price compared to some other local food courts, and they don't offer free water like they used too years ago. I wished I could like this place; the menu items were pretty standard and sounded appetizing, however, it was a bit pricey for the amount they gave you. From the photos it looks full, but it actually is not. The flavours are nice, but maybe not enough appeal for me to go back. The service was subpar, the young guy behind the counter did not look like he wanted to be there. It is in the Hmart food court so it is basic food court style tables. read more

For lunch, I grabbed the beef rice in stone clay pot (around $17ish?). I think it's a bit overpriced for what they give but it could be worse. I waited a bit and got my food when my number was announced. I'm so glad they have a monitor that displays the number in huge font. You can either order via kiosk or through the cashier at the front. There's plenty of beef in the bowl and veggies mixed in. I was able to get a nice rice crunch, there's not that much rice in the bowl but it's still very filling. It came steaming and sizzling hot. I think this is the only food court spot at Hmart that sells the sizzling clay pot. They also sell their onigiri for around $3.50? There's also lots of parking but if it's busy hour, good luck finding a parking spot and table. read more

This place is inside the H Mart supermarket food court. The food court was recently remodel and this place is located at the end of the row. We decided to give this place a try since I like Korean food and bento boxes. The bulgogi box was made to order so it took a little bit of time waiting but not too long. The meat and flavors was good so I couldn't complain. However, 20 dollars for a bento box is steep even with the supposed food increases. Don't eat here a lot because it will add up. Overall, decent food but pricey. read more

Grabbed some lunch before grocery shopping at Hmart. There seemed to be a long line and lots of people wtg for this spot so decided to check them out. They were quick to take our orders and our food was out in about 10-15 mins. I ordered the bulgogi bowl and my husband got the pork belly bento. Both were cooked to excellent tenderness and accompanying sides were pretty good. One less star because I felt like both could've used a bit more flavor. Portions were pretty big and we ended up taking home our remaining food. Overall pleasant service and quick turnaround on orders. read more

They SUCK!!! I bought bulgogi and paid $25 for a take out order. Got home and the DAMN rice was not in the bag. WTF!!! How do you eat it without rice. Had to cook rice and wait an hour. Food got COLD from the time I got it to when the rice was done. Check your order before stapling the bag. How can someone tell if the entire order is there if its stapled. read more

First time trying the H Mart Food Court since it got redone, wanted to try this spot out. Ordered the Kalbi. The flavor was good and cooked well, but knocking off stars as definitely felt like the portion was super small compared to the price. Not sure if we would come here again just because the price is on the higher side for being in a food court. read more

My niece ordered the $17 Lunch Boiler Special which lets you pick 2 seafood options plus a sauce and side. Smaller portions (~ 1/2 lb to 1 lb total), but perfect for lunch and a great value. I went with the lobster roll and sweet potato fries. Solid, but a 3.5/5 for me. I could tell the lobster had been previously frozen, still enjoyable though. I also tried my son's crab legs, and that Capt. Loui Sauce is dangerously good! Buttery, Cajun-forward, slightly sweet, not overly salted. Service was A+. Our server was friendly, attentive, and even charged my phone while we ate. I didn't catch their name, but they had braided hair. We all had pina coladas served in clear zip-top pouches with straws, like something out of a K-pop karaoke bar. The vibe inside was open and lively, with music that felt straight out of the French Quarter. It had this fun Creole-Korean seafood boil kickback energy that just worked. One detail I really appreciated was the handwashing station in the back after a messy seafood boil. It's complete with soap, lotion, mouthwash, mints, etc. so you can freshen up before heading out. The ma la dry hotpot was just so-so - had better flavor, this was just spicy. The shredded potato was so-so, not much favor compared to the Hot Fish version and not really sour or spicy of note. The 1/4 salt baked chicken was quite good, though. Sizzling Jelly in stone pot was not bad, either, a good balance. I also liked the peppery chicken wings. I ordered the ginger and scallion with beef brisket, pork belly, prince mushrooms, corn, sugar snap peas, and udon noodles. There were a lot of issues with my dish in particular. I ordered mild but my dish was very spicy. I can handle spice but I feel bad if anyone orders this who can't. I'll include a picture with the amount of Szechuan peppers in this dish. The menu says pork belly but what they actually mean is thinly sliced pork which is not the same. Additionally the menu indicated corn so I was under the impression I would get loose corn not corn on the cob. Otherwise, we probably only waited about 5 minutes for our food and all the wait staff was very attentive. My husband loved his dish though so we have very opposite opinions lol. I will be coming back because my husband still loved it here and I want to give the hot pot a try.
