I love getting Thai massages because it's one of the only things that actually relieves my chronic hip pain, so I've been on the hunt for a new go-to spot. It just didn't create the best first impression. My friend and I booked different services since we had different needs. I scheduled a 90-minute "sanity signature" massage and specifically wanted medium to firm pressure with a focus on my hip and back. My friend booked an aromatherapy massage and wanted light pressure focused on her shoulders. When we got to our separate rooms, it quickly became clear that our therapists had mixed us up. Mine asked if I wanted aromatherapy, and after I corrected her, she didn't ask any follow-up questions. She ended up spending over half of the session on my right shoulder, barely addressing my back or hip, which was the whole reason I booked. Meanwhile, in my friend's room, once they realized the mix-up, her therapist asked detailed questions about her preferences. However, she still didn't actually receive an aromatherapy experience. She said the closest thing to it was just lotion. After comparing notes, we realized what likely happened: my friend had written down that she wanted focus on her right shoulder, which explains why my therapist spent so much time there instead of following my requests. Another small thing, the website mentions a cash discount, but it's only $5, which felt a bit misleading. Overall, the quality of the massage itself was pretty subpar compared to other Thai massages I've had. If you don't have much to compare it to, it might be fine, but as someone who regularly gets Thai massages, this didn't meet expectations. Additionally, the room was really bright and cold, and the music was really low. I'm honestly on the fence about going back. Part of me wonders if it would be better if they actually followed my intake sheet, but another part of me isn't convinced the overall quality would improve. I spontaneously booked a same day appointment (on a Monday) for deep tissue, hoping the masseuse could help me feel less stiff and tweaky. Sara did such an amazing job welcoming me and really getting all the tension out of my shoulders and neck. She massaged other parts of my body, too, but would always go back to my painful areas, so I felt like a got a very holistic full body massage with focus areas thoroughly targeted. It was my first time here. I would always see the signs when we are in Los Gatos. I had been stressing out due to my anxiety and my body tenses up badly. Amazing place with a great and courteous service and a fantastic massage!! Love the fact that you choose the pressure they use on you and they accommodate to your liking. Great experience! Sanity Thai is located in the bottom floor, "Garden level" of the business plaza. The plaza has a small parking lot but it tends to always be full. Would recommend accounting for additional time for parking. We booked our couples massage via phone and it was a super easy process. Upon arrival, we were given forms to complete about our preferred areas to massage and types of massages. I opted for the deep tissue. My masseuse asked if it would be okay for her to step on me for this massage. I was open to it but honestly a bit worried. However, as she began, I was rest assured. She kept checking in on if the amount of pressure was okay and it was clear that she was really careful. She got a lot of the knots out of my back and she even helped me stretch. A different therapist used to come to our house, but Sara and her staff are so good we now happily make the drive to their spa instead. Hindsight is 20/20. I wish I would have taken the time to read the 3-star reviews because I agree with what those reviewers said. At the same time, this place has so many good reviews, I probably still would have given them a try anyway. Making reservations online was easy. Unfortunately, names that previous Yelpers mentioned were not even listed as options, so I just went with "any staff." Turns out, the person who massaged me wasn't on the online list either. Upon arrival, I was pleased to find parking in a lot. If you have never been to this building, it can be a bit of a maze. The location of their suite is on the garden level. Sanity Thai placed some signage on street level, which was somewhat helpful. Since it was my first time here, I arrived nearly 30 minutes early for my 60-minute Thai Aroma massage. The receptionist's communication skills weren't the best (i.e., English is not her first language), but she was able to ask if I wanted to start my session early. I declined since I needed to use the restroom, which worked out because I had to wait for another client to return with the restroom key, then it took awhile to find since it was two floors above and around a few corners. Also, the key didn't turn easily, which was frustrating. By the time, I got back to Sanity Thai and filled out my intake form, it was 4:50pm--leaving me just enough time to get undressed. I laid face down, and at 5 o'clock, a woman popped her head in and asked if I could wait 15 minutes. I told her I could not, and she said that she would be right back. She left the door ajar, which was a little disconcerting, and I contemplated leaving. Not a great impression for a new client. She returned at 5:06pm and asked me if it was okay for her to walk on my back. I am not new to Thai massage, so I said yes. I think it's great that she asked, especially for people who may not be familiar with Thai massage. However, I will say that I regret saying yes. First of all, there were times where she stepped directly on my spine! Now, it's the next day and I have sore spots directly on my spine that did not exist before. Second, it often felt like she was slipping on the sheet as she walked on my back, which was a bit nerve-wracking. Finally, her feet were ice cold! Although I requested that they focus on my shoulders and neck area, I didn't really feel that any special attention was give to my request. She massaged my whole body, which was nice, but I don't feel that all my knots in my shoulders were worked out. On a positive note, her hands were warm and I appreciate the use of hot towels. On a weird note, I had assumed that I should strip down to underwear (no bra) because that's what I have been doing for years at all the other massage places I've been to, but the massage therapist kept adjusting my underwear in uncomfortable positions that felt overly personal. I understand that it was to avoid getting oil on it, and for a moment I wondered if I should not have worn underwear at all, but then that would have made for some awkward situations during some of the stretching positions she later had me in. When the session ended, I looked at the clock, and it was 6:29! I appreciate her good intention of spending extra time on me, but I wish she would have said something because one of the reasons that I said no to starting 15 minutes late was because I had dinner plans! I much prefer the place I normally go to where they don't walk directly on my spine, use towels to help them avoid slipping while walking on my back, and give me Thai-style lounge shorts to wear for my Thai aroma sessions. All in all, the staff that I encountered were kind, but the massage and time management were sloppy. If you have made it this far, I sincerely thank you for reading, and here are my final two cents: This place is worth going to for the sake of convenience (i.e., near where you live or on your way somewhere), and IF you allow them to walk on your back, I would specifically ask them to avoid stepping directly on your spine. Came by for a Thai massage and it was an excellent experience. Booking was made on a request basis via their website along with an e-mail correspondence for confirmation... Parking is tricky in the private lot. Street parking is complimentary for 2 hours. There was a meter maid enforcing the parking situation... The massage parlor is located on the basement level of the plaza, which was tricky to locate at first. The last steps to the basement level was a huge one...almost missed it! Checked in with the reception with a case intake form. Massage took place in a couples room on a massage table. Requested a strong traditional Thai yoga massage without oil and my therapist was strong (and talented ;)), just like in Thailand. The massage parlor was clean and the therapist hit numerous trigger points. The receptionist also provided a pair of loose-fitting pants and loose-fitting shirt to wear during the massage. The Thai massage started off with trigger points on the foot, moving on to the calves, legs, buttocks, and back, by stepping and kneeling. The therapist had very strong feet and fingers, making for an excellent experience! Lots of stretching and excellent trigger points, just like in Thailand! $85/hour with a $10 off with Yelp check-in. Did not really have any expectations and came here to try the deep tissue massage through Classpass! This was my first time trying Thai massage and I was promptly checked in by the lady (who was also my masseuse) and filled out a questionnaire. She then offered comfy slippers for me to wear and while the place was small, it looked relatively clean. I was then led to the massage room which was dimly lit and there was soothing music playing. Because I didn't know much about Thai massage, I was a little surprised when the masseuse stood on my back and messaged me with her feet. She did ask me how the pressure was and adjusted accordingly. After maybe 15 mins of that, it was back to more traditional massage and she also put some hot stones on me which was nice. At times I felt that the massage was pushing on my skin more than my muscles which gave me a bit of a burning sensation. Overall, the experience was nice and relaxing and there was some warm tea afterwards. However it was perhaps not something I'd come back for again given I prefer a massage that'd help soothe my tight muscles. read more

The name should be Insanity. Seriously bad business practices -definitely go somewhere else! This is what happened to me. A girlfriend gave me a $50 gift certificate for my birthday. (So nice!). Unfortunately when she purchased it, they had run out of gift certificates and so they gave her a business card that the owner had written on, instead. I went to use it, spent $200 more than the gift certificate for the 90 minute couples massage, and gave a 20% tip. At the time of service, the massage therapist accepted the gift certificate business card and accepted the $200 plus 20% tip. A day later, the owner refused to acknowledge the $50 gift certificate. She called me 2-3 times a day for days, during work hours, saying I had stolen the $50. I did not steal and how can she accuse me of that after I spent so much more? I then had to bug my sweet friend, who gave it to me, asking if she had a receipt. She had to search for it. More phone calls from the owner in the meantime. I then provided the VenMo receipt with the owners name and clear message "for $50 gift certificate- Deborah birthday," At that point, the owner still refused to accept it. She even admitted that is her name and VenMo (very difficult to spell!). I finally just paid the $50 so she would stop calling me. But this was very wrong. Clearly, I was not trying to take advantage. I like to support small businesses owned by women. I had spent $200 plus provided a 20% tip. Seriously bad business practices, unfortunately I will never go again due to lack of professionalism. I highly suggest taking your business elsewhere. I will never go back again myself. read more

This was my first time having a massage, so I did not know what to expect. I had a 60 minute session with Nita, and she talked me through what she was doing. At times it was a bit uncomfortable, but my muscles were so tight and had more than a few knots. But after the session was done, thats when you notice the effects. Wow. Their style is Thai massage so be aware that it is not soft like Swedish massage but strong with pressure often applied to a single point. In other words, it will hurt but in a good way since they are quite good at finding knots. Note also that they ask if they can step on you as part of the massage. It will be strong pressure so choose wisely. Wife's masseuse: wife wanted more pressure/strength. She also did not like the pin pointed pressing of their style but would rather prefer strong pressure distributed along their hands rather than a single point using their elbows or thumb. She also requested masseuse to focus on shoulder and neck which the masseuse did not do. Husband's masseuse: a bit too strong at first then much better after feedback. Was looking for a new Thai Massage place in the area. Used to go to the Thai place in Saratoga (tragically closed due to Covid). Decided to give this place a go. This was back in January 2024. Went for the traditional hour massage. Was lead to a room with two massage tables. Lady asked me to undress and place my items on the second table. Okay. The room was very, very cold. Laid down on the table and masseuse proceeds with the massage. The masseuse technic was a little forceful (not completely uncommon in Thai massage). During the course of the massage, I kept mentioning that I was cold the and asked if she turn the heat up. There was obviously a language barrier, cause no action was taken to make the environment any more comfortable/suitable. Masseuse completes the massage. I went to gather any clothes, and wouldn't you know it, the massage table that my clothes were sitting on was heated and warm. I'm like Mutha F..... Further, the next evening after the massage, I woke up with extreme pain in my back. Whatever this masseuses did, it was not pleasant. I've had my fair share of Thai massages and have been bent like a pretzel before. I realize Thai massages involves some boundary pushing. Having said this, I've never had post massage experience like this before. On the plus side. The place is very clean. I seem to do better with the "Traditional Thai Massage" because of the stretching that is involved and I find myself being able to walk better right after.
