    1 Buttermilk Pancake

Wow!!! This was a great restaurant. Very clean on the inside. Employees were kind. Food was most excellent! Truly the best food we have had in awhile. My dad got the pancakes which were so fluffy. I got Mae's breakfast (eggs, choice of meat, potatoes, and Asiago toast). My boyfriend and mom got the slim hammie. Everything was fresh & delicious. Will definitely be returning!

There are not enough words to describe how delicious this huevos rancheros was this morning. I opted to substitute the chorizo with sausage links, so it wasn't too spicy. The cilantro sour cream is just delicious. Everything about it had a perfect flavor in every bite.

After so many FB posts finally made it into Mae's. Cute little shop. Lady at the counter was pleasant at first. She seemed a little annoyed that I asked for my sandwich to be wrapped in two separate boxes... I ordered the monte cristo and a Maurice salad. I've read so much about monte cristos lately, I couldn't wait to try it. It's definitely a sweet & savory sandwich, and although it was tasty, it was on the sweet side for me, for most, it probably wouldn't be. My sister prefers the jam on the side, not in the sandwich. I did like the potatoes it came with. The salad was good, but could've used more toppings, imho. I wouldn't hesitate to return, they have a couple other things on the menu I'd try.

A friend recommended this place for breakfast. I like to frequent places in Downtown Mt. Clemens. Ordered at the counter and the food is brought out to you. The young lady at the counter was pleasant. I ordered the eggs Benedict. The eggs were poached perfectly the hollandaise was very good. I really liked the red skin potatoes. The dining area was clean. I had very good experience.

While I'm unemployed I have the freedom to check out new dining places during the non-busy hours. Mom and I drove in from Sterling Heights to check out Mae's as we love biscuits and gravy and we heard they made the best version of it here. We arrived around 10:30am on Wednesday. There is limited parking and you have to pay .25 cents for every 15 minutes. The limited parking isn't a problem for those that can walk but mom can barely handle walking a few feet. Since it was slow time we had no problem finding a spot right outside their door. For most people not having a booth or chairs that have sides for the arms there is no issue, but again, with mom it was difficult for her to land in a hard seat with no arms. I brought her pillow and assisted her as she got in her seat. Mom is 84 and has severe arthritis and Parkinson's ; she is vibrant but really needs the creature comforts when she dines out. Eating out is our 'big outing' so we enjoy trying new places to eat at. I was surprised to learn we had to order at the counter, had to order water in a bottle, got our coffee in a paper cup - but hey, it's all fun in the trying new places so no biggie. The coffee was strong, smooth and very good. Since we arrived when no one was there our food was delivered in a timely manner, was served hot and was delicious! The scrambled eggs were fluffy and very tasty. Mom really enjoyed her biscuits and gravy. The cook/chef is very good. I loved my meal but was surprised at how full I was after eating just half my meal. I requested a to-go box and was presented with one of those god-awful, 'save-the-environment' cardboard, flap the tops over each other boxes. No thanks, I left my food there as I know from past experience, my food ends up tasting like cardboard and the lid pops open risking my food falling out. Great addition to the downtown Mt. Clemens vibe. We are glad that we tried it but we will leave it to the young, healthy downtown crowd.

Cute little diner. We went during Downtown's Spooktacular. They were pretty busy but handled everything very gracefully. FYI Big portions! We will definitely be going back!

    Corned Beef Hash

So excited to find a new breakfast option close to home. We opted for the corned beef hash and southern fried chicken and egg. Both meals were exceptional. Staff members were kind and food came out hot and fresh. For newbie's: you place your order at the counter and then sit down. They definitely worked on maximizing their space for seating. Will absolutely be back and can't wait to try other items.

I let her know that. When I went in, it was early in the morning around 9 AM so barely anyone was there. I told her I wanted an iced coffee and asked for her syrup flavors that they had. She showed me the flavors which were quite a variety which made me excited to try. I saw that they had almond flavor and I asked her what flavor would go with that and her response was. I don't know. I'm not a coffee person. I don't really drink coffee in my mind. I'm like this is supposed to be a coffee shop and you don't like coffee? So I was left there feeling like wow I'm just out here on my own. I guess not a good feeling then after two minutes she was already done with my coffee and I looked at it and it was completely black. There was no milk in it and then I said well I'd like milk in my latte please she's like OK here and she poured some of the milk in and said I don't wanna overflow it . I ended up having to put tons of sugar in it because I don't think she put any flavoring in it at all. I paid almost $5 for a watered down horrible iced latte. The only good thing about this place was the ambience was so cute but unfortunately because of this experience, I have no interest to go back or refer this place to anybody. You should not be charging almost 5 dollars for watered down coffee and definitely need to get employees that actually like coffee or know something about coffee so that people can have the overall experience that they deserve if they're going to spend five dollars on coffee.

I could see meeting a friend for coffee or getting some remote work done here. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted warmly and everyone who helped us was friendly. I also got the spinach feta croissant and it was delicious - definitely recommend. My sister got the tiramisu latte, which she also loved. They have a pretty big pastry case with many yummy desserts that I will be checking out next time. Prices seemed a tad high, especially for the specialty drinks, but what isn't expensive these days?
