I've been going to Santino's for a very long time. The food is always excellent especially their specials. It's by far the best place for food at any pizzeria in the area. The owner always uses quality ingredients and his prices are always reasonable. When you dine in they start you with the most delicious bread and oil. A few of my favorite dishes here are the manicotti, shrimp Fra diavolo, and any of his specials with lobster. I have not been to a pizzeria yet with better Italian food. For awhile the takeout orders were made correctly and delivered in a timely manner. Got a delivery yesterday. Ordered a pizza WELL DONE. Confirmed. Came Barely cooked on the bottom. Ordered Cobb salad. NO ONIONS, NO TOMATOES; said it does not include cheese on the menu, so I said OK. Came with CHEESE! I don't know what else to say to get the orders right! Absolutely disgusted with how I was treated today after coming here since 2017. I did not deserve this. The owner has always been respectful to me and I never get upset in retail establishments because I've been in upper management for a decade and I never complain. Today definitely changed that ( for reference, Santino's once sent me moldy bread that was 50% green and I still didn't get angry- just for whoever thinks I'm just overreacting). Whoever the guy is that was covering for the owner today on 4/25/26 was the absolute worst (when I asked for his name, he screamed Mr Santinos and hung up on me none of the staff would give me his name either.) He was extremely condescending, misogynistic, called me honey, and spoke to me like I was an idiot. I was telling him about a serious issue they have with their pricing that can get you seriously fined and audited for life, but after speaking to him and someone else there that gaslit me, I realize that they are aware that they are charging extra fees and they do not care. I have a bunch of fees that I have documentation of now that I found their menu at home that they are sneaking onto the bill. It's illegal to charge a fee for using a debit card, the pricing on their new menus are wrong, and they gave me two different receipts with different pricing. The guy who flipped out on me was trying to say that the extra cost was the credit card fee and written in as tax, which isn't how tax works. He said I have to pay uncle sam ( obviously this guy has no idea how the world works because tax goes to the state and credit card fees go towards credit card companies for processing) so that isn't "paying uncle sam". Then the lady who got on the phone to "explain calmly to me" told me that the reason I was charged 14.05 for my sub instead of the price listed on their menu is because they charge for all the extra toppings, but if you look on the menu it explicitly states that all of those toppings and seasoning are included. All across the board something that I have no interest in ever entertaining again at this point. I will do everything in my power to point everyone to Torino's and Amano's from now on and whenever anyone asks about Santino's I'll make sure to let them know. I'm also going to the state about the price discrepancies. Although you guys might all think I'm an idiot, my experience in management for over a decade has given me all the avenues to know how to document this properly. Get better management. Treat people better. You're charging luxury prices now, act like it. read more

This place use to make very good pizza I'm not sure if there are different cooks or their ingredients have changed but the food is not the same. My pizza was very salty and soggy. They delivered the wrong order to my house I called they asked if I could bring it back I brought it back they made me another pie and placed the box on top of the pizza stove. I have given this place so many chances and they continue to let me down. The place is blocks away from where I live so it makes sense that it would be my go to pizzeria. However, delivery takes forever (over an hour) the food is always cold once it gets to me and on more than one occasion I have received the wrong order. On top of everything else, the quality just is not worth it. The only saving grace about this place is the people there are so nice. Unfortunately, it does not make up for the overpriced, mediocre food. We moved to the area 3 weeks ago and have already ordered takeout from here twice. Pizza is great: sauce, amount of cheese, crust. Even heated up leftover, still good. Staff was very accommodating w takeout supplies like napkins plates etc. We have also tried the sandwiches. Meatball parm sub was delicious. They can customize what you want on a cold sub but we got the ham and salami as suggested via the menu - huge serving and good price. Also recommend the Philly cheesesteak with onions. We look forward to many happy weekends with santinos. When you walk inside it smells soooo good and you know you're about to eat a great meal. Looks like a nice place to sit and eat too, they have nicer dishes like pastas and entrees to enjoy. read more

This place used to be great but the ingredients and dough really sucks now. Not sure what happened here. Maybe they are cutting costs on ingredients to increase profits. Crust is hard and tastes like cardboard. Sauce is very watery and unflavored. Not homemade at all. Cheap jar sauce you can get at Walmart. Very disappointed with them. There was a time when Santino's was a really nice place to dine at however the quality has started to go down , they no longer serve linens their servers are of lower quality and they don't set the lighting ambiance nor play good music while having dinner. So it's COVID-19 and again I know businesses are feeling the pressure to keep themselves open. This does not quantify for poor customer service and care. I ordered online and placed my order 30 min before I even went to pick up. Once I got there my order was not ready, ok I understand that. The men working behind the counters were very rude to everyone coming into the restaurant - it made me feel very awkward just watching. After our order was ready they handed everything off to us and I had to check to see if we had everything - we had a dessert missing and we were already charged for it. We were told that it would be removed, which I do not know if it ever happened because we never got a receipt. The food was very good, but I was not very happy with the service. I decided to give this place a try after driving past it for a year. I ordered chicken franchise over spaghetti. I can honestly say it was the worst franchise I have ever had. It tasted like only lemon on a bed of dry plain pasta. If you can mess a simple recipe up like that, I'd have to say I would never try anything else from there ever. I just had the worst pizza in my life tonight.. I had grandma pie & Sicilian pizza both were soggy & the top of the pizza crust was burnt. The bottom under cooked. We have been ordering from santino's usually about 2x a week for the last few months since they reopened after the fire.The food really isn't anything special and there prices are on par with the competitors in the area Tonight we ordered 2 dinners to be delivered and we wanted a side order of spaghetti as well.Here is where it gets weird.. Santino's won't sell single side orders of pasta! Yes that's right a Italian Restaraunt refusing to sell pasta!!!!! I thought my wife was kidding me after she placed the order. I have placed several catering orders with SAntino's before. They catered a small Christmas dinner for my Knights of Columbus group and everyone raved about the food and how delicious it was and kept asking me where I got it from. They delivered on time, hot and set it up. The amount of food was ample for the number of guests and some took hoe the extras. I am regular patron of this restaurant (for years) and order all the time but sadly by his place has gone downhill. Numerous times our delivery orders have either been missing things or we end up getting a pizza box with no pizza in it or no pepperoni on it. Just tonight I ordered pasta and requested chicken cutlet and not grilled chicken and it came with grilled chicken. Paying to much money for no one to pay attention to the orders leaving the restaurant. Sadly we are going to have to take our business elsewhere. read more

Wow! Not sure what happened 11 months ago or a year ago, but there must be a döppleganger Santinos in the area. This became one of our go to places a few years ago. During and hence COVID they remain in our once a week takeout repertoire. Hint: We never do takeout delivery from anywhere - ever. We prefer to pick-up. Anyway, let's get to the review. Ordered a large pie w/sausage, pepperoni, mushroom, and onion. An oder of fried calamari, and a small (8) order of chicken wings. The pizza was exceptionally good last night, but it never disappoints. We did not specify thin crust, but their traditional tends to lean towards a thin crust (a real tossed dough). The toppings were plentiful and tasty. It's not Brooklyn, NY but it's pretty darn good! Not soupy w/sauce, not over cheesy, not that chain food, nasty sweet, gooey mess ppl seem to think even resembles pizza. The crust & sauce really make a good pie, so off the break Santinos delivers the flavor. AND you're not soaking up a 1/4 cup of grease off the top b/c their ingredients are -wait for it- obviously quality and not bottom basement bulk garbage. The chicken wings by takeout standards usually deliver. They're advertised as Buffalo wings, BUT they're NOT drenched in that hideous sauce. There's some kick to them b/c they're seemingly seasoned w/hot sauce before being fried. They thankfully put that nasty-arse Buffalo wing sauce on the side. No, you don't have to request it, that's how they come. They're real chicken wings too, not oversized, thick skinned monstrosities. Not overly breaded or salty (9 out of 10 times). Crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. The calamari is pretty standard. Sometimes it steams up (like last night) on the drive home and the crisp gets a bit soggy, but... The order is still lightly breaded and tender. You're not chewing rubber bands. The marinara sauce is delightfully light and fresh. We've ordered salads, pasta dishes, samplers, clams, etc. Never been disappointed yet in over 4 years. We used to go to another Pizzeria in Sayreville. Their pizzas were epic gastronomical creations. They used to do a Feast of the Seven Fishes at Christmas. However, the quality overall waned, in-house service sputtered, and we had a disastrous Christmastime experience that ruined it for us. We've never returned. So until Santinos doesn't cut the grade for these two Brooklyn transplants they'll keep getting our patronage. read more

We have been dining at and ordering from Santinos in Parlin for years. When the owner is there, everything goes fine and the food is exactly when we ordered. Apparently, there seems to be a change in both who is running things and who is taking and checking to make sure the orders are correct. We have been having problems getting the orders the way we want and they are sometimes not being checked before they go out for delivery. Seems there are younger, less experienced staff trying to do the job that the owner used to do when he was there. We have not been happy for a couple months now. We have been trying out other restaurants to compare. Unless things go back to the way they were, we're going to step away. read more

It takes more than great food and good servers to make a restaurant excellent. We have always loved the food and the servers are excellent but we have a complaint when it comes to reservations. We are regulars there just about every Saturday night. Even when dining first opened up during the pandemic we were there when no one else would set foot inside of a restaurant. We always call for a reservation for a particular booth. We called today for our usual reservation and was told by a gentleman named Ali that it was all set. We walked in a few minutes before our appointed time and found that we were bumped from our reservation in favor of this other couple. We wouldn't be upset if it was the only time this happened but it wasn't. Each time it's always been these same two people who are given priority after we are promised the table we asked for well in advance.Despite the great food tonight was the last straw . Obviously our money is not as good as these peoples so we will take our business elsewhere. As was previously stated it takes more than food and service, it's also honoring a comitment and not showing preferential treatment to someone who is deemed more important than you are. read more

This was a nice serendipitous surprise after my usual haunt across the street was closed unexpectedly. The slice of pizza I ate - vodkas sauces baked ziti with capers(?) - was just the thing to hit the spot. There was no one there by the time - customer-wise- but the team that was looking like it was toward the end of their night was more than ready to make sure I had what I needed to get me back on the road. I just moved to south amboy from old bridge and have been trying to find my go to pizza place in the area since I last lived in old bridge and was blessed with so many good spots there and in matawan as well. So this is my third place trying out since the first 2 were both absolute trash. I got there plain thin crust pizza first and it was amazing. I was glad I foundry found my spot. I would have rated that pizza a good 3.8/5 maybe even a 4! So I decide to order from them again and get the same thing. I get it and it doesn't even look the same, I take a but out of the first slice and litterally almost threw up. Not only was it just fowl, the flavor of the sauce was fowl like it had gone bad or something and the texture was litterally soggy and greesy. The box itself was flimsy from absorbing all the grease. Me and the girl I was with didn't even finish one slice each before throwing the whole thing out and thus was a $25 pizza after paying the tip. Strongly recommend never going here unless you want to play pizza roulette. I really should have called them to get my money back but I didn't want to kill the vibe since I was with a female chillin. I never, ever post a negative review esp towards a business like this- however, this is needed. My fiancè & I have ordered from here a number of times. The last few times the food was alright, did not complain though. Tonight, we ordered a buffalo chicken pie, a italian sub & soda. when we got the pie and bit into the chicken- i will let the photos speak for themselves. This is NOT why I'm leaving a negative review- even though uncooked chicken can KILL someone. When we called, the manager continued to go back and forth with us telling us there was no way and he can ASSURE us the chicken is cooked. He then offered a refund for the pie- which he did not give- and really should have refunded the whole order because of how disgusting it was. we had him send a driver to get the pie so he can see it for himself- of course never heard back after that. will NEVER order from here again, also tossed the italian sub because of how turned off we were from the pizza. AND yes unfortunately we were both halfway into our first slice when we discovered so this uncooked nastiness was in our mouth. read more

MEATBALLS! They sure know how to make a meatball. They are, by far, the best I've had in a long time. It didn't seem to be an abundance of bread in the meatball (the way I prefer). There was a nice after taste that lingered on for a while. Someday I'll treat myself to a meatball parmigiana sub and maybe I'll just do it on garlic bread! There are two meatballs in a side order. Straight garbage. Got a chicken parm sandwich. Rubbery pink stringy chicken that was barely palatable. If I wasn't so hungry I wouldn't have eaten most of it. I don't feel so good now. I like patronizing all kinds of small businesses in the community and do so very regularly for a variety of reasons. On a recent visit had chicken parmigiana. Ordering on the phone was pleasant and easy. I picked the order up 15 minutes later. Everything was ready quickly as promised. The pickup process was polite and efficient. However, the chicken was dry and lacked tenderness I prefer. Portion was the smallest in the area and price the highest. Very light on cheese and minimal sauce on the food. There are at least 5 other similar places within a 2 mile radius that I assess as either very good or excellent. In an area with so many quality options it's not easy to stand out. For these reasons, I am not likely to return. read more
