We recently dined at Nunzio's Italian kitchen (new ownership) and had a fantastic experience. We started with the fried calamari, which was perfectly prepared and a great way to begin the meal. To our surprise, three huge garlic knots arrived at the table--they were absolutely heavenly and worth the visit on their own! Also received a sample of a chicken Parm with vodka sauce on a garlic knot, incredible! The service was friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout the evening. The dining room, especially the back room, was clean, inviting, and provided a comfortable atmosphere to enjoy our meal. Great food, excellent service, and a warm environment make this a place we'll gladly return to. Highly recommended! Came here after Liquid Church at the Sayreville high School to catch up with my parents. Only a few minutes away from the HS so we decided to stop by here. Wasn't too busy when we came around 1pm. They have slices at the front or you can dine in the back with table service. Service was really good, our waiter, young guy, was very attentive and gave us time to review the menu. It's BYOB fyi but we ordered calamari, salad, a pizza and some pasta. Everything overall was really good. Pasta was just a little oily, but we did get the chicken and shrimp penne. Can't complain though bc it was tasty and the lunch and dinner pricing here is competitive. $12 for a pasta seems like a steal these days, but I can appreciate I'm not paying an arm and a leg to catch up with my parents over a good meal. Nestled in a strip mall, Nunzios is a great find. Our waiter was helpful and friendly as we asked about recommendations from the menu. The string onion fries were excellent and flavorful and they were followed by salad and garlic knots that were soft, tasty and had the. Perfect amount of garlic. Our entrees were wonderful. Nunzio's is definitely more than just a restaurant. This was a whole pizza experience! Now the menu is very overwhelming because of the many options. However, I don't think you could go wrong with any choice you make because everything was delicious! The pizza tastes so fresh, it's like nothing I've ever had before. I'm only giving Nunzios two stars because the pizza was decent. Everything else was underrated- the appetizer (calamari), my main dish (fettuccini alfredo), and especially the horrible service my guests and I received on 11/12. Not only was the waitress rude and incredibly dismissive, but she also wasn't attentive. If there's one thing I know, it's good and authentic Italian food, and to me, Nunzios didn't deliver. I'm also used to fantastic hospitality, and again, they fell short in that department. The calamari didn't taste fresh (it tasted reheated), and the fettuccini after waiting over 45 minutes was extremely bland. With many options in the area, I can honestly say that I'm okay with not revisiting Nunzios. read more

The people do not listen! I'm a people pleaser, & NEVER would purposely try to hurt somebody's feelings or make them feel like they did their job wrong, but when they consistently mess up orders it's so hard! I go here because it's convenient but honestly I don't think I will be returning. Please don't waste your money. Dominos food has more flavor. Such a shame. Came to Nunzio's as a party of four, on a Saturday night, and had a fantastic meal with pleasant service. Nunizo's can easily be overlooked as it is located in a shopping plaza, but the quaint pizza establishment is not one to be passed by. For appetizers we got whipped ricotta and stuffed pepperoni bread. The stuffed pepperoni bread was inhaled, so unfortunately not pictures here. Next, for our dinner we split two pizzas- vampire repellent, and ricotta and sauce for me (which they had no issue accommodating). The pizzas were cooked perfectly and had a fluffy crust, which I prefer. Pros: BYOB, large menu, and fresh food Cons: Closes early (IMO), so just be aware when making your reservation. (We were not rushed out whatsoever.) Overall, the portions are BIG! The service was friendly, and the food was even better. I will definitely be returning. read more

Really nice pizza spot in front of a sit down restaurant. I've only been to pick up pizza from the front and they've always been delicious! They are known for having different types of pizza, like peanut butter or chicken and waffles, even Mac and cheese. In being consistent with trying different pizza nearby I came across Nunzios Kitchen. I ordered for delivery and my pie and calamari was ready and delivered within a half hour. I liked the pizza but next time I will ask for it well done (not a criticism of the pizza just a personal preference). The meiwei calamari was really good. The sauce really took it over the top. I am so sad the original owners sold. This was my favorite go to restaurant and now I barely go there. Every time I order there is some issue. Today I called in an ordered from the menu online and explained exactly what I wanted. When I picked up the order and got it home it was something completely different. I called back and was told we changed the menu 3 months ago, when it's still online. Was given a completely different item and such a waste of money. Told they no longer make what I ordered. While driving back home on the GS Parkway and hungry for a quick Pizza dinner we used yelp to help find us the best pizza in the area. And BAM, Yelped nailed it with Nunzios! I wish I remember to take photos of our pizzas but we got a thin crust meatball and a thin crust margherita pizza and they were scrumptious. Cooked to perfection and a thin crispy crunchy crust. Just what we were liking for! Great service as well-- super friendly people working here always! I remember the last time we were there it was our first time and we got free cannoli desserts. We will definitely be back again. Oh and the best part... our meal with my husbands soda was only $16! We will certainly be back! Oh and I can't forget the warm soft bread with the great olive oil and spices and cheese they serve to start your meal off. The reviews are great and I've heard great things about this place, but for some reason my taste buds do not agree. I moved to this area 6 months ago, so we've been constantly searching for good spots we can regular at. From the last 4 times we've been here, I've tried their plain pizza, the sausage and pepperoni pizza, the wu tang pizza, the chicken wings, their cheese steaks. I wish I could say that one of those dishes were amazing, but they weren't. The place itself is very clean IMO (I've seen other people complain about this) and their delivery service is always on time, so I definitely give them credit for this. But as far as the food, I was hoping for more. Would I come here again? Sure, the foods not horrible, but I would definitely try something else aside from the items listed above. read more
