We tried Toney's for the first time. I'm an 80 yr old disabled veteran and my wife in her middle 70's is from the Philly area. I had a spaghetti dinner and order my wife a Cheese Steak and we also order a pizza to go. When my wife asked for ketchup for her Cheese steak the waitress said, we don't have ketchup and my wife told her she can't eat the sandwich without ketchup and the waitress asked would you like to exchange it for something my wife said no. The cook was nice and offered us tomato sauce and my wife said no thank you cause I only eat this with ketchup. When we went to pay, the lady said, why didn't you turn it back into the kitchen and I said, isn't that what the waitress does? My wife and I both tasted the sandwich and it was ok for me but I didn't know what a cheese steak tastes like. When the lady looked at our table and said, you ate 1/2 I said no! We both had a taste and the lady said well we will charge you 1/2. The cook, a very nice man said take it home and put ketchup on it and told his wife not to charge us. My wife was so embarrassed as the onlookers made her feel like we were trying to get something for nothing, that was not a good feeling at all especially since we not only ordered dinner and a pizza to go. I felt that they treated us very badly just because my wife couldn't eat the sandwich. What a way to treat two elderly people. Amazing everything! We got the chicken parm dinner and a calzone. The quality of the food was too notch. You can tell it's homemade and they get high quality chicken and cheese. I'm a little high maintenance when it comes to my chicken but this was great. Pricing was super reasonable and we left with a ton of leftovers. Comfortable, clean dining area. The hours on apple map say they close at 10, but when I called for a pick up order at 8:40, they let me know they actually close at 9. I said nvm I didn't want to place an order & do that to them, but they said it was no problem. When showing up, I found out I called the wrong number somehow & they did not mind making me my order. First visit to this truly hidden gem, as it is hidden in a strip mall on 220. Clean and friendly when you walk in, with a very full menu of the usual suspects. Pizza, Calzone, pasta, subs and salads. Had the 18" Meat Lover and it was very good, almost too much topping. It is definitely NY style pie and the crust was almost to Wood Fire quality and thin and crispy. She recommended the garlic bread with mozzarella and it was . Mozzarella sticks were great along with pizza. Tony was there and he is very interactive with customers which was fun! They were great with lots of garlic on them. We had the super supreme pizza for dinner. It was a good size pizza 18". And it was loaded with toppings. It is a very thin crust but very flavor-able . I think I could eat pizza everyday. I have tried many around jacksonville based on recommendations and the myriad of "Top 10... Top 5" etc. but I keep coming back here as the best crust, sauce and cheese. All three are equally important. Tony doesn't get the hype since he is not in a cute or trendy area, but if you want good pizza he is worth the trip. read more

Perfect place to be on a rainy day (sunny day too)! As soon as I opened the door to go into the restaurant, I was met with delicious smelling aromas of pizza sauce, garlic, and pasta. There were four of us - I had the grilled chicken salad with balsamic vinegar salad dressing and garlic bread, one had the spaghetti and garlic bread lunch special (large tasty portion of spaghetti and she ate it all). The other two had the two slice pizza lunch special with each one's choice of toppings. Lunch special prices very good. Everyone enjoyed their meals and left with full bellies, stating all would be coming back again. Want to try either the lasagna and chicken parmigiana. Til next time! read more

I called to place a order since the online doesn't place orders. I ordered a small supreme with Alfredo sauce in place of her mariana, a greek salad, and moterella sticks. I was told 25-30 minutes, so I waited in the parking lot. Never called me ro tell me it was done. Apparently it been done alot sooner than 25-30 minutes cause I waited exactly that. Walked in and no one was at the front area but I heard talking from the back. So I called out for a few minutes waiting saying hello, no one heard me or walked up front. So then I walked around and seen some workers and said hello again, finally a man walked to the front and asked what I ordered and I told him and he went looking and found my sticks in a bag, and found the pizza under 2 others, I asked him if it was a supreme with white sauce and doesn't show me but looks at it, says something I didn't understand. He then started talking to me about my puppers I was holding and I said, she was gonna be eating the meat off the pizza, he opens up the box and takes a pepperoni off with his fingers, trys to feed Queenie, she declines it, then goes and gets a cold pepperoni and trys to feed it to her, she declines it, hands it to me to feed her, she doesn't want it. And a woman walked up and was looking for the rest of my order, she found my salad in a bag. I paid $30 for the meal. Not to bad, but its just me and pup eating it, so kinda high. I was referred to go there by a sweet lady I met walking. She raved how good the food was and the service. I don't get the receipt which I was not happy about since I put those in my fetch app. I didn't ask for one cause the man kept talking to me and got me off track. I still added a tip. And I look at the food when I get in car and the sticks are cold and cheese not melted pulling apart like I was hoping they would be. Just like the frozen kind. Disappointed, the pizza was not the supreme it mentioned. No sausage for Queenie. She wouldn't eat their pepperoni for some reason. So she didn't get anything out of it. The pizza is room temperature. And the salad was not a Greek salad. Had iceberg lettuce which I hate and never eat, not to mention a small portion for a hefty price. So the experience was not a good one. I mean who touches a customers food and without permission. I really should have walked out and left not paying or taking that food with me. I love their pizza!!! We live a little outside their delivery zone, and I am so glad they still deliver to us!

I am giving this 1 star because out of everything at least the staff was pleasant. The food was HORRIBLE! I had the chicken parmigiana and the chicken was one of those frozen hockey picks that you buy in the freezer section of the grocery store. There was no flavor or seasoning at all. My husband got a calzone and it had no flavor either and the ham and pepperoni was the cheap nasty stuff. Also the soft drinks were $3.00 and you have to pay $1.00 for refills! I don't know who is giving this place 4 & 5 stars but I would give it 1/2 of a star. Save your money and go somewhere better. read more

This is our number one favorite pizza place in the area. The sauce is really flavorful and yummy. They deliver. They have good options if you're not feeling pizza. But we always are at Tony's! Definitely recommend. Wayyyyy better than the chain restaurant pizza we would normally get. read more
