What can I say? This place is your average Mexican restaurant and it gets the job done. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't particularly good either. Just average. I had the burrito grande with beef that had tomato, sour cream, and beans. There were sides of beans, rice, and lettuce as well. The portions were smaller than a lot of other Mexican restaurants in town. That can either be a pro or a con depending on how you view it or on your appetite for the day. For me it was a decent size and I was full by the end, but I had no leftovers to take home. The chips and salsa were complimentary and the chips had an interesting thickness to them that I noted and liked. Both tasted fine as well. I think I'll probably come here again if invited by friends, but if I have any say in the plans I'd probably recommend a different Mexican place to visit. read more

This place is so special! For at least two years I have taken my grandma here for a taco and margarita. She has loved this place! Last week she passed away and after her funeral they were so accommodating. We had margaritas and her favorite meal to celebrate her. They were amazing for service, food, and helping us out. I was bummed when I found out Los Arcos closed but had driven past Santi's countless times on my way to Sullivan's Island. It definitely satisfied my craving and went above my expectations! We got there around 9:30 on a Friday night and there was quite a crowd of people both at tables eating and hanging at the bar. The lighting was dim and it had a neat atmosphere with lots of eclectic chandeliers and stained glass lighting fixtures. Didn't see a hostess but within seconds of choosing our own table someone swooped in with chips and salsa. Minutes later a waiter was at our side with menus. Very prompt and attentive service throughout the meal! I always go for a combo ($11.50 here) and this one had enchilada, taco and tostado with rice and beans. You get your choice of filling (beef, chicken, steak, avocado, etc). My dinner date ordered the Camerones Rellenos ($14) and holy cow were they awesome! Cheese stuffed and bacon wrapped deep fried shrimp!! They were served with rice and beans and an avocado salad which was served in an avocado skin/shell and we honestly could have eaten three more bowlfuls. read more

Their chips and salsa as well as the guacamole were pretty good but burrito was on the bland and dry side. We came here on a weekday afternoon and for awhile were the only table in the restaurant but service was still slow. I really enjoyed my first trip to Santi's in Mount Pleasant! Having worked at On the Border for 3.5 years, I was expecting a crowd for Cinco de Mayo, but we only waited 5 minutes to be sat at a cute little table tucked away by the window. The margaritas didn't have the best flavor I've ever had, but they were good enough and left a buzz. The food was great - we had chips and queso, the veggie burrito, and enchilada suizas. Everything tasted fresh and came out really fast! Though it took a few minutes to be greeted at the door, the service during the meal was fine and we had a nice time! Will definitely return, as this was much better and more authentic (with similar prices) than most Mexican restaurants in town. Recommended! :) read more

Santi's has some of the best queso dip and cheapest draft beer prices in the area. They offer a great happy hour from 3 PM to 6 PM weekday where you can get all drafts for $1 off and if you get a pitcher they'll hook you up with an appetizer. Other than the cheese dip I'm not really a fan of the other dishes that I have tried here; tacos, shrimp cocktail, and most recently the burrito grande. While the queso rocked, the other dishes fell flat and were bland tasting. The service each time I've been here hasn't really been anything to brag about. You seat yourself when you walk in; the chip guy brings out the chips and salsa right away, but it seems like we had to wait a long time for our server to show up to take our drink orders. Then after ordering drinks we wait longer than we should for them to be delivered, the servers don't really check on your table that often so you might be left sitting there with an empty drink for a little while. The food after ordered is pretty fast to the table; but if you want a drink refill you might have to grab the attention of your server. read more

I'm heartbroken over our recent experience at Santi's in Mt. Pleasant. Especially since we frequented this and the downtown location. After getting our chips and salsa we were waiting and waiting and waiting for someone to take our drink & food order. They weren't short staffed. They were all standing around talking & on their phones. My hubby politely asked if someone could take our order. The waitress came up visibly upset, muttering under her breath. She side swiped a chair at the table next to us as she walked away after taking our order- she almost fell down! Then every other waitperson in the place proceeded to give us the evil eyes whenever they passed our table. We almost left. I was worried they'd do something to our food. My order was wrong but I wasn't about to send it back at this point. Then as I waited to pay the bill someone intentionally squirted me with water! I have never been treated so rudely. The food here is terrible. Puddles of grease and no flavor. I sent my food back because I thought my first order was a mistake, the second dish they brought out was same disgusting looking plate with puddles of grease around the beans. I've heard good things about the other location and was coming back from Sullivan's island and stopped in for a couple of tacos. The tacos were soft shell tacos. Didn't have an option. When I get lunch out of the office I want something relatively fast, good quality, good atmosphere, and good service. I have been to Santi's more times than I can count and have never had a bad experience. I love the food. Tostadas are a favorite as is the seafood soup, others I know love the enchiladas or tamales. Wait staff and cooks are always super accommodating and foot comes very quickly. I have organized two parties at Santi's for my family and both were a huge success. I have no reservations in recommending Santi's to anyone! read more

I'm actually shocked at how good this place is after reading these mixed reviews. Their guacamole was some of the best I've ever had. I love that they bring the chips hot and fresh and keep them coming because I'm pretty sure I ate an entire basket by myself. They were THAT good. The chorizo queso was a little much for me, very stringy cheese, not creamy like I was expecting. The shrimp/avocado dish made up for it though. My first time to this location, as I was a frequent visitor to the one downtown at the beginning of Meeting Street Road. As to this Mt. Pleasant location, it is louder and more raucous, even on a Thursday afternoon. No doubt due to the separate bar with lots of big TVs showing news or sports.The three (3) taco dinner that I had here actually seems bigger than the one which I have had at the downtown location. The fillers (lettuce and such) may have been the reason for the larger size, but it did not "water down" if you will the good taste. As to service, a bit lacking, which I initially pegged up to the pretty well full restaiurant, but when it came time for the check, the "crowd" was down to about a dozen in view, and it was wait and wait, causing the four stars. Thankfully my wait was quite enjoyable due to my female companion, an enjoyable conversationalist but I am not here to review her.... Would I return to this location? In a heartbeat! By the way the house margarita is quite tart, but good. read more

Perfect example of a place I'd love to give separate stars for service and food. 4 stars for mainly amazing tacos but everything else has been delicious too. The taco dinner comes with three tacos and I always get one of each meat. Yummmmmy!!! The appetizer quesadilla is surprisingly delicious, too! My margaritas were generic but strong, no real complaints there. Volleyball court next door for Santi customers and a great outdoor area to sit and eat. Highly recommended for food, drinks, happy hour, and perfect for when you're heading back from Sullivan's! On a different note... Service was rough. I would say 1 star my first trip and maybe 3 stars any other times. They took forever to acknowledge us when we first walked in (it was empty too so we almost walked out!!) but then the food was decently quick. I decided to ignore the initial service and go back again because the food was great! The other times service was quick but checking on us in between was slow. Love the Santis Downtown Charleston, but the one in Mt. Pleasant just hasn't done it for me. I have only had bad experiences. One time they over charged me $80 dollars, another time we had to wait 15-20 minutes before we were ever acknowledged and after we got our drinks they remained empty and not refilled the entire time. Not good service and their hours are a little odd. My friends and I went one night during the week and they were closed at 8pm. What kind of dinner place/bar is closed at 8pm? I don't have anything bad to say about the Santis downtown, which is why this is hard for me to give them such a bad review. I understand they are new but they need to pull it together because since I moved out to mt. pleasant, they have lost a regular local due to the lack of organization & poor service. read more

Hey guys, this isn't rocket science. You could REALLY do much better without too much effort. I have been a fan of the downtown location since it opened and eat there several times a month. As for the Mount Pleasant restaurant, where to begin? I stopped in for lunch yesterday around noon. Maybe two customers in the place. I was promptly brought my menu and asked what I wanted to drink, but no chips and salsa (a Santi's staple) were delivered to my table. The Mexican tacos lack from their downtown presentation and flavor (how hard would it be to keep it consistent across TWO restaurants?). Halfway through my meal, I asked another waiter for the chips and salsa. These were delivered promptly (finally) but WITHOUT anything to pour the salsa in (REALLY?). The chips were fresh, but lacked ANY seasoning (salt) and were inedible. A shame really, since they could do a killer business if they could just keep a level of consistency with downtown. How about rotating the kitchen help/waitstaff from the Charleston location on a regular basis? read more
