My AMSEC safe did not worked for some reasons, called AMSEC company, they told me to change battery, which I did already. That point they just told me, I have problem with locks like I did not know! I rarely write reviews, but i had to give props to Charlie from Santore & Son. I have a drop safe with a specific key (one that i had misplaced (ok - i lost it). There were things I had to retrieve THAT day, and though i called other "locksmiths", none had the ability to actually "crack" a safe. He patiently explained all of the possibilities with a lid this old (66 years) and then made some good do-it-ur-self suggestions. I tried these as time went on and about 1.5 years later I called Charlie again. He again took generous time talking and explaining the difficulties...he said he would be happy to come out but, if the last resort was turning the safe into Swiss cheese, he would only charge a call out fee if we didn't want to proceed. VERY HONEST MAN! He fixed my safe, took absolute care of cleaning it, and actually remarked on how great of condition it was in. Ok, this is pre service review.... and well deserved. I have a 30 year old data safe that has a busted lock. We had to get paperwork out and it would not open. I called 4-5 locksmiths in the LA region, nothing, several sold me to replace batteries in digital dial, which I had done 3x.
