The price to value ratio at Santos Pizza is the best in Orange County. Cashier was friendly and hospitable- I enjoyed spending my time and money here. Pizza uses a high quality low moisture mozzarella. There's strong structural integrity in its under carriage which makes it easy to fold. Crust is crispy but also pleasantly chewy. Some of the best pizza I've ever had! The crust is a perfect balance or crispy, but slightly bready, and foldable, the pepperoni are the little cup type and they have a perfect little crunch to them as well. The staff is also great! A little greasy but not to the point of needing napkins to soak it up. It's an outdoor walk up type place so there isn't seating but there's a wood counter enclosure where you can stand and eat and there's also a bench right in front on the sidewalk. I randomly saw santos on a Thursday around lunch time and the bright colors caught my eye. I parked by a near parking structure with free parking for 1hr. I ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza, order came out fast. The pizza was delicious, crust was good, the pepperoni was crispy. $4.15 for a slice of pizza was cool, The lunch special prices were also great, $5 for a slice of pizza and soda. Visited during their one year anniversary after all the great reviews and it was just ok. The pizza dough was pretty great but they overdid it with the cornmeal and it made the pizza flat and gritty textured. Ordered a pepperoni and a cheese pizza that we ate pretty quickly in the hot sun. They only have full sugar sodas, no diet or zeros. Service was fast and easy. You order at a window and eat on the sunny side of the street. They have some standing under shade. read more

Ordered 10 pizzas for pick-up for a school event and they were nice to give us a little discount. Pizzas were a hit with the kids. This is really essentially a tiny walk-up shop where you can order pizza by the slice as well as full pizzas. The only down size is there is no parking so unfortunately the mom that went to pick up the order had to illegally park with hazzards on in the red zone while waiting to pick up the order. read more

Recently discovered this small pizza joint in downtown Santa Ana and so glad I did. Loved the variety menu items and flavors, it all sounds so gooood. I also love that you can just get a slice or cheese or pepperoni pizza for under $5! Their pizza tastes just as good as it smells. I think I just found my favorite local pizza spot! On a Saturday night, I was craving pizza and this was one of the few places open late (2am!), so we decided to give it a try. We called ahead and they told us it would be ready in 20 minutes, which was gave us enough time to drive over and find parking. Downtown Santa Ana can be a little tricky to find parking with a lot of people going to bars and limited street parking, but we managed. The spot itself is truly a hole in the wall with just a walk-up window to order and pick up your pizza. The staff was very friendly and even thanked us for calling ahead. We ordered half Supreme De Luxe and half Hirohata with hot honey on top. The worker mentioned those were their most popular. To our surprise, it was HUGE! The pieces were like Costco slices. I didn't realize it was a large pizza, which definitely justified the $39 price tag. It was loaded with toppings, and I appreciated that the meats weren't overly salty or spicy. The thin-cut sausage and crisp pepperoni added crunchy texture, and the crust was just right by being not too thin and not too thick. The hot honey brought everything together with just the right balance of sweet and spicy. Specifically, the Hirohata proved that pineapple absolutely belongs on pizza. The sweet pineapple paired perfectly with the heat from the jalapeños. It had a totally different flavor profile from the Supreme, which was equally as delicious. Honestly, it was so good I struggled to stop eating, and ended up eating more than I planned. It's THE spot for delicious takeout pizza or a late-night bite while bar hopping. I also spent my winter and summer breaks in New York as I was growing up, if that means anything. I've had L'indistrie (both locations, and yes, the original one in Brooklyn is better), but honestly I prefer a slice from Paulie Gee's in Greenpoint. For anyone who isn't familiar, one of Paulie Gee's specialties is the Hellboy, which I think started off the trend of putting Mike's Hot Honey on pepperoni pizza. It's such a simple addition, but a revolutionary one for your tastebuds! It's gotta have the right balance of sauce, cheese, and pepperoni in every bite. And it should have a slight crunch, not be super droopy, and fold easily using one hand. That's what I think of when I think of an ideal slice for me. Anyway, I have been searching far and wide for a slice that sparks that level of joy in me. I actually really loved Shin's Pizza in Cypress Park, but they closed :( Then there are a few I've yet to try, such as Secret Pizza, Weirdoughs, and Wallflour Pizza. But I've had Appolonia, Esco's, Danny Boy's... all good slices! But there was always something missing. I had no idea that I'd have my pizza ratatouille moment in Downtown Santa Ana, of all places, but it happened. Super friendly staff, and the slices are perfectly heated. I had to wait a while before eating mine, otherwise I'd burn my mouth and tongue! But yes, it was bliss upon first bite. Tomato sauce, pepperoni with crispy edges, the cheese, the crust, and the hot honey drizzle were like a symphony reaching its crescendo in my mouth. Best of all? Reasonable prices. 18 inch slice for $5 ($4 if you don't want hot honey). This is THE spot to beat and would easily be a popular slice in New York. read more

I had a wonderful experience at Santos Pizza. When I walked up, the menu was easily accessible and I opted for the Pepperoni Pizza Slice with hot honey drizzle which was highly recommended by Alex. The service was fast as the pizza was ready immediately and the slice tasted fresh. The slice itself was sturdy yet chewy and I liked the fact that they were confident enough in their own cheese to joke that Parmesan wasn't necessary. I attended an event where their pizza was picked up by a member of the group for all to share. As our meeting went forward we could all see the pizza boxes and that freshly baked pizza smell was tempting everyone. Thankfully it was soon time to dig in, and yes, it was worth the wait. I tried three different specialties and while one was my favorite the other two were close seconds. We visited Santos Pizza twice in November, first on Day of the Dead and then again the following weekend with my girlfriend. Now, her and I are usually more of the fine-and-wine-dining type, but we were craving pizza and decided to give this spot a try... and wow, we absolutely loved it. The crust is thin, the flavors are amazing, and the pizza isn't greasy at all. One slice is big enough to actually fill you up, which I appreciated. And even though I'm not a big pizza eater (I usually try to avoid the calories), this is one place I'm willing to make the exception for! After all, I will be burning the calories dancing right after! What really stood out to me was the gentleman working there, he recognized me on my second visit and thanked me for coming back.
