I had Salmon Clay Pot while my husband had a beef pho. The salmon was okay. It was quite salty to my liking. The pho was good. It wasn't salty and the broth was quite clean. Service needs improvement. Our food was served minus the utensils and napkins. I had to personally ask for them. Overall, it was okay but I don't think it will be a repeat for me.

Sapa House has been a fixture of the Downtown Dallas restaurant scene for decades! It's an easy to like Asian-Fusion establishment that serves a variety of cuisines. Vietnamese, Japanese, and Thai dishes can be all found on their menu, as can local fusion specialties! There's also a large and popular bar with a view of Ervay Street. I often get Pho, and I have to say their Beef Pho is really great. It has meatballs, filet, and brisket (this is Texas y'all). It's super tender and has a rich broth. They have a variety of sushi rolls, including most of those that are popular, and some surprising local variations (Latino Roll anyone?). They have some great noodle dishes, including Pad Thai. There's even a Bento Box option. Quite the variety! The establishment is located on the ground floor with a view of Downtown. It has an outdoor seating area for fair weather dining, and the interior has tables, bar areas, and booths. The service is efficient and polite which is always nice. Come discover this venerable establishment and get some good food and enjoy the nice atmosphere.

We showed up around 2pm on a Thursday so it wasn't busy at all. We ordered the pad Thai. It was a good bowl of noodles but not authentic pad Thai. Thai Tea was good too. The server was polite and friendly. It'd be a good place for a casual lunch or dinner with friends.

YAY! Another place that serves Vietnamese foods!! The beef in the pho was actually really good. The meatball was kinda of stale and old. Thought it was a pretty good pho bowl. The appetizer we got, it was decent! Didn't feel entirely fresh but it didn't taste bad. The ponzu sauce is always so good. The service was very attentive and friendly. Would definitely come back. It was not too busy on Sunday, only a couple of people watching cowboys!

2nd try. Food is mehhh. The pho didn't have much flavor and the meat in it was super tough. My drink was good and strong. I had the patron margarita. The service hahahahahah what service?? They took my order and didn't come back until handing me my check. Ambiance was dirty the bathroom filthy and the sauce bottles at the tables were super sticky.

Went for dinner with my brother and happened to catch their happy hour, so definitely made the visit even better. We got some steamed and fried dumplings as an appetizer and they tasted great and came with a sauce that had a nice little kick to it. For my entrée. I had the Thai Basil flat noodles while my brother had a traditional Pad Thai. Both were with chicken. The flat noodle dish was flavorful and filling. I got spice level medium since I hadn't been to this place before and definitely could use a bit more of a kick so I'd go higher next time. My brother's Pad Thai was also tasty, at least with the little bit he actually let me try, haha. I also had one of their happy hour drink specials (screwdriver) which was solid too. It should also be noted they were crazy fast. I think from time of ordering till food arrived was barely 15 minutes, if that.

This wasn't my first choice, but it was an unexpectedly delightful detour. The ambience is not too fancy, but the food is top tier. Our food was served quickly, and everything was delicious. I have never had dry ramen until today, and although it was my first time eating it, it won't be the last. I appreciate how simple this place is, but the food is elevated. Don't sleep on Sapa House, it's a culinary delight.

    Pad Thai

This place is popular. I tried the shrimp pad Thai and is really not authentic in terms of flavor and ingredients. One of the worst I've had. Will not order it again.

The Peking duck with accoutrements wasn't any better. The veggies were limp as if they had been sitting out all morning uncovered. The pancakes were very dry and lukewarm. But they got progressively colder. Last third of the basket was ice cold. The duck, was not hot. It also wasn't freshly made. It had been sitting out. It didn't have the crispy snap skin should have. It was super greasy. And because it was cool that grease was just sitting on the skin like a second coating. I paid but ate nothing. I won't be back and don't recommend.

My friend and I were craving Peking duck, so we decided to try it out. The reviews were promising,…read moreand I had heard that they carve the duck tableside. We arrived on a Wednesday evening around 7 p.m., and surprisingly, we were the only customers there, considering it was peak dinner time. We also discovered that we needed to pre-order the duck in advance. Luckily, the lady informed us that there was one available for us, but it would take about 30 minutes. We ordered the crispy cucumber salad, xiao long bao, and the dry-fried string beans. The dry-fried string beans were my favorite. The string beans had a delightful crisp texture and a flavorful taste. The cucumber salad was also good, but some parts were a bit soggy. The XLB skin was too thick and chewy, and it didn't taste like the usual soup dumplings, which was disappointing. I was excited for the duck, but I was honestly disappointed when it arrived. The portions were quite small, considering it was a whole duck. It wasn't carved tableside, which was a letdown. Some parts of the duck were dry, and the skin wasn't crispy enough. To add to the disappointment, they charge extra for almost everything. If you want more pancakes or their homemade duck sauce (which tasted like black bean sauce), you'll have to pay an additional $5. Another thing to note is that they are BYOB, so you can bring your own alcohol. However, the menu pictures on Yelp are outdated, and they only offer whole Peking duck, not half orders. Overall, the food was just okay, and I'll probably try a different spot when I'm in the mood for duck again.

I ordered the Pork Ba, Pickled Smashed Cucumbers, Pan-Fried Chicken & Mushroom Dumplings, Pork Bao Zi, and Peach Dessert Dumplings. The Pickled Smashed Cucumbers with the sweet and spicy chili dressing were a nice start, but the Pan-Fried Chicken & Mushroom Dumplings were fairly unremarkable. They weren't bad, but they reminded me of gyoza I've had at many other restaurants and didn't particularly stand out. The Pork Bao Zi had one of the better fillings of the meal. The pork itself was flavorful and delicious, but the bao bun was very plain and lacked enough flavor to complement the filling. I was especially interested in trying the Peach Dessert Dumplings because they sounded so unique. They were definitely an interesting treat, but ultimately fell a little short for me. The peach filling tasted more like preserves or jam than a fresh fruit-based filling, which made them sweeter and less balanced than I expected. The restaurant itself has a modern, clean, open interior and a casual atmosphere. One thing worth mentioning is that it was fairly warm inside, probably around 78°F. It wasn't unbearable for me, but with North Texas temperatures easily reaching 100°F+, some diners may find the dining room warmer than comfortable. Parking is also somewhat limited, so keep that in mind during busier times. Overall, I'm glad I tried Hello Dumpling, especially after seeing it on *Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives*. There were some enjoyable flavors and creative ideas, but based on this visit, the food didn't quite live up to the expectations I had from the TV feature. I'd give it a solid 3 stars and will go back to try some fresh noodle entrees.
