Came on a Friday 1 hour before lunch service was over. I was seated quickly at a table by a window. The table top was clear but the floor under the table wasn't swept. But I stayed then later noticed there was food spatter all over the window. There were also lots of cleaning products and boxes piled up in plain site. Hallway to bathroom full of products. In the bathroom products by the bar boxes and products. Huge piles of just junk. The food. I ordered the Peking duck. It came with a duck soup. The soup wasn't hot, not even warm. The Peking duck with accoutrements wasn't any better. The veggies were limp as if they had been sitting out all morning uncovered. The pancakes were very dry and lukewarm. But they got progressively colder. Last third of the basket was ice cold. The duck, was not hot. It also wasn't freshly made. It had been sitting out. It didn't have the crispy snap skin should have. The best spot for pecking duck, in my humble opinion. Great taste and quality Chinese food. Always come here for pecking duck and it never disappoints! The interior is huge, with an area with tons of windows and natural light. Even with a long wait list, we only had to wait for about 20 minutes to be seated. They do take reservations I think. Servers are efficient. Peking duck had wonderfully crispy skin, so greasy and oily and wonderful. The duck itself was still moist and delicious. The soup was not standard Peking duck soup; it was a super light broth really, almost no salt in it, but a nice balance. Come for the Peking duck! I've been craving it for a while now and there isn't really a place for it where I'm from. The duck skin is the perfect balance of fat and crispy. The meat is super tender and juicy. We also ordered the truffle fried rice, string beans, xiao long bao and chicken feet. Everything tasted good and we enjoyed it. This was the second visit to Tian Tian. I came because it's one of the few places that serve Peking duck. In addition to that they have other solid options and even have dim sum dishes! Located within a small plaza, so shouldn't be too hard to find parking. It was the late morning of the fourth of July, so it was a bit busy. It actually got way more crowded after we had been seated and settled in. I really liked the design on the inside of the restaurant. It gave off a kind of elegant and classy vibe to the chaotic-ness of a dim sum restaurant. There was three of us eating together and we enjoyed all the food we ordered. This place happened to be open on Christmas Day, so my family made a reservation for 7 people at 6pm. It was good thinking to make a reservation because the place was jam-packed, and every table was full with a line of people waiting to be seated. We were seated in about 15 minutes despite the reservation, and even with the staff being so busy, they still did a great job handling our order and requests. We tried many kinds of dishes from chicken, the Beijing duck (a favorite), soup dumplings, buns, and various veggie dishes (pea shoots $16, Kung pao tofu ~$14, and green beans $12). People really enjoyed the duck and the green veggies, but the soup dumplings were not as soupy as we would have liked. The veggies were actually quite delicious and not too salty which was perfect for our tastes. We also got coconut jelly for dessert ($8 each) which came as literal large coconuts, but instead of filled with coconut juice, they contained a jelly filling consisting of agar-agar. I was not a fan of the texture but other family members enjoyed it. Peking Duck (5/5): It's pure bliss when you wrap the crispy skin and rich, juicy duck in the paper thin wrap. Half an order is perfect for two people. Salt & Pepper Shrimp (4.5/5) It's not just salt and pepper, there are peppercorns used as well as some Sichuan peppers, I think. There's not much heat to it so you don't have to worry. You come to Tian Tian for the Peking Duck. They use the thin wraps rather than the thick buns. The presentation is really nice. They de-bone the duck for you and leave you with the skin and a thin slice of duck meat. Our duck did not seem to have much meat on it, not sure if our duck was just skinny. But we overall enjoyed the Peking Duck and would order it again. The other items we ordered were a hit or miss. The scallion pancakes were not enjoyable, I would definitely pass on those. The xiao long bao (soup dumplings) were decent, I'd probably get them again if I came back. We did like the pan fried dumplings. The mapo tofu was underwhelming and the pan fried buns were ok. We had ordered a lot of stuff so we could try everything and see if it was worth coming back. We did not receive one of our orders which ended up working out for us because we were full. We were so excited to give Tian Tian a try after seeing a few posts on IG! The service was okay. You'll need to flag your server down if you need additional water or need the check. However, everyone was super friendly! The restaurant itself was large, bright, and airy. There was plenty of seating and food for large groups and gatherings. We did find it odd that it smelled like natural gas though (?!). I tried calling to make a reservation, but their phone # goes straight to voicemail and their voicemail box was full! The four of us arrived at 5 P to try to beat the crowd (it worked!). By 6 PM, the place was filling up and people had to wait for a table. Plenty of free parking in the private lot right in front of the restaurant. The menu was very vast and they seemed to have a bit of everything from different regions of China. They also served Dim Sum, but we did not order any! We ordered the following: 1) Ma po tofu: not spicy, but had decent flavor 2) Peking duck: delicious, but we were disappointed in how little toppings they provided! Also, the pancakes were stuck together so many of them were ripped up when we tried to eat it! But we've seen consistent decline in their service level, and in our last visit we literally walked out and probably will never come back. They were not only terribly understaffed, but their staff was outright rude. The person in the front literally left groups of people waiting without ever acknowledging their presence. We saw one man raising his hand to get his attendance and he literally just walked past him. But what drove us out was the bathroom. The floor was dirty and slippery/greasy. So slippery that when I tried to pulled the door, I actually slipped forward rather than the door opening. It was gross, and unsafe. We walked out. Without even getting our table. The Peking Duck was to die for. Absolutely divine. It came with super thin tortillas, vegetables and sauces to make your own mini taco. The duck itself was delicious. The skin was crispy and crunchy, a little oily but not greasy. The meat was moist and flavorful. And with all the elements together, it was like a party in your mouth with the flavors dancing across your tongue. Everything else on the menu was great too! Was denied entry 2 hrs before the advertised close time. Could not order and the person at the front said kitchen closed and we are not open and to leave. Ridiculous and they should change the hours if this is true. They will also leave the phone off the hook on purpose and have closed their web ordering services so then people are not able to order and they can close earlier. Awesome Peking duck without a long wait time like traditional Peking duck restaurants. The entrees are also delicious. I loved the sauteed squid with onions and peppers, and the sauteed green beans. The truffle fried rice was interesting. I wouldn't order the fried rice again, but I'm glad to have tried it once. I like how the egg pieces in the rice are actually crispy instead of fried rice at other restaurants. The duck soup is a trap. Do not order it. Since Tian Tian opened last year, I've been with various friends and family several times, and it's been a great experience every time! Sometimes service can be slow, but most of the dishes here are hits and of course I can't write a review without mentioning the Peking duck. Super crispy skin and fatty duck + the thinnest wonton skin wrappers, what's not to like? It also comes with some excellent and fragrant duck soup -- if you're a cilantro hater like myself, you can ask them to not put cilantro in it! Our other favorite dishes to order here have been the regular dishes that come with white rice. The baos are alright (xiao long bao not soupy enough and shengjianbao doesn't have quite the right meat/dough ratio or crispyness underneath), but you can't go wrong with the sautéed green beans, the garlic pork ribs, the black pepper sizzling beef, and the royal chicken. Last fall we came for my fiance's father's birthday and they had the robot waiter come over to our table and sing happy birthday to him, which I thought was a nice touch. No doubt they are known for their Peking duck here. While I can't deny that theirs is tasty, I can't help but feel like it's overpriced. The duck is carved before it's brought out to your table. It's just skin and meat; no bones. I've read that some people request the bones to bring home but I would rather eat it there. It's served with thin pancakes, cucumbers, green onions, hoisin and duck sauces. Also, they serve you a duck soup/broth beforehand which I found to be unbelievably bland. In fact, we told them to skip it on our last visit. Overall, it's good for the experience but definitely not something I have to have here. Now, the other dishes are worth coming back for. The ho fen is delicious and has a nice smoky wok flavor. The mapo tofu was flavorful and yummy with rice. The happy family is served at the table with them bringing out the hot plate and then pouring the dish into it in front of you. Nice presentation and I love the sizzling hot food. I wanted to try everything on the menu. There were so many enticing options and you have to control yourself. Obviously, you will see a pecking duck at every table. Unless a lot of places I've been at, the duck was thinly cut and prepared. Most places take the roast duck and cut it in pieces so they're thicker. But the duck was crispy and tasted so well. You do wrap it in this wrap which was different. I think having it in a bao would have tasted better and keep people full (it can be pricey). The pork belly char siu was different but still tasted really good. It's not the traditional char siu you see at Hong Kong bbqs but it was yummy (could probably skip on). The honey walnut shrimp was fantastic. The portions were smaller than I expected but it was cooked really well and the flavors came alive. From the meat that we consumed, we had to order a plate of veggies and the beans did not disappoint. Another dish with great flavor. My friend and I decided to come here because we had heard that they have good Peking duck, but we were pleasantly surprised by the other food too! We came on a weeknight evening and most of the restaurant was empty. We were seated immediately and decided to order the peking duck, which comes with the typical setup (with sliced duck, scallions, sauce, and tortillas) plus soup. We also ordered the cucumber appetizer. They had a little robot deliver our food, which was a lot of fun! The cucumbers were shockingly good. I'm not sure what they put in them, but they had an amazing umami flavor that kept us wanting more. Next, they brought the soup they made using duck bones. It was also really good. I'm a sucker for soup, and we demolished it. Finally, they brought the peking duck in a beautiful tray. It was delicious as well. The duck skin was thinly sliced and perfectly crispy. M told me he has never had good duck before, so I thought we should fix that. I thought a decent Peking Duck experience might help and read that Tian Tian is the closest thing we have in DFW for an authentic experience. So we went! Since it was just the two of us and I wasn't sure if M would like the duck, we went with the half duck, and we also ordered the garlic pork ribs, because I was just talking about how the pork ribs at the American Chinese restaurants are always saucy but I missed the dry fried ones and Tian Tian had them on the menu. We arrived a little after they had opened, around 11:30, and we were seated right away. I totally misheard the server when he was asking what we wanted to drink and proceeded to order the food, but he was very nice about it. Because of this confusion, our order did get put in very quickly. The soup from the duck came out super fast, and we enjoyed the hot soup that was rich with the duck fat. Then I thought the ribs would come out before the duck, but a fried rice dish showed up. I told the server that we ordered pork ribs and she took the fried rice right back. Then the duck came. I showed M how to make little wraps using the crepe and he seemed to enjoy it. The skin could have been a little crispier, but I wasn't mad at what was served. It was nice to have the crepes, especially after reading that many places in the area provide bao or moo shu pancakes instead. Then finally the pork ribs came. I was really hoping that the fried rice thing wouldn't be a problem, and our server apologized for the confusion when delivering the ribs. They were steaming hot and delicious. They definitely satisfied my craving for this kind of pork ribs. I was very full by the end of the meal and glad we didn't order another dish (I was tempted to also order the salt and pepper shrimp), but would love to return with more friends and try some more items. I asked if it was possible to have duck bones to take home even with the half duck order, and I was given the bones from a whole duck. I've desperately been missing Peking Duck since I've moved to the area and I thought I'd give this place a try. We tried the Peking duck, pan fried pork dumplings, the sizzling happy family and the snow pea leaves with garlic. Peking duck was a little dry and I didn't like how the fat wasn't separated from the skin. It was just rendered with it, making it a fatty thick piece of crispy duck fat which gets to be a little much after a while. Pan fried pork dumplings were pretty good but just wish it had a little more filling. Sorry, it arrived last and I forgot to take a picture of it. Food - I came here for the Peking Duck, and it delivers. The duck is moist, the skin is crispy, and it's served on a special platter that contains the pancake/crepe, greens, and sauce. I'm a huge fan of the crepes. I like them much more then the white buns because you can taste more of the duck. We dined on a Tuesday night and half the restaurant was full. It didn't take long for the food to arrive especially the Peking Duck. Unfortunately, the portion was small and the duck was tiny. Sunday night went for dinner with a friend and the scallops were ok but chicken dish was delish until we heard the booth next to us screaming and jumping up and a little mouse ran past us. All over US and globally I have never encounter a mouse inside a restaurant. We told our waitress who say Oh...so it's gone now was her response. Some of the dishes I've enjoyed: Roasted Peking Duck, Black Pepper BBQ pork, cantonese style sweet and sour pork. The most horrible Chinese food experience I've ever had. To be fair, we came quite early close to their grand opening ... but it was insane how mismanaged they were. First of all - the waitress did not know anything about the menu. The first red flag was when I asked her about Mapo Tofu - if they can add pork to it or not - she came back from the kitchen staff and said "sorry we can't put pork on Mapo Tofu but we can do chicken if you want". WHO COOKS MAPO TOFU WITH CHICKEN?? How gross is that?? Makes me think whoever is cooking in the kitchen isn't an authentic Chinese cook. And most menu questions I ask her she just says "I'm not sure - I don't know what's in this dish". But that's not it - we also ordered the truffle XLB and pecking Duck (which was why we came in the first place). The pecking Duck was delicious. However, they served us the regular pork XLB instead of the truffle one. I ask the waitress to check and she left with our food and never came back. We had to ask another lady staff (who was much more professional and nice). The grossest thing was the sweet and sour fish. It was already strange enough that they didn't mix the sauce in with the fried battered fish. But the sad news was the sauce tasted like ... nothing? it was just sweet ... almost felt like I was tasting a flavorless gelatin mix. The pineapple served on top of the fried fish tasted like someone had just dropped the canned pineapple down the sink and they soaked for a bit and picked it up ... and without cooking or grilling it, just threw it in with the fried fish for decoration. I wanted to throw up when I tasted it - I have never had such a strong aversion to a dish that I am familiar with... how can you mess up sweet and sour fish? I hope they hire more professional staffs who at least understands the menu or knows how to cook Chinese food. But who knows maybe I just happened to visit on an off-day and everything just went wrong. I didn't give this place 1 star because they also have some great staff! The owner seemed nice. We just happened to be in contact with the not so great staff. I do have to say their pecking Duck is pretty good... so maybe give this place a try if you dare! Hopefully your experience will be better than mine. But for me, not coming back. read more

We really wanted to love everything but most dishes were pretty greasy. We prefer the flat tortilla type wrappers over the bun style for Peking duck and we were pretty impressed with it. We were hoping the robot would deliver a dish or two but no luck for us. We did see it delivering some dishes to other tables though. It was pretty busy so perhaps the robot doesn't deliver to larger tables. Steamed dumplings and the pan fried ones were delicious and hot when they got to the table. The beef flat noodles and the scallop fried rice were really greasy. The fried rice didn't have much scallop in it. read more
