Ok this pleasant surprise of an AAPI owned restaurant is new around the block and may I say I am quite impressed. This cute spot is located downtown near many different food locations. The service here was so kind and they were very helpful in helping me to make adult decisions . The coffee and drinks are yum so I came here two days in a row! The chacuterie was good but needed more pâté. Easy fix. I'm also not a big cucumber fan so more greens and jalapeños will be requested in place next time. Regardless the food and drink didn't disappoint. If you're looking for an AAPI owned eatery, this is the place !

Gift and her husband operate a lovely space for food, conversation, and discussion. The food is quite delicious and unique among local Thai eateries. The service was excellent from offering suggestions or details about their offerings to checking on my needs throughout my time there. The owners made me feel most welcome and encouraged my return. The only downside I see for this place is that it only has street parking. I encourage anyone who likes Thai food to come, eat, and be treated well. Oh yes. HAPPY HOUR - Thursday and Friday from 3-6pm. I am very happy that I found this place and, if you come, you may feel the same way. Give it a try.

Pronounced: Safah Cafay. Parking: 2 hours street parking (need to move xar), else paid parking garage 2 blocks away from the cafe. Restroom: 1, clean decent Ambiance: old Thai kopitiam spot with nostalgic ornaments This place is popular amongst office workers. Opening hours is limited: mostly up from 8am- 2:30pm, only Thurs and Fri: opened again from 3pm-6pm. Sat-Sun only opened: 10am-2pm. Recommended: Kai Gata: all day classic Thai street breakfast Hainan Hustle: classic Hainanese chicken rice Drinks: Pandan cold brew Latte (not on menu-asked) Herbal lemongrass It seems they mainly stock their more popular items, so some of the less popular options aren't consistently available. It has DJ for certain occassions, due to limited space, they set it up outdoor, by the patio. Service: friendly, decent speed I recommend this place for folks looking for nostalgic old town comfort foods. EDIT: Their IG informed to pronounce it as "safah cafay", but the owner informed that my review is incorrectly pronounce it as "safah cafay" (?)

Located in downtown and close to the office, we decided to check it out. We got there around 12:30 and they were already out of some stuff. You start by ordering at the counter and then find a seat. We tried to order the kai gata but they ran out of the roll and offered regular toast. Since I was not a fan of eating it with regular toast, I asked if they had rice, they said no, but offered porridge. This porridge was not like any porridge that I have had and I've been to Thailand and had porridge. The consistency was more like oatmeal. Not a fan. We got the Pork Pops and Hainan Hustle which were both very good. For drinks, I got the Nam Krajeab (Roselle Juice), which was very refreshing. I like the fact that it was not too sweet. Ordering was simple but the delivery was a little chaotic. Some folks received a number and some didn't; we didn't. There were 2-3 servers that continued to walk around with food not knowing who or where to deliver it to. At one point, they tried to deliver the same dish to us twice. I felt bad for the servers, they were doing their best with what little info they had to go one. They have one big table for a group but the rest of the tables is mainly for a single, double or up to 4 diners. Street parking only. Love their support against ICE, will continue to support this business for that reason, alone!

There is indoor and outdoor dining available. Cute interior and cute waitress/ busser, who I assume is the young daughter of owner. You order at the counter and your food is brought out to you. I went with the sukhumvit sunrise wrap. The sai oua (sausage) within was flavorful and the roti was flaky. I'm happy with what I ordered. I'll have to come back to try the bak kut teh (pork rib soup). I've had it once in Singapore and this is my first time finding a place that serves it.

I personally give it a 5/5 but my partner didn't like it so much so whatever ~ I have been wanting to try this spot out for a while so excited when we have a free day to come check it out. Parking is not too bad, there's a decent amount of street parking . We were lucky to find a spot almost instantly. The vibe is quite cute inside and you order and pay at the counter before sitting down. I definitely had to get the pandan latte. It wasn't super sweet so I did like it but I've been into like cold foam lately so idk maybe a bit of that would have been better but that's fine. I got myself a sunrise wrap because the reviews were hyping it up and I was not disappointed. It is literally so good. I love the roti wrap it's so flaky and add a great texture. The side salad was a good touch because the acidity make the dish more interesting. I enjoy the little sauce that came with it and pour it all over the wrap. It's somehow so simple yet so comforting. Highly recommend. Of course I got a kaya toast because how else would you end a meal. It was the perfect choice. Not too sweet but just the right chef kiss amount. Ugh I'm upset my partner took half. He did not really like his kai gata unfortunately. So this so similar to a Viet breakfast dish but the difference is the meat. And it was a bit light on seasoning for us but they did bring out some chili oil. This one also took a bit more time to come out. Just a heads up. Overall the service was fine, food will take time depend on what you get, but I like the menu a lot of some stuff are definitely worth getting. The price is also quite fair as well so you can get a bunch of different things!

We came for brunch on a Saturday after going to the farmers' market since we were looking for a dog-friendly place. Cute interior and exterior. We got the indochine deli board, the Kai gata, dipper's delight and the coffee. Our favorite was the pate and pork on the indochine deli board -it was like a deconstructed banh mi. The fancy pork and roast pork were delicious with the pate. The cucumbers and picked carrot/daikon were refreshing to lighten the savory pork flavor. Everything else was solid-we'd consider stopping by again next time we're in the area.

Consistently great experience each visit. Their drinks, food, ambiance, and staff, all of it, amazing. It's a cute quiet place to work in the mornings. I need to go during one of their evening events to check it out later in the day. But I've had their cloud matcha (refreshing) and pork pops with sticky rice (sooo mouth watering-must eat with hands ). Just recently, I ordered their kai gata - meats and egg dish. All the meat juices and eggs simmered together -mouth watering. I love the touch of white pepper on it!! The baguette I got with it was crazy good too with a crunchy exterior and super soft inside!! *Eyes rolling back* And, every time I visit, I must get the kaya butter toast because Pandan. Duh! I'll need to find friends to bring for their large shared plates. Or just come really hungry one day I want to learn majong too, so I might check out their majong night sometime. It's a cute local spot serving allll the goods - drinks, food, and vibes. Definitely worth checking out. Thank you, always!

I think Sapha Kafae appeared in my Yelp feed because I had searched for Kaya Toast while I was in Hong Kong and Malaysia recently. That's the magic of Yelp algorithm, I'm guessing! Sapha Kafae is a family-owned cafe and brunch spot near the State Capitol on the corner of O and 14th Street. It has a big eye-catching wall mural on the exterior and you can't miss it. Street parking nearby and don't forget to feed those meters. The interior has a laid-back vibe with a bar tugged in the corner. We wanted to try everything on the menu because the ingredients sounds amazing! For this visit, I had Kai Gata, popular Thai street breakfast with eggs, savory meats cooked in a personal skillet serve with warm baguette. There is something about eating from a personal skillet that just elevate the experience. It was savory and filling! I enjoyed it thoroughly. We shared the Kaya Toast (A Must!). This is another popular breakfast or after school snack from Singapore and Malaysia. It's equivalent to a Peanut Butter Toast in US. Nostalgic for me. Nicely toasted with a good amount of Kaya and warm! We also shared the Pork Pops (Moo Ping), grilled pork skewers that's nicely marinated and comes with addicting dipping sauce serve with sticky rice. My son loved it and I thought it was okay for me. My son had the Hainan Hustle (Khao Mun Gai) with tendered poached skinless chicken, infused rice, comforting broth and savory ginger sauce. He finished the entire dish wiped cleaned! He loved it. I tried a piece of the chicken and it was flavorful. As for specialty drinks. I like the Black Thai with expresso, Thai tea and condensed milk. A balance of strong coffee that's mildly sweeten. We expected the Pandan Cold Brew to be greenish but it was made as a Cold Brew with Pandan flavoring? because it was like sweeten black coffee. We asked the owner and he happily added milk foam on top. That was very kind of him. Tim, the owner checked on us and told us about the place that he owed with his wife, Gift. I was happy to find out that they have Mahjong Night on the last Thursday of the month. I plan to be there if I can make it and try other dishes. I'm happy to see more fusion menu items with laid back vibe spot like this in Sacramento. Go out and support our local small business!

It was morning and needed a coffee and found this place nearby so I went in. It has a cool vibe with a southeast Asian menu, Thailand, Malaysia, etc.. The coffee was good and they had a small selection of breakfast items that were pretty good. It looks like they have a separate bar area and a street food style small bite menu for lunch and evenings. I think this place would be a good place to come back to.

4.5! Stopped by this spot for a bite and tried their Kai Gata which is one of their classic Thai street breakfast options! This dish came in a hot skillet with different savory meats that went well with their fresh, warm baguette. I ordered their pandan cold brew but they were out that day so they turned it into a latte instead. The flavor is nice but I think as a cold brew it would have been extra refreshing. Their cute setting is great for enjoying the food and their other menu options def make me wanna go back to try more! Service was very nice and quick.

They put dry ice inside and then pour water into it, making it look like the elephant is blowing smoke out of its trunk. My daughter was completely mesmerized. Watching her reaction was worth the visit all by itself. What I loved most was that it wasn't just a gimmick. The drink was actually good, and the elephant made such a cute keepsake afterward. It was very busy since the rooftop was host to a plethora of different events. Overall, a beautiful place home to various communities where you can connect. So beautiful!

My drink wasnt too sweet which I prefer. The hojicha latte was great as well! You don't see this often if at all so it was a pleasant surprise. The service was friendly and they were patient when I had questions on the standard vs the "twice" drinks. They have a shared parking lot which helps as they are off a busy stretch of road. The cons: They do not have size options for their beverages. Which for the most part isn't an issue except when I wanted a large drink. Which is why I bought 2. They partnered with Pastry Cat and unfortunately the common theme was they never had pastries even in 9am window. Not their fault but maybe partnering with a patisserie that offers consistent inventory might be worthwhile? The ambience is less "come and enjoy your drink" and more "we don't have enough seating"and use the space efficiently. I think if they update the layout of the tables and chairs, it would feel more inviting to sit for a bit or meet up with friends. The parking lot. It's terrible, crowded and people don't know how to park. I saw a couple of cars almost back into eachother while waiting and I was grateful I parked on the street and walked. Overall, the quality of the drinks and the friendliness are great and that receives 4 stars. If you want a quality matcha drink then give them a try. But I have access to other cafes that meet my needs; enough that Offbeat will be more of an off the beaten path option than a regular one.

From the moment we walked in, I noticed all the little details that made the space feel so inviting, like lots of plants, good music, and a cozy atmosphere that made me want to stay awhile (which, we did). It's the kind of place where you can meet up with a friend, get some work done, or simply enjoy a slow morning. The coffee was excellent, and I have to mention the chocolate croissant because it was easily one of the most chocolate-filled croissants I've had in a long time. So good! Another thing I appreciated was how spacious it was. There were plenty of tables and room to spread out, which was perfect since I came with my kiddo. She loved the open space and even turned it into her own little dance floor while I enjoyed my coffee for a bit. Overall, this is a wonderful local spot with a welcoming atmosphere, delicious coffee, and plenty of space to relax or work. I will definitely be back!

Honestly my first thoughts were, "why is there a car in here?" but Im sure car enthusiasts would fancy seeing a luxurious prestige vehicle in a cafe and everyone else would find it interesting as it is unusual for a cafe to just have a car right in the middle of its establishment. Their menu isnt overwhelming and only has a few selections, theres good pastries to try out as well. Coffee was alright and the pastries were ok, overall I guess I was just more distracted by the business's set pieces. In any case, check the place out, parking can be a pain if it gets busy, typical downtown sac. Issues.

We've been to the original location in Elk Grove several times, and the one off Arden several times as well. And now the newest location located right behind the ice blooks. Space wise this is definitely their largest location to date, and includes a bar where you can actually get alcoholic drinks if that suits you. Because it was late morning and we'd just come from Jiu Jitsu class. We stopped in to grab ourselves some breakfast burritos for us and our boys. Decor was really nice and carried on the notable mural theme from the other 2 locations. Just slightly different like the other two, to make ir unique to this location. Breakfast burrito, bacon (2x) Breakfast burritos, sausage Overall: The burritos were bomb, and we'll definitely have to stop back in when in the area. For sure for breakfast again, but we all want to dine in for lunch and or for dinner.

The coffee wasn't quite sweet enough for my liking, but that's an easy fix. The cookie was sooo tasty! Then, I went into this location on a whim one Saturday and ordered a coffee and 3 cookies -- 1 Pandan, 1 Ube, and 1 Almond. Pros: the cookies were tasty, and I loved the almond best as it reminded me of an almond croissant with the frangipane in the middle. So good! The spot was easy to find, and parking was super easy given it was a weekend. Lastly, it was very clean inside and there were quite a few people enjoying their various pastries and drinks, giving a nice chill vibe. Cons: the service was awful and the staff person who helped me probably shouldn't have been working the register that day. When I walked in with my young nephew, I smiled and said hello. She looked directly at me, and walked off and started talking with another employee. Then she came back about a minute later and says "do you see what you want?" I immediately said "Hello! How are you?" I mean, she didn't greet me when I came in, then come over to ask if I know what I want. Say what you will, but her customer service sucked and she acted as if she didn't want to be there. I gave her my coffee and cookie order, paid and another employee came over greeted me and said "I'll get them!" She had a short but pleasant conversation with me, handed me my things, and I was on my way. I thanked her for her help on the way out, but that initial interaction was enough to say I probably won't go back there again for quite a while. I get having an off day, but I truly don't like rude people, regardless of which side of the counter they're on.

I was a bit sad because their drink selection is a bit small. However, they were very helpful in helping me pick out a drink and explaining what some of their other drinks were. The employee was talking on their phone a bit throughout the time I was there, but I didn't mind since I was still deciding on a drink and not ready to order. I got the mocha drink and the Finjan coffee. I enjoyed both but I think I liked the mocha drink more. They had a wide variety of dessert that looked amazing. I want to come back and try them one day! They were absolutely mouth-watering, but too early in the day for me to have sweets. Their coffee house is quite large, with a lot of seating. It seems like a nice place to study! I loved that they had murals outside and that the nearby outside seating was also lovely. There is a wonderful aesthetic inside the shop and in the plaza it is located in.
