Pad Thai and Thai Ice Tea
    Summer P.

This place never truly disappoints. There is always a crowd but the service is fast and the staff are always helpful and accommodating. My coworker and I got the pad thai, and my other coworkers got the pad see ew and drunken noodle. The food is always super fresh and delicious. Be aware that even the medium is really spicy so know that at your own risk. The Thai teas are always so exceptional and perfect the help calm down the heat. The service is amazing but sometimes it gets confusing if you should seat yourself or if you should go up to the counter and order. Regardless you will be very satisfied!

Family always likes coming here for the avocado green curry ! It is so good and they give you practically a whole avocado per dish . The portions are big and you can't go wrong with anything you order .. service is also very good and accommodating. I love that there's outdoor seating we like to sit outside on nice days .

This restaurant is one of my favorites for Thai food. The food is phenomenal here, its's filling, generous portions, and well priced. When I came here with my family we ordered three dishes and had no problem sharing and we loved everything we got. When my friends and I come here we never have a problem finding things to share either because so many options are vegetarian friendly! The restaurant is clean, the food comes out quickly, and the staff are very nice. There's seating inside and some outside. My favorite items are the yellow curry, pad see ew, thai fried rice, and the mixed veggie plates (specifically the garlic pepper and basil plate). I just had their mango sticky rice and it is a must order, the rice is perfectly sweet (not overly), the coconut ice cream is delightful, and the mango was perfectly ripe. I actually had the mango sticky rice at their Fulton location, they have the same exact menu there. They also serve a really sweet but tasty plum wine here. Definitely recommend this place!

I love Thai!! The more spicy, the better. And restaurant delivered. I loved it. They have Thai hot and it's my jam. Service was attentive and ambiance was okay. You coming for the food and not the lux.

We came here for dinner before a show on a weeknight and were seated right away. The location is great and the spot is pretty big. The menu has a lot of vegan-possible options, which makes it a good spot for eating with a group of people with different food needs. I kept it simple and ordered the pad Thai in the vegan version. The servings were huge; my friend and I could really only finish half our meals, and unfortunately, as we were without car and going to a show, couldn't take the rest to go -- but it's worth noting that you could get two meals out of the serving here. As for the food itself, it was good, but not amazing? The main issue was my pad Thai was really sweet, like it tasted sugar-y almost. I was hoping for something a bit more savory, so I enjoyed it, but maybe would try something different if I came back. I also would have loved a bit more tofu in it, as it was pretty noodle heavy.

Coconut on T is my new favorite Thai restaurant in Sac! I've been meaning to try their food ever since one of my friends recommended them to me a few months ago. It's also her favorite Thai place and now I know why. We went for dinner on a Monday night and it was popping. The restaurant is simple inside, but cute with a lovely ambiance. There's artwork for sale on the walls as well. Staff are friendly and from observing them, I can tell they have an efficient system going on. The prices are very reasonable even for the downtown area, and I was truly not expecting the portion sizes to be so big. I saw a sign where it says to ask about the $2 beers, so of course I had to. I'm not sure if it's rotating, but for that evening we got 805. Classic. My husband and I shared a chicken tom yum soup, and I went with a chicken & mango red curry, while my husband went with a chicken basil fried rice. They absolutely do not skimp on ingredients here. Our tom yum was packed with meat and mushrooms, and the flavor was deliciously tangy and savory. My red curry was loaded with a variety of veggies and mango slices, and of course thinly-sliced chicken. I love when curry is packed with goodies and this hit the spot. I did not ask for any spice level, so it came in standard medium spicy and had a nice kick to it. The mango slices were super fresh and my favorite veggie would be bamboo shoots. I've always loved bamboo shoots and there was plenty in this dish. I had a small bite of the basil fried rice and it was bursting with flavor. I'd have to say that it's probably one of the best basil fried rice I've ever had! I'm already planning for my next visit to The Coconut on T and am also researching the other locations Coconut has. My friend did say this was her favorite location though, so I'm glad my first experience was at the T St. location!

I got the pineapple fried rice with chicken. The meal came out really fast and it was delicious! It was a big portion as well so I was able to bring half of it back with me and it tasted just a great the next day.

I've been on the HUNT for great Thai food...found the Coconut on T and was instantly hooked. Sat down and got my order taken immediately, constant water refills, refreshing Thai tea, and bomb entrees. Ordered the basil with chicken, loved the various veggies and sauce it came with. Also got the chicken pad Thai (medium spice) with the green curry (medium spice). Get the GREEN CURRY, it comes with bite sized eggplant which was a perfect amount for every bite. Ended our meal with mango sticky rice & coconut ice cream. This place was the highlight of my day. The waitresses were so kind and attentive and the place was so calm and cozy to eat at. Go try it!!

We are on vacation in Sacramento visiting our close friends and for dinner tonight, we landed on a Thai spot that our friends recommended. The Coconut On T, did not disappoint. After sharing a few drinks and dinner, they were so right about the quality, portion size, vibe, pricing and flavor of the food. The business has outdoor/street seating or two indoor seating room options for dining, they are small spaces with various party size seating as well. Throughout the interior walls you will notice a variety of wall art for your exploration and enjoyment. The interior spaces are a bit compact so plan ahead for larger groups. The menu has many Thai food favorites, each of us ordered a different dish, The Yellow Curry, Eggplant Entree, The Cashew Nut Chicken and the Drunken Noodle with Chicken with the "American Medium" spice level, if you do not like it spicy, order it without any spice. We washed our meals down with a variety of beers, They had two beer options on promotion for two bucks, an Amber Ale and IPA. The portion size of the food, as you can see from the pictures, are plentiful. You can easily share the various dishes within a group of friends that are open to sharing. We topped off the main dishes with an order of pot stickers, they were perfectly steamed and not overdone. As busy as they seemed, the wait time from ordering time to serve time was extremely fast. We were very impressed with their timeliness and friendly approach throughout our interactions with the staff.

Mango sticky rice. As phenomenal as other people say it is.

This place does live up to the hype. We got the Khao soi which is a favorite of mine ever since I discovered it in Chang Mai. Yes I just said I discovered it like in Christopher Columbus. Not many Thai restaurants have this dish and when they do it's not that good but their dish is top notch. We also got the pad se ew which is a favorite of my partners. He kept raving about how good it was. And they definitely do not skimp on the meat! My only feedback for me is that it was a tad too salty but I'm sensitive to salty stuff, more than the average American. Since all of yelp raved about the mango sticky rice, we had to get that too and it was divine. My child predictably finished all the mango, and now I hope he doesn't expect that all mangos are bathed in a sweet blanket of coconut sauce. We got there right after it opened and by 1pm it was hustlin and bustlin and the room was loud. These people remain in business for a good reason. Their sh*t is good. Made our staycation in Sacramento worth it!

Always an excellent meal at this restaurant. My friends and I have gone a handful of times and they always accommodate our large group! The service is always wonderful. Everyone is so inviting. The food is excellent. I've tried many items fresh rolls, pad thai, papaya salad. And yellow curry to name a couple! Always delicious no matter what you order. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Are we able to order on Postmates or Doordash?

Yes, you are still able to order from them. You can have them deliver it and make sure that they deliver to your door during this time. Or you can pick it up. 😊

Does The Coconut On T have a Veterans Discount? Thank you.

I don't know but the two dollar happy hour beers are a great deal, and the food is priced right.

Do they use any peanut products/nut products in the food?

    Yes they do

I'm not sure if management or chef has changed but their food is not what I remembered from years ago. We initially ordered their tofu pad thai and gai yang and immediately noticed how pricey their menu was. They have a wall of specials and I remember being shocked that their orange chicken was $24. I didn't mind paying more than what I was used to for my pad thai because I remembered their food was delicious but I was shocked when my pad thai came out. It was literally drowned in sauce and looked like it was a bowl of noodle soup. I was still optimistic hoping that it tasted better than it looked but it just tasted like sweet rice noodle soup. I was hesitant to bring it up to the waitress after two bites but so glad I did because I would have hated myself if I left without saying anything. The waitress was kind and offered to remake the dish. Instead, I opted for something else because I was afraid to be disappointed again. I ordered their tofu drunken noodles since I've gotten it here before and remember it being tasty. I confirmed that the drunken noodle was going to be a dry noodle dish and thankfully it was. It was good but not the best I've ever had. My boyfriend had their gai yang which is a marinated grilled chicken dish. He said it was pretty dry without the sauce on the side but the sweet chili sauce provided was pretty tasty. It's probably not worth $26 given the how dry the chicken was and he said he would never order it again. Overall, the customer service was great and portions were good. I had to deduct 3 stars from my previous review as the food quality has significantly gone down in my experience and doesn't justify the high menu prices in my opinion.
