However, took 30 minutes to bring out the Jalapeno appetizer, the cheese wasnt melted and the it was half cold half hot. The service was spotty. The busboy was literally up our ass the entire time we were there, wiping down the table and getting drops of dirty rag water in our beers and water. Let me tell you. I received some of the best customer service in a long time! Ray was an absolute doll. He was so charismatic, attentive and quick on his feet. He both hosted us and served us making sure we had the greatest possible experience. He and kenny were fantastic! It's like they read our minds and got us exactly what we needed before we asked. Really nice new menu with some good specials. Happy hour until 2pm on weekends and evening specials from 6 to close. We made it just in time for happy hour tempura and hand rolls. I had a bento box to go and it looked so beautiful I almost didn't want to eat it. Not only did it look very appealing, but everything tasted so good. I am embarrassed to say I tried to save half of it, but I ended up eating the other half later that evening. The tempura is so delicious! So is the spicy tuna roll. I'm upset because I'm a very good customer, I order from here all the time. I saw that it was 15% off if you order online. I got everything in my cart and went to press submit and it would not confirm my order. The button was not working. So I went in to speak with them and showed them that the button was not working and asked if I can still have the 15% off and they told me no because it has to be online. I again showed them on my phone that the button was not working for confirm order, and they still said they could not give me the discount because I didn't order online, when it was their app that was faulty. OMG! OMG! When searching for a sushi restaurant on the way from LGB (Long Beach Airport) to my hotel, The Ayres Hotel Seal Beach (another stellar review to come) this restaurant was the closest with the greatest number of stars. The restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly and they didn't rush me. They gave me ample time to read the menu and even made a few suggestions that were on the money. They even had a special, buy one and get the 2nd half off... Just my luck that the suggested items were in my sushi wheelhouse and within the grouping of rolls on the special menu. Three different servers periodically came by to make sure that my drink was filled and that I was satisfied with the food. Speaking of which... Their Zen roll (YUMMY) is made using soy paper and comes with an amazing dipping sauce, a little sweet, a little sour (drool). The Rainbow roll had a good assortment of fish & shrimp, the avocado was perfectly ripe and the roll was wrapped well. And then there was the Washington roll, California roll on the inside with salmon on the top. Delicious! I have been going here for around 15 years (when it was still Niko niko). Sushi is very good but some policy changes to how many condiments they give you and how they handle phone calls have made me rethink my previously good opinion of them. I often get back home with take out order with no soy sauce chopsticks or ginger. They often will put you on hold and forget that they did so. This is why there line is constantly busy.
