CLOSED AT 10:00 MON-THURS!!! I had to put that at the beginning because the hours here on Yelp are wrong. They are only open until 10:30 Friday & Saturday. We (my fiancée, my son and I) found this out by chance when we showed up at 9:50, thinking they were still open another 40 minutes. That being said, one of the reasons they got 5 stars from me is that they didn't treat us like the "last minute" customers every server dreads. We weren't rushed through dinner at any point, which I see as a mark of good service. Moving on, we had the tempura vegetables and shrimp as an appetizer, which was delicious. My son had the kids' hibachi steak (he's not a fan of anything seafood), which, portion wise, would have been enough for most adults. And although he was stuffed, he asked for a box for the rest (which he never does). My girl had 3 tuna rolls and they were exactly the way she likes them. Now, not realizing there's a substantial size difference between the tuna rolls and the specialty rolls, I ordered a pink lady roll, a monster roll and a thunder roll. They were HUGE and I left the table wishing they had someone on staff with a wheelbarrow handy to cart me out. The food was superb and I really don't understand the negative reviews. The place has nice atmosphere, nice decor without the cliche Asian trappings and the staff was friendly and accommodating. These guys nailed it and we'll definitely be back. Longtime customers of Sapporo and never had any problem. However today, we received a cowboy roll with plastic in it, and clear soup that was extremely dark brown. Note: there are no hibachi tables to sit at, but the waitress claims they have a hibachi grill in the kitchen (so, a flat top) and "everything is the same, just no show." I'm here to tell you, it's not the same at all. Pros: The staff is very friendly. The clear broth soup and side salad were good - tasty and well balanced. I enjoyed the dressing on the salad. Bigger portions of the entree than I was expecting. The filet was cooked well and very tender. Cons: This place was absolutely EMPTY on a Thursday at 6:00 pm, which in turn lead to overstaffing. There were several hostesses, waitresses, and the poor sushi chefs just standing around. I felt like we were being stalked by our waitress and she was hiding around the corner peeking every few minutes to see if there was something she could remove from our table. The food was....sub par. We ordered the hibachi dinner for two, which was $55.00. Wayyyy overpriced for what quality was received. Our order came out within 7 minutes, which tells me not everything is cooked fresh and likely some things are being hot held. The seafood came already lukewarm and became cold very quickly. The scallops were not seared well and were squishy. The whole plate was VERY saucy. I put a chopstick under one side of the plate so the sauce wouldn't run into everything else. The sauces they serve on the side were also strange. The brown sauce was like bottled teriyaki and we thought the creamy sauce was mayonnaise based (the same sauce as the salad dressing). Not the traditional dipping sauces served with a hibachi meal. Once we paid ($68.00+ for one hot sake and our entrees - yeesh!), our waitress forgot to give our card back with the receipt. Good thing we noticed. May be psychological, but I've felt a little queasy with a stomach ache since dinner. :/ Sadly, we will definitely not be back. Considering this particular area has better options (Johnnys, Hideaway Pizza), I hope they'll replace this prime location with something worthwhile. read more

This is a new place in town we decided to try. We love sushi and this place has a huge variety. The prices were very reasonable with a nice wait staff. The interior is beautiful. We arrived a little over a hour before closing time, trying to be considerate and diligent to be gone by close. We got sat on a side that was empty and they proceeded to clean around us. The part that bothered us, was the use of a traditional broom and dustpan... effectively stirring up dirt and dust while we were trying to eat. Anyone who rated this place as remotely good has obviously never had good sushi at a good price. This place is awful. Everything on the menu comes up as such small portion sizes and is so expensive. There are 6 tiny avocado rolls in a 'serving' which costs $8!!!! And it's not even good!! When we ordered salmon and red snapper to go on our rolls they came up as a 2x2inch square and charged $5.50 each. Absolutely unbelievable. The seaweed salad came up as less than a cup size serving and there was hardly any rice. To add to that when we asked for a refund (bc I refuse to pay $43 for half a meals worth of food) the manager on shift proceeded to tell me I needed to go to other sushi restaurants and compare prices and 'that's just the way it is'. Like I said at the beginning, if anyone has ever had good sushi you'll know that no, that's not the way that it is. To add to that, as we were walking out, a guy who has just ate there walked past us and said "couldn't agree more". But we really should have known this place was going to be a disaster when we walked up to the door and the outside specials sign advertises "suchi". read more
