Looked this place up when looking for some baking supplies. This place is great. The prices are good, there is a wall of cookie cutters, an aisle of chocolate molds, premade frosting, chocolate, loads of sprinkles and piping tips, different shape/sizes of pans, and lots of other things. I want to love this place, they have an appropriate selection of things you may need to finish up a dessert order. I dread needing anything from here though because their hours are terrible. They don't update their social media accordingly, they're not responsive, and any timing you see online for them is never accurate. So much potential, but it's not worth the hassle. read more

I went here twice and both times was dissatisfied. She has a lot of non edible items and doesn't tell you this when you're checking out. At other supply stores like this one they have all non edible items behind the counter so before you purchase them they will tell you. Prices are a bit much, cheaper elsewhere read more

Had a great experience there a few days ago! When they didn't have the exact product I was looking for, the employee helped me by finding and explaining how to make what I was looking for pretty easily. She then pulled out a book that goes over my hobby (candy making) in detail, which is super helpful. The prices are pretty good on most things compared to other local baking supply stores. I witnessed another customer get upset about their return policy, and I have to agree with the customer. They do not allow returns on pans, but the only place they state that is on a sign in an obscure place behind the register and on their receipts (which you don't see til after you have bought the unreturnable item). She was pretty upset. They probably should have just made an exception. So, MY experience was GREAT. Hers wasn't really, I guess. Best cake decorating store around. They have the largest assortment of candy-making supplies I have seen. As well as cake decorating tools, pans, and supplies for the pro and semi-pro baker/candy maker. I came here to find peppermint oil and have been an avid customer ever since. I got my piping set here and with some advice from them, learned to use fondant on a cake, and fond my new, favorite bundt pan! The staff is EXTREMELY knowledgeable and VERY friendly and helpful. They did not make me feel like I was out of place or stupid, in fact they were very encouraging and supportive. I use to love this place.. but lately I feel like they are falling off.. the store size cut down in half some time ago.. and I was worried I wouldn't be able to find the things I needed.. that actually wasn't the case.. but lately every time I go in something happens. Today the lady was on the phone for a good 10-15 mins. When I asked for help.. she didn't have anything I needed except for one cookie cutter. So I say okay I'll just buy this and come back.. total is 1.58.. she won't accept charges less than $5. Which first of all she can't really do.. and secondly if you had all the items I needed it would not have been an issue. read more

I have shopped here for over 30 years, but I won't be anymore! I bought two things, a silicone mold and bag of blue chocolate buttons (under $20). My design plans changed and so I wanted to return these two items. The owner wouldn't even consider it. Said they have a sign, which I still didn't see, no returns during Covid! Really! I could understand the unopened chocolate buttons, but the mold? Sorry but you've lost a life long patron. I can find what I need elsewhere, always thought I was doing the right thing by shopping small and local. Won't be spending my money here anymore. read more

Sarah's store is a pleasure to visit. The staff is very friendly and always willing to help, even when they are involved in something else, such as setting up for a birthday party. The last time I was at the store, I noticed that they are now carrying a wide selection of Fat Daddio's cake pans and other items, which I previously had to order online. The Fat Daddio's cake pans are sturdier and better made than Wilton's and less expensive. I make cakes as a hobby, including wedding cakes for family. I've always been able to find what I'm looking for, but if it is something very unusual, I would suggest calling ahead. read more

Sarah's is a small cake and candy supply store. The staff is friendly and very helpful, and they have pretty much anything you'd need for cakes and candy making. From pans to sprinkles to fondant to chocolate molds and etc, they have all of the basics. Their prices are good, but some things are a little pricey, especially if you're used to ordering some of these things online from wholesale places. Nicer than Heinrich's in Center Line, but I don't know that they carry as much. I work in an upscale chocolate shop and also do cakes as a hobby, and I've had a few times where they haven't carried what I needed. I suppose smaller, independently owned places can only carry SO much though. I usually call ahead and ask so I don't waste a trip. read more

Had a great experience here. I am new to baking so I'm still learning and discovering new things. The staff are very very accommodating. The lady even directed me to the tools that does the same things but cheaper. They have a lot of selection here. I can spend a whole day here honestly. From candy making to cakes - this place is a little heaven. I also returned stuff that were a day over the return date but they were so kind and took it back. I love everything here - as you can see:) They have a bigger selction of tools and baking needs. Also, they carry Wilton tools here. Some of them are cheaper but most of the Wilton tools, you can find at Joe-anns or Michaels that are cheaper with coupons. read more

I have shopped here for well over a decade after we moved out to Oakland County and too far away from the shop I used to buy supplies at. I've loved this store for years and the first time I had an issue with a rude and unhelpful employee I wrote it off as a fluke. That was three visits ago. Since then I have had two more visits and two more encounters with unhelpful and/or rude employees. There used to be multiple knowledgeable employees in the store, especially during the holiday season, but the last few visits my questions are met with "I don't know, you'll have to ask the lady at the front". Well, the lady at the front knows the answer (I'm pretty sure she's the owner and she's been a fixture in the store for as long as I've been a customer) but she's not interested in answering questions so her responses are short, uninformative and not the least bit helpful. Today I went in expecting to spend over $100 on chocolate but after trying to decide whether to purchase pre colored or color my own, I left with just $40 worth because I couldn't get the answers I needed to feel comfortable trying something new and I was so irritated with how rudely I was treated that I just bought the bare minimum and left. I just won't bother coming back here anymore. I also noticed that the store, which is usually packed this time of year, was dead during my last 3 visits. The store also downsized a while back and now I'm wondering if that was due to a drop in sales. I would have given this store 10 out of 5 stars in years past but three strikes you're out. read more

They never have basic cake supplies in stock. I needed a metal cake smoother but they did not have one. I found one at Michaels which was probably cheaper than what they would have sold it for. read more
