My first visit I ordered the Brussels sprouts, which I absolutely LOVED, and the C&B Smash Burger SOOOO GOOD!!! Another time I came during the day with my friend and her son because we were craving BBQ. They ordered the hot links, brisket nachos which were HUGE and the smoked brisket sandwich. I was craving something lighter, so I went with the Caesar salad. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of how their Caesar is served in wedges instead of being chopped up, but overall the food was still delicious! Most recently, I came over the weekend for a little date night and we had such a fun time! The late-night wings and drinks were soooo yummy, and the servers were super friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is lively and fun with a huge open space and A LOT of seating. They also have a dance floor and live music on the weekends, which makes it such a fun spot whether you're coming for dinner, drinks, a date night, or a night out with friends. The restaurant has always been very clean every time I've visited too. Definitely one of those places in Simi Valley that works for pretty much any occasion!

I had trouble understanding the waiter a bit when he was explaining the beer menu and they were out of most of the local brands. He was very attentive though and quick friendly service. Also could barely understand the girl taking photos of everyone. Actually she couldn't understand me and I speak pretty clearly. I hate when they try to sell you pics but that's the way it goes and not a complaint. Just she would do better if she could converse with people and show some personality. I ordered brisket sandwich. It was just ok. Bread was soft and not of the higher quality you would expect like a fresh baguette. Fries were excellent. Portions were generous. Wife liked the beef brisket she ordered but they were out of bbq beans. Hard to believe for a "BBQ" restaurant. A manager should never let that happen. Would I go back? Hard to say but wouldn't crave it.

Unfortunately, almost all of the seating is in booths geared for 4 or 6 people (the one table that might have worked was occupied). No problem - we split into two parties of 4. Jess, our server, was by right away to get our beverage orders. Service was good throughout. I went with the BBQ chopped chicken salad ($22). I have enjoyed this dish before at other Wood Ranch locations. This one was just meh (I think they may have left off the dressing and just put on BBQ sauce). One of my friends had to send his dish back so he ended up eating well after the rest of us were nearly done (somewhat forgivable when a party of 8 comes in near closing time). Torn between giving 3 or 4 stars. But the hostess and the server tried so hard to make things work, I went with 4 stars. And yes, I would eat here again.

I was pleasantly surprise, I would definitely come back again. Why I recommend. The food was tasty, priced reasonably for the portion size. Service excellent, friendly, efficient. Just a few minutes away, tucked into the corner of a shopping area next to a Target, it is easy to get to, easy to order, and available for takeout or dine-in. The menu offered several tasty-sounding vegetarian sandwiches, so I really had to spend some time deciding before I even got there. I settled on the Californian (house-marinated artichoke hearts, avocado, sun-dried tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, green leaf lettuce, herb aioli) and some kettle chips as an add-on. It does come with a small green side salad (Urbane House Side Salad), with a vinaigrette dressing. The sandwich was very tasty, with plenty of vegetables, and clearly had artichokes aplenty. I ordered with extra aioli on the side, but in the end did not need it, as the sandwich was very moist as made. (I did use it as a dip for the chips - no waste here!) Quick service, good value, tasty food, clean location - for a small chain sandwich shop, very good!

I came here to try out California Bun, an eatery that has harnessed an interesting (long overdue) concept, to package portable food. Here they prepare snack sized bites (or a little more) of favorite food fancies, enveloped in a daily fresh baked round brioche bun. The store is high ceiling, spacious and large, with ample space to dine in or carry out. It is a mom and pop joint, that is slowly but surely, beginning to make a mark. On the main wall, elegantly displayed, are all the many enticing varieties, for the day. My visit was designed to take something to go. The conundrum here is, what to order, because there were so many inviting choices that were talking to you. I finally decided to select three of these evenly browned and differently topped buns. The El Sabroso (Egg, cheddar & jack cheese, bacon & Jalapeno salsa, garnished with Cheese, bacon & jalapeño). The Roadside Burger (Seasoned ground beef, grilled onions, white American cheese, & secret house burger sauce, garnished with Cheese & bacon). The Mac Daddy (Creamy mac and cheese with a cheddar, jack, and parmesan cheese blend, garnished with Panko bread crumbs). So whats the verdict? The Mac Daddy was my least favorite. In comparing the other two, the Roadside Burger seemed to have the higher of (inside filling/inside bread) ratio, as compared to the El Sabroso. However, the latter is the most attractive bun on the outside and overall, contains a good mix of flavors and slight kick. Any food with a visible Jalapeño is a magnet, for me. Still, this concoction needs more of the egg mixture, to achieve the right balance. In general, all 3 buns were soft, had a nice texture, bread taste and chew. Service here is warm, inviting, friendly and informative.

Nolan was our server and he was on it. Wasn't obnoxious about giving good service but on top of it. Got our orders right, was accommodating. I love the ambience. Not California dining with bright lights and high noise level. Old time sexy ambience where you think the couple in the next booth might be having an affair. I'm on the west end of Simi so I forget about Sutter's. I'll make more of an effort however. Cherry cobbler excellent.

Steakhouse Prices, Worse Than Cafeteria Food…read more Spider webs on the dining room lamps and food stains on our tablecloth were the first things I noticed during our first visit. Not exactly the first impression you'd expect from a steakhouse restaurant. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms appetizer. It arrived with plates but no silverware. We waited several minutes assuming our server would return with utensils, but she never did. We had to flag her down and ask for them. I also ordered a glass of wine that never arrived. The restaurant was slow, and by the time our entrées were served, I was still waiting. When we reminded our server, she just said "oh the wine yes!" She completely forgot! The food was even more disappointing than the service. The loaded mashed potatoes tasted extremely sour, no cheese, just shredded raw onions and sour cream with burnt top. How can you call this loaded baked potato? The mac and cheese was dry, bland, and lacked any real cheese flavor. Even the green beans had to a burnt pieces mixed in.None of the sides were at edible level. The steak was the only thing on my plate thats tolerable and even that left my stomach uncomfortable after my meal. The biggest disappointment was the food. For steakhouse prices, we were served loaded potatoes overwhelmed by raw onion, mac and cheese that tasted like cardboard, burnt green beans, and an average steak. The service and cleanliness issues only added to the frustration. We usually dine at Larsen's but decided to try support local businesses. After this experience, we'll be sticking with Larsen's. This will be our first and last visit.
