These burritos are large, but not quite fully in-charge. I'd liken them to the mid-level management of breakfast burritos....lol. If you didn't know it was here, you'd miss it. But if you work in the area, it's probably one of your staples. Sarai's was recommended by an employee of a local business, so its name rings true in these streets. I've been craving a good breakfast burrito, one with potatoes instead of fries and some delicious refried beans. Thankfully, my lady received the recommendation of Sarai's, saw that they used potatoes instead of fries, and then proceeded to hook me up! These burritos, coming in at $12-$18 (depending on your add-ons and if you pay with card), are LARGE! After adding beans and potatoes, I'm talkin' two hands, better cut it in half, 2 lbs large. I love a good breakfast burrito, and while these are good, the flavor leaves a little bit to be desired. The salsas are solid, but they're not the spiciest, nor the most flavorful. I do appreciate that they do not skimp on the salsas. Overall good, but not exceptional. I've been 3 times now, and had a pretty similar experience each time, which is great. I was in the area and randomly stopped here for a carnitas burrito. I liked that the carnitas was grilled on the flat top which gave it a nice crispy texture. It came with some guacamole and pico. The red salsa is a little more spicy than your average taco shop. I liked that they added some lemon and salsa in my bag it cut thru the fatty pork. They have their own parking lot which they share with 7-11 and some cash advance place. There are a few tables inside. TIP: They do charge $1 for using a credit card. Ok it's our last day in San Diego, and the hotel breakfast got mobbed for some reason. Everyone was out and all I got was a couple pieces of bacon. I remembered there's a taco shop next door that I heard was pretty good. So let's check it out. Breakfast menu on left side I order the chorizo. Horrible experience this morning for breakfast. I got up called in 4 burritos for our breakfast brunch and every single burrito was so salty!!!! Ruined my day. Each person complained im so embarrassed. I called the store and they don't know what to do. If 4 people say their burritos were extremely salty how do you argue that. I never would call to complain. Excellent breakfast burritos. I love potatoes in my breakfast burritos and these were perfect. The potatoes were fresh, fluffy, soft, tasty. The bacon was cut into good size chunks and was plentiful. The eggs were good and did not overwhelm the taste of the other ingredients. The flour tortilla was light, fresh, and nicely warmed on grill. Tomatillo salsa on top was flavorful and a great addition. Everything tasted delicious. We had to share it because it was so big! Staff was friendly. Thursday afternoon quick snack. 3 Mini Tacos Carne Asada. Large serving size, double tortillas, delicious guacamole and pico de gallo salsa on top. Tried this taco shop for the first time and wow, everything was delicious! I got the rolled tacos crispy, flavorful, and gone way too fast. My fiancé had the carne asada chimichanga and was immediately silent, which is usually the universal sign of really good food We also got 2 horchatas, and they were so refreshing and tasty. The older gentleman who usually helps me has always been kind and professional, but unfortunately, he wasn't there tonight. Instead, I had to deal with a younger employee who not only messed up my order the last time, but also had an attitude again today. Communication was difficult even though I'm bilingual and when I expressed frustration, she told me, and I quote: "If me taking your order is a problem, you can order another day." I like that they are open like super early, I highly recommend ordering in the morning. Since I've been going there the morning crew is fantastic, and the food is great and given in large portions, I've ordered a carner asada burrito with beans and cheese inside and with no pico, and my goodness they made it perfect. I don't mind paying the .75 cents because I know the food will be worth it. Though the shop's appearance may look rough around the edges but that's okay , I think it's the food and customer service that counts and this place has got it. read more

I originally went to the Firestone on Broadway in the 800 block, I knew I had to wait for the car but I hadn't eaten breakfast yet so I asked one of the managers was there a good place to eat close by preferably Mexican food. He immediately perked up and he said oh have you been to Sarais taco shop? I immediately said no I have not. He said it's not even a half a block from here just walked down the street. It's on the left. You'll see it in the far corner. I found it very easily. It's cute and quaint small place that packs a punch with the food that they deliver. I have now been here four times and every single time was pleasantly surprised at the food. They specialize in tortoise and they are the best tortoises I have had and their french fries are to die for. I will give you a warning the torches are gigantic. I can only eat half of one and I'm a pretty good eater. if you're looking for a great place with an extensive menu of Mexican food great breakfast burritos, excellent tortas, superb tacos, and their salsas both red and green are delicious and tasty. I highly recommend going to. Sarais taco shop and I guarantee you will be a repeat customer like I am. I was getting my car checked out today at the Firestone spot down the street so my husband and I decided to grab lunch while we waited. I got the three rolled tacos and a cheese quesadilla while my husband decided on the chorizo with eggs plate. His plate also included four corn tortillas and said it was pretty delicious. The rolled tacos were good (wished there were more meat) but the cheese quesadilla stole the show for me since it was hot and super cheesy even til the last bite. They also had two types of sauce the red and green - both were slightly spicy. The red is definitely more spice but the green one is quite refreshing. Service was great and parking was plentiful.
