Parking was easy, cookies were good and prices were affordable. Passed by Sarkis on my way home and decided to try it. Passed by around 7 pm and parking was easy. It was my first time and I told the staff. I wished they walked me through a few of their items or were willing to answer questions. None of the items were labeled in the display cases so I had no idea what they were. I just pointed to some cookies in the display case and paid for them. Some cookies had pistachios in them. They were good and I may come back if I crave them. read more

Friendly staff, excellent spinach boreg, fresh baklava, and the best knefeh sandwich! Always a pleasant time at Sarkis - they have parking and other locations if this one isn't the most convenient for you. While mostly a takeaway establishment, they also have some tables and chairs inside and are hospitable if you want to stay and enjoy. read more

We had a grand opening at a nearby location and decided to order from Sarkis Pastry. Everyone loved all of the different pastries and cookies. I think the real winner was the feta and potato turnover pastries. They were warm with flaky dough. Absolutely delicious. We had trays of cookies, baklava and Karabeej with Pistachio & Natiff Marshmallow to dip in. All of our tenants seemed to really love all of the pastries and cookies. We served these with fresh fruit and warm coffee. Thank you Sarkis Pastry for making out event turn out so well. read more

A friend and I stopped by for dinner and were beyond impressed by the flavor and quality of our meal! We ordered the jarko (potatoes and meat), mutabal (eggplant dip), and the beet salad. Everything was incredible. The potatoes were perfectly roasted and seasoned, and the meat was tender. We don't even like eggplant and the mutabal was so good I wanted to bring a jar of it home. The beet salad was loaded with beets and flavored nicely with acid. The folks working were kind as well. Overall an absolutely amazing meal and we will be back next time we're in town!! read more

This bakery is a little hidden gem! I had written a 5-star review last year and today I happened to be in the area again, so I figured I would revisit Sarkis Pastry. They served me an excellent latte with a touch of cinnamon paired with the most delicious chocolate pastry. I had some work to do on my laptop and the wireless was fast and reliable. Just nice, kind people in an immaculately clean and comfortable environment. I always prefer exploring small family-owned businesses over big chains. It can be a little hit and miss, but occasionally you stumble upon an exceptional business. Sarkis is where I go if I'm looking for quality pastry or looking for a great dessert contribution for a potluck. I've been a fan for years, and I think their baklava and cookies were my first introduction to their greatness. I soon started enjoying their savory items too (like their za'atar-covered breakfast items), and whenever I'm in Glendale or nearby, I'm sorely tempted to stop by and pick up a snack. I never had an issue with parking (there's a lot on site), and the service is consistently efficient and friendly. We were in Glendale for a wedding and so didn't have a ton of time to explore (family wedding so there were lots of family obligations), but I really wanted to do a bakery crawl in Glendale Sunday morning before we headed to West LA and then north up the coast. Sarkis was one of our stops, and we tried three different pastries (two versions of baklava and a savory potato pastry). They were all okay, but it wasn't my favorite bakery of the crawl. I was very disappointed by this bakery. I had read high reviews about this bakery having the best baklava in Glendale. I love baklava and was extremely excited to taste it. The service was fast and the workers were attentive. It is a small shop with seating if you would like to enjoy any of the goods you grab in store. Otherwise, their packaging is also cute. Unfortunately, the baklava here was just barely adequate. It uses a sugar-based syrup rather than honey, which gave it a sugary flavor rather than featuring the warmth and depth of honey syrup. The syrup also penetrated through the entirety of the phyllo dough. I almost walked out without purchasing anything because they didn't look fresh enough to purchase and properly review but I figured that this is an accurate reflection of their product. Definitely come by for other baked goods, but if you are picky about your baklava, or are just looking for good baklava in general, do not get your hopes up. If you are just looking for baklava in general, this will do the job. read more

Another great bakery in Glendale!! Once you come in, there's a ton of pastries and cookies. What's good: - Pistachio Cake: Light, nutty pistachio flavor, creamy. - Chocolate ganache cake: tasty chocolate cake with ganache on top. - Pistachio cookie: It's hard to find pistachio pastries that have a lot of pistachio flavor in it. Wonderful. Everyone wore a mask, not chaotic inside. Has a parking lot. The packaging is quite nice too. What stood out from here and other local bakeries was the exceptional kind service. I am positive that these reviews are false and come from relatives and friends or are paid. Either that ir they come from people that are unfamiliar with Arabic sweets. I have really never tasted worst sweets, and I have ordered from many places. The baklava has a tiny amount of nuts, not just a little - but like less than 1/4 of the needed amount and are dry and so not taste fresh at all. The syrup has a strange taste. What they call "macaroons" are dry and almost syrup-less. In addition, the website states that they ship within 24 hours. I placed the order on Tuesday night and it was shipped on Friday and arrived on Saturday. I paid extra for one day shipping. I am going out of town on Monday and if the order didn't arrive today, it would have been a waste. The mamoul is not bad, but I've tasted much better . I paid over a hundred dollars for this order and I feel that it was a waste. I don't know if I am allowed to recommend places - but places on the East Coast especially in Michigan are by far much better. I just did not have time and did t want to pay $50 for two-day shipping- big mistake read more

Wonderful baklava! They are a "must stop by" whenever I'm in Glendale. They have some of the best baklava I've ever tasted! They make their own phyllo dough with butter instead of buying commercially made phyllo dough. You can taste the difference. You can taste the butter and the crispy, fresh texture. They have cashew, walnut, almond baklavas and many more. They also ship their pastries too. Highly recommended! read more

I was here for the first time on saturday, when I walked in greeted the old lady who was helping another customer, and told that was my first time at their bakery and want to browse what they have. She appeared to be in a bad mood and seemed that she was in a hurry. Traditional and authentic Middle Eastern and European pastries are the results of a family history in the baking industry for over 40 years. Though the baklava is one of many Sarkis Pastry favorites, we also feature many other varieties of original Middle Eastern sweets as well as French style birthday and wedding cakes; each with endless variety of styles and decorations. Established in 1983.

Sarkis Pastry was introduced in the United States by being the first Middle Eastern/Armenian bakery in Glendale. Expanding into new locations, Sarkis Pastry next opened a shop in Anaheim in 1995. Soon after in 1999, the newest of 3 locations was opened in Pasadena. Presently, all 3 locations are moving forward serving their respective communities.

Always a pleasant experience at these bakeries. This Glendale bakery café was clean, bright, and beautifully organized with a large variety of pastries, cakes, and drinks on display. I tried the Strawberry Soft Cream Cake, Berries cake, Curry Croquette, and their signature iced Korean lattes. The pastries were soft and flavorful without being overly sweet, and the cakes looked just as good as they tasted. The curry croquette wasn't a favorite of mine. It was my first time trying and the spices didn't amaze my palette. I will have to try their garlic bread next time if I feel like getting something savory. Their sweets are always a hit for me! Overall, the staff was friendly and greeted customers warmly as they come in. Small parking lot at this location but still worth the wait. Good visit!

We bought a variety of pastries, and all of them were tasty and extremely delicious. Our favorite was the Dubai Chocolate mousse dessert. The napolean was a second favorite, very crunchy layers with amazing cream filling. Presentation of all of the desserts were also spot on. The servers were all very helpful and friendly to answer our questions. We enjoyed our desserts outside on their patio, great experience!
