Sarku Japan will always be a place that I know will have a solid quality of food to quantity ratio. Between the beef and chicken, I'd lean more towards the beef even though I usually prefer chicken because the sauce is just so good and makes it much juicier. The workers here are very friendly, and it's fun watching them cook the food in front of you. You can even ask them for extra sauce on top of the meat and rice and they'd gladly give it to you, free of charge.

Lousy service, skimps on portion sizes, even when paid extra

No bang for extra bucks ($3 MORE),!! Came to Sarku, which we do.pretty much every other week! Tonight was THE WORST!! Normally, mom have me add extra chicken to her order. Almost every time the manager would admit it and would have the staff ad at least a half scoop more, afterall, $3 more is almost 25% more than the regular price!! I guess the staff threatened to quit, if management didnt side with them? The food is good, just don't expect to get what you pay for and NEVER EVER PAY FKR EXTRA CHICKEN, YOU'LL BE GIVING THE BANDITS A LICENSE TO ROB YOU, especially if you're ASIAN!!

Teriyaki chicken bowl and bento bowl. Both 10/10.

Located inside Valley Fair Mall, food is always made to order. Their veggies still have a good crunch and the chicken is grilled nicely! Decent prices and definitely fulfilling. My go to when at this mall shopping.

I should try chicken teriyaki instead because the beef teriyaki was a bit mid. Food was oily

The foodcourt can be overwhelming with all the different options, yet Sarku Japan always hits the spot. You will encounter somewhat of a long line, but it moves fast and I take it as an indicator that you made the right choice. It is difficult to find another place with the same portions, price, and quality.

Yummy Teriyaki! I stopped by Sarku Japan while I was at Westfield mall. They are located in the food court on the second floor. Didn't really know what to eat that's a slam dunk, so I thought I'd tried chicken Teriyaki as it's one of my favorite dishes to eat. And wow, I hit a jackpot! This chicken Teriyaki was so flavorful and tender that I wanted to get another one to take home. The chicken was cut in little pieces, that I like, as it makes it easier to chew and eat. But one of the best parts is Sarku Japan is not stingy when it comes to serving size so the price is a good value! I will definitely return again because of the yummy chicken and the generous serving! The only negative part is I live in the east bay! But will definitely return again whenever I'm in San Jose!

Here is my two cents on the quality quantity in price of my order.... It was delivered by GrubHub in a timely manner... thank you GrubHub... This is the first time me eating. Sarku Japan... they were offering buy one get one free of teriyaki chicken.. plus I also bought two egg rolls .. The egg rolls were satisfactory, but they are only medium hot, not very hot temperature wise.. I also requested extra chicken and they gave me lots of extra chicken. I was impressed... they also gave me without asking soy sauce, but I also asked for hot sauce in which they complied... I also requested fried rice... I thought the fried rice was a little bit on the west side but as far as flavor goes, it was very good! For the price, including delivery I thought it was an excellent mail and you definitely should try it....

This is good if you're craving a quick over rice meal. The flavor is okay but better if you add sriracha. Sometimes the line can be long but they're pretty dialed in on efficiency.

I get this often when I want a quick lunch break during shopping. It's a decent quick meal. They make the food on a grill and have most of it ready. Only time you have to really wait is during the lunch and dinner rush. The go to dish is teriyaki chicken. I tried the others (shrimp and beef) it wasn't that good. You can swap rice for noodle (+0.80) which I always do. I also recommend getting extra sauce. Just ask for it at the end. The downside is that the veggies are always soggy as it's frozen veggies. It's not the best but a decent quick and affordable meal.

I order chicken teriyaki once in a while. I either get with fried rice or noodles. It is located in a mall. I usually order with ride share. If you are in Westfield mall try. I really like it.

Sarku Japan has been a go to comfort food since elementary school, one of my fav mall food places for sure. I remember when they used to do the samples of teryaki chicken on a mini uncooked pasta . This place gives so much nostalgia. I recommend the noodles option over the rice. What I love about this is how simple this dish is and you can get your source of protein, carb and veggie in one dish. The food still is banging and its still super affordable. It is a plus that it can be eaten in 2 meals unless you're a big eater! The service is super quick. Would be back for a quick easy cheap meal.

Terrible customer service

I came here today trying to pick up my order and was asking the lady how long it would take to see if we had time to get drinks and jay working the register started yelling at us and saying how he already told us it wasn't ready and it wasn't gonna be ready until a little bit we never heard him say it the first time and he came off really aggressive when he didn't need to be luckily the lady was nice enough but overall just a rude experience from him

When it comes to mall food court places, Sarku is always my go to and it hits every time! I always order their popular chicken teriyaki and it definitely fills you up. Love the portion size, affordable prices, and how your meal is cooked to order. Chicken is cooked perfectly and you can witness the cooking as you wait for your order to be ready as well.

Good portion! Spicy garlic edamame was a great appetizer! We also got the hot sake & Sapporo (so refreshing)! Good service with friendly & attentive workers. Once seated, service is good and food came out pretty fast. Interestingly, they have a few more dishes in their menu that are not offered in the Mtn. View location. We ordered: - Chicken Karaage: Crispy outside and tender inside. The portion size is on the smaller side and wasn't served as hot (temp) compared to the Mtn. View location - Crispy Onigiri Bites (with Chashu): Excellent. Chashu is tasty and the onigiri is crispy. This one is available only at this location. - Miso Black Cod (2 pcs): Delicious. Soft, melt in your mouth buttery and flavorful - Nabeyaki Udon: Light and satisfying. Quality is same as Mtn. View location - Unagi Siero Set: This is a pretty big set good enough for 2. Comes with eel over rice in a steamer basket, veggies in a steamer basket, fried tempura and side of udon. In general, food is equally as good as the one in Mtn. View with minor differences. There is always a line if you come during peak time. Parking lot is small and you may need to find street parking.

3 of us came here for lunch on Saturday around noon. There're plenty of tables available inside and…read morewe got seated right away. Both decor and service were minimal. We grabbed the menus ourselves from a nearby table. We originally wanted to try their AYCE, but since the whole table had to participate, and one of us wasn't that hungry, we decided to order a la carte. We're glad we did. The 3 of us were already stuffed after sharing an appetizer and 4 signature rolls. The sweet potato tempura came out piping hot; the batter wasn't too thick. While the dipping sauce lacked flavor, the dish was still ok, and not too oily. We're impressed by the number of signature rolls they offered, and tried to pick something we hadn't seen at other sushi restaurants. My favorite was the lobster tail tempura that came with the Boujee rolls. It was tasty with a light batter. The plating was beautiful. The torched salmon, shrimp tempura and spicy tuna were good as well, but I didn't really see any real crab inside. The Skittles roll was pretty delicious, too. I liked that it had unagi, crab, tobiko, and avocado among other things. The Umami roll also had unagi and carb, but the salmon skin and bonito flakes were what made the roll special. My daughter didn't care for the salmon skin, though. The Black Mamba was interesting if you liked softshell crab. I didn't care for the macadamia nuts, though. Portion size was huge. However, their rolls weren't rolled very tightly nor cut evenly, and their rice was on the sweeter side as other Yelpers had mentioned. Since most of the rolls had similar sauces, they kind of tasted very similar, despite the different ingredients. I wouldn't mind coming back again to try other items on their menu when I'm in the area.

Knowing Kakuna is one of the few AYCE sushi spots left in the area, we had to give it a try. Even…read morethough these establishments were our go-to with buddies back in the day, one can only endure so much rice nowadays. To each their own, though--getting old, hehe! Food: B For the AYCE Premium experience, they offer an extensive list of options to choose from. Adding the premium option unlocks access to the nigiri and special selection. Rolls: These were definitely solid and meet up with the standards around the Bay. So if you have an itch ya need to scratch for good ole 'Murica-style rolls, they gotchu. Special selection: You can only choose one per person. We opted for the Boujee Roll and the Sashimi Salad. The Boujee Roll--an upscale roll made with premium ingredients--was good, and the Sashimi Salad was solid. Nigiri: Left the best for last, but we were disappointed with the quality of this lineup. Knowing that it was the premium addition, the quality wasn't the best--and yes, this is factoring in that it's AYCE, but the texture and taste were still a bit off. Overall, we would come back maybe for the à la carte rolls, or if we do AYCE, we might just stick with the regular option. Vibe: B Service: B+ Friendly staff checked on us regularly during our stay and made sure our water were full. - John
