My friend ordered the duck soba, I had the tempura soba, and we also shared a couple of a la carte dishes. Finding high-quality, authentic soba in the Bay Area is quite challenging, so this place is a true gem for soba lovers. While I've enjoyed dinner here multiple times in the past, this was my first lunch visit. I didn't drink this time since I was driving, but their menu is excellent for those who enjoy pairing their meal with drinks. My oyako don was cooked to perfection, the seasoning was on point. Portion was very generous with good chicken to rice ratio. There're a few pieces of shiitake mushroom in the bowl as well. As the meal progressed, our broth became extremely cloudy and thick from cooking. We politely asked if we could receive a fresh pot of the same broth--not a different broth, just a new pot so we could continue enjoying our meal. Unfortunately, this request was also denied. The broth flavoring was also underwhelming and started to taste the same after our first refill. What made the experience disappointing was the lack of flexibility and willingness to accommodate reasonable requests, especially during a slow service period. Customer service and hospitality are an important part of the dining experience, and we left feeling that our concerns were dismissed rather than addressed.
