I've been addicted to food court Japanese food since I was a kid and at 37 I'm just as hooked as I ever was. Now, it's been awhile since I've visited a Sarku Japan location but I had some time to kill at the mall so I decided it was time to get myself some Teriyaki Chicken with rice. The food court here is really spacious, has a ton of seating, and the Sarku location itself was clean and the staff was super quick to get things going. I ordered the basic teriyaki chicken with white rice and for around $12 I was satisfied enough. The plate of food itself was super freaking hot and even when I dug in a few minutes later after sitting down the food all tasted freshly made and delicious. Would I rather be eating some top notch sushi at a sit down Japanese spot? Yeah, of course, but this place knows how to serve tasty food fast and I'll forever be a fan of this place. Located inside the Del Amo mall at the Food Court. I purchased the chicken teriyaki bento box. This is great value at $14, the meal comes with rice, veggies, protein, gyoza and some rolls (4). I did not purchase a beverage. The meal did not come with a drink, those are sold separately. I really enjoyed my food. I could not finish the entire thing at one sitting so I had the rest for dinner. They had other menu options that looked equally appealing in quality and price. Found myself doing a little shopping here in Del Amo Mall looking for some Tommy Bohama cologne among a few other things. When the appetite geared up, I happen to walk past the food court and Sarku Japan caught my attention, and by extension my taste buds. Proceeded to order the chicken teriyaki plate with extra chicken to go with it. With some don't realize is that if you have any appetite at all and have any size to you, you are going to have to get the extra chicken or beef by sheer default, and I happen to think they know that. Lol I was curious to see how this location stacked up to the mall I'm closest to in Fox Hills, Culver city. The food at both locations are good, and this was solid as far as taste and quality goes. I'd even go so far as to say that when they got through adding their extra portion to the plate, it seemed at least 10 to 15% more chicken than the location in Fox Hills, Culver City. And while the line took quite a bit long considering there weren't that many orders ahead of me, it was a solid outing. I'd recommend this location in their food court here in Del amo. read more

My sushi roll earns 5 stars from me. Everything about the experience felt sufficient to good, and the quality exceeded my expectations but it's a mall so my experience was a very solid 4 stars. Sushi and Japanese food cover a wide range, and within the fast-casual sushi category, this place holds its own. They assemble the rolls right in front of you, which makes a difference. The rice, sauces, and ingredients taste fresher because everything is made to order. The pricing is also hard to beat. I got the Red Bull roll. The selection is limited to six rolls, with three being slightly more specialty options, but it works for what it is. There's no real ambiance since it's in a busy mall food court and you bus your own table. Even with Mitsuwa nearby, this is still a strong, convenient option. I may check out Mitsuwa next time and compare. Honestly, none of these bigger thoughts were on my mind when I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon looking for something quick and relatively healthier during a shopping trip. It fit the bill perfectly. In a food court full of fried and heavier options, having fresh sushi available is a great alternative. For comparison, I also had Vons sushi two days later and attached a photo (clearly labeled) just for reference. I'm impressed by the workers such a demanding a fast paced job and they handled it well. read more

The restaurant is located within the mall, so expect the sorroundings to be filled with people and a lot of restaurants nearby. The ambiance was quite pleasant and I enjoyed waiting for my order while watching the food being made in front of me. Sarku Japan has very kind staff who were willing to help at any point during the order. I have no complaints about the service since the experiance of watching the chicken teriyaki bowl being made was a very interesting experiance. The meal was cooked exceedingly, the chicken just wasn't as flavorful as expected. But however, I had a fun time trying it for the first time and I loved the way they cooked the rice. My wife was going to Sarku to buy a gift card for her friend so I asked her to pick up something for dinner. I ordered the teriyaki chicken with extra chicken since it was only a couple of dollars more. The good: Extremely generous portion of food for what they charge. The chicken was moist and tender. The rice was nice and fluffy, not dry and crusty like some fast food places where the rice has been sitting in the rice pot for an extended period of time. My wife said there were a lot of people in line so it appears to be a popular spot. The bad: The teriyaki sauce is watery and doesn't taste like traditional teriyaki sauce to me. It reminds me of the chicken plate at Beef Bowl which doesn't thrill me. This wouldn't be my go to place by any means. It's not that it's bad but it's not very good either. Just kinda meh'. Just my opinion. This review is based on one item so I can't really comment on whether or not it's worth a stop there or not. If you ask me, I like the food here. I keep going back and ordering the same thing because it's always delicious, fresh, and pretty healthy compared to most mall spots. My whole family enjoys eating here, and I'd definitely recommend anyone who hasn't tried it to give it a shot. The chicken is always a standout. it's so good that even the sample they handed out had me sold. Service is also very friendly, which makes the experience even better. That said, not everything hits the same. The shrimp, noodles, and veggies were tasty overall, but I wished they had a bit more flavor. This place takes way too long and they don't go in order. The numbers don't even go in order. For example, 157 for their order before mine, which was 152. After 20 minutes I went up to the counter and said I was 152 and they were up to 157 now and asked if my food was ready and now looked at my ticket and saw the 152 and lied and said my food wasn't ready yet because mine takes longer. He gives me quid pro quo Power Trip vibes, but I smiled and was gracious and thanked him and waited They called 164 and 163 and etc. Every number but mine. I also noticed that people that were in line behind me got their food before me. I ordered at 1:25 pm. Finally went up to the counter after over 30 minutes and lines of people after me getting their food first and asked for a refund since everyone was getting their food before me. The cashier was nice and said that my food was ready. It was MAU who was holding it. And MAU also intentionally never put my order # on the screen. I monitored it the entire time and I could see him watching me do so. Mau knew I was in line bc of an issue and never said anything. I told Mau and the cashier that Mau checked my ticket number and told me directly that my food wasn't ready. Mau also ignored that. I let them know that he skipped me and he had my food the entire time and MAU didn't even apologize. The cashier had to actually grab the food for me. That is so unprofessional that you have some guy there on a Power trip trying to get attention with girls. You need to remove him and put someone else. That's bad business read more

Very friendly service!!! I was given a sample of the chicken and it was soooo good!! So we decided to order two plates. The chicken, shrimp, noodles and veggies 7/10 It just needed more flavor!! We also got the beef and chicken plate with rice and veggies and did not like the beef. 4/10 for that one, not sure if it wasn't cooked right or if it was just fat but it was not appetizing My daughter got the rainbow sushi and those were okay. I got the California rolls and they okay too, 6/10 Veggie spring rolls 2/10, the veggies inside the spring rolls were sour. I've never had a spring roll where the veggies in there are sour. I just decided not to eat them. Super busy Saturday at lunch, so it's a very popular place. I ordered on the app and got $5 off my first order. Had to tell them at the counter that I had an online order because no one else had one and I was afraid they didn't have my order. It took a few minutes past my estimated time to get my food. The food is fresh and very tasty. The chicken was a bit too tough for my toddler to eat, but she liked the noodles and shrimp and California rolls. Hey hey! So we had the try this place although there is some bad reviews buuut let me tell ya!!! It's was damn delicious! I got the chicken bento box with a side of shrimp tempura, and the husband got the beef and shrimp teriyaki. It was so gooood! Fresh and hot! My Cali roll in my bento was fresh! Service was quick! Somehow Sarku Japan always hits the spot! I go back and forth from the chicken teriyaki plate and the shrimp plate. They're both equally as good! The cashiers are always in a rush to get your order, however I kind of expect that when they have an extremely long line. The chicken is really juicy and the teriyaki is a little sweet but nothing too absurd. The rice and veggies are just right! If you're in the food court and don't know what to order? This was a pleasant new place to have at the Del Amo food court. I truly enjoyed their beef teriyaki, but instead of rice, I got it with noodles and it was a killer difference. It was mixed in with some spices and a bit of peppers coming together for an enjoyable meal. My girlfriend got the bento box with beef teriyaki, salad, four pieces of sushi, and three gyoza dumplings. She also got some egg rolls to bring it all together. They have a sign that lights up your number but if someone is in the way, you'll never see it if you're not paying attention. read more

But this location would not honor it, saying that it was only available through the app. Unfortunately, the app was not working for everyone. Wasted people's lunch time. So, my partner and I wanted to try this new Japanese fast food because we saw that they had bento boxes and we wanted to try that. We told each other we were going to come back and we did, which we came back on Saturday November 22, 2025. We were so excited to try it. It was around 3:00pm that we ordered. My partner got the beef plate and I got shrimp bento boxes. However, when we got the food my partner liked his but my shrimp bento box was a disappointment. The shrimp had no flavor at all and tastes so fishy, which by the way should not taste like that. The sushi tasted the same way since it had the shrimp in it as well. The only thing that was okay was the little veggies and the gyoza. That would be the last time we at there, especially for $30. Seafood should never taste fishy. read more

The only reason for not 5 stars is bc there weren't enough shrimp in our chicken and shrimp plate. I almost went back to ask for the shrimp bc I didn't see any when I first opened up my take out box. My daughter literally had to fork it out for me. But the taste was definitely there for a to go type of restaurant at the mall, I was impressed with the price. It's a good meal and they're generous with rice. The plate also came with some veggies which complemented well with the proteins. First time eating there today. Had the shrimp bento box and it was very good. I was unable to finish the food and went to ask for a small container into which I could place the leftover food to take home, so I don't have to carry a big bento box with me while shopping. The person behind the counter told me :"No.". I thought she did not understand so I explained that I want a small box for the leftovers. Again, :"No". No explanation, no other words. The guy that cooks the food handed me over a paper plate. I asked total of 4 times, and offered to pay for the box. Again, one word answer. When I asked why, I was told :" for customers ". I reminder her she gave me my food less than 10 minutes ago. I never got the box. A reason why would have been appreciated. Food was good, customer service left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

I placed an order through the Sarku app from the Del Amo parking lot, then went up into the food court to pick up my order. When I got there, the store was closed! Why would the app allow me to place an order with a closed store? When I got back to the car, I Googled the Sarku Contact Us number and called it. A voicemail message immediately came on and said no one was available. I left a message stating that I want the charge to my credit card credited. Two days later I get an email saying that "Sarku cash" will be added to my Sarku app account. I replied and asked if my credit card will be credited as I asked, as I presumed that the cash added to my app account was for my trouble. Not getting a reply for two days, I followed up with them. They finally responded and said they will credit my credit card instead (which is what I asked for in the first place). The Sarku cash was not added for my trouble. This is too much grief over a fast food meal and needless to say, I won't be returning to Sarku. As soon I as see my credit card credited, I'll uninstall the app and go back to Panda Express. read more

This place is really good!!! We went to the mall on Saturday and they were giving out samples of their teriyaki chicken and they seriously sold us , I have 4 kids and they can be pretty picky and they loved their chicken. We had already eaten but we decided to get a bento box! I wish I would have taken a picture but it's the best option because you get a little bit of everything. I just loved how they are not afraid to give out samples , pretty decent pieces. My kids from be samples they wanted more. They are the only ones at the mall doing samples. The bento box has sushi rolls , California rollls , gyoza pieces , chicken with rice and vegetables. It was definitely worth it and will be coming back for more food! Hi, went with my parents to this location at Del Amo food court it was delicious we got a sample before we got the order delicious loved the meat! I got shrimp&beef with white rice, noddles and veggies yummy! And egg rolls. Seems like so many people had bad experiences with the location but for me right now, I had a wonderful experience and it wasn't too busy at the time. My experience at Sarku Japan restaurant was cool. I think the prices for the sushi are not that expensive. It's like around 10.75 but I don't think that is bad. The cashier had good service assisting me as well. The environment of the restaurant seemed awesome. read more
