Found myself doing a little shopping here in Del Amo Mall looking for some Tommy Bohama cologne among a few other things. When the appetite geared up, I happen to walk past the food court and Sarku Japan caught my attention, and by extension my taste buds. Proceeded to order the chicken teriyaki plate with extra chicken to go with it. With some don't realize is that if you have any appetite at all and have any size to you, you are going to have to get the extra chicken or beef by sheer default, and I happen to think they know that. Lol I was curious to see how this location stacked up to the mall I'm closest to in Fox Hills, Culver city. The food at both locations are good, and this was solid as far as taste and quality goes. I'd even go so far as to say that when they got through adding their extra portion to the plate, it seemed at least 10 to 15% more chicken than the location in Fox Hills, Culver City. And while the line took quite a bit long considering there weren't that many orders ahead of me, it was a solid outing. I'd recommend this location in their food court here in Del amo.

    VONS SUSHI TO COMPARE WITH

My sushi roll earns 5 stars from me. Everything about the experience felt sufficient to good, and the quality exceeded my expectations but it's a mall so my experience was a very solid 4 stars. Sushi and Japanese food cover a wide range, and within the fast-casual sushi category, this place holds its own. They assemble the rolls right in front of you, which makes a difference. The rice, sauces, and ingredients taste fresher because everything is made to order. The pricing is also hard to beat. I got the Red Bull roll. The selection is limited to six rolls, with three being slightly more specialty options, but it works for what it is. There's no real ambiance since it's in a busy mall food court and you bus your own table. Even with Mitsuwa nearby, this is still a strong, convenient option. I may check out Mitsuwa next time and compare. Honestly, none of these bigger thoughts were on my mind when I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon looking for something quick and relatively healthier during a shopping trip. It fit the bill perfectly. In a food court full of fried and heavier options, having fresh sushi available is a great alternative. For comparison, I also had Vons sushi two days later and attached a photo (clearly labeled) just for reference. I'm impressed by the workers such a demanding a fast paced job and they handled it well.

The restaurant is located within the mall, so expect the sorroundings to be filled with people and a lot of restaurants nearby. The ambiance was quite pleasant and I enjoyed waiting for my order while watching the food being made in front of me. Sarku Japan has very kind staff who were willing to help at any point during the order. I have no complaints about the service since the experiance of watching the chicken teriyaki bowl being made was a very interesting experiance. The meal was cooked exceedingly, the chicken just wasn't as flavorful as expected. But however, I had a fun time trying it for the first time and I loved the way they cooked the rice. Thank you for the service and food!

I came here to get some sushi for a quick lunch. It was a little busy with all the orders, but service was good. I got the Salmon Avocado Roll, which came in eight rolls. It was good, nothing spectacular though.

I was craving sushi and I decide to come here because it was close to my job. I ordered a rock and roll and Bull roll. Service was quick and staff was very friendly. The rating was strictly based on the food. The rock and roll was delicious- the bull roll I could have done without. The chunk of the imitation crab leg was too much, very overpowering.

Very friendly service!!! I was given a sample of the chicken and it was soooo good!! So we decided to order two plates. The chicken, shrimp, noodles and veggies 7/10 It just needed more flavor!! We also got the beef and chicken plate with rice and veggies and did not like the beef. 4/10 for that one, not sure if it wasn't cooked right or if it was just fat but it was not appetizing My daughter got the rainbow sushi and those were okay. I got the California rolls and they okay too, 6/10 Veggie spring rolls 2/10, the veggies inside the spring rolls were sour. I've never had a spring roll where the veggies in there are sour. I just decided not to eat them. Giving it 3 stars because the service was great and really friendly which is actually the only reason why I decided to get something from here aside from tasting the chicken and it tasting great!!

Super busy Saturday at lunch, so it's a very popular place. I ordered on the app and got $5 off my first order. Had to tell them at the counter that I had an online order because no one else had one and I was afraid they didn't have my order. It took a few minutes past my estimated time to get my food. The food is fresh and very tasty. The chicken was a bit too tough for my toddler to eat, but she liked the noodles and shrimp and California rolls. The food is quite salty, so probably best for an occasional treat.

Wanted a substitute from Yoshinoya, since I was in the mood for some teriyaki minus the rice. This place did not dissapoint. This is a fast food dining place located in the Del Amo Mall. If I closed my eyes, I swear I would be eating at a fine Japanese restaurant. Yeah, that good. Fresh and delicious that hits the spot. I recommend because the food is delicious and inexpensive.

Scam promotion to bring in foot traffic? OR App was overwhelmed?

One of our favorite stops at Del Amo mall. There was a BOGO deal today. Dozens of people came for the deal. But this location would not honor it, saying that it was only available through the app. Unfortunately, the app was not working for everyone. Wasted people's lunch time. I think the app was overwhelmed because it appears to be a national promotion. Others called it a scam to bring in foot traffic. Many customers left ANGRY and vowed to boycott Sarku.

Somehow Sarku Japan always hits the spot! I go back and forth from the chicken teriyaki plate and the shrimp plate. They're both equally as good! The cashiers are always in a rush to get your order, however I kind of expect that when they have an extremely long line. The chicken is really juicy and the teriyaki is a little sweet but nothing too absurd. The rice and veggies are just right! If you're in the food court and don't know what to order? Stop by here and try it out.

I'm back and happy to say this place is still bomb! And I have perfected what and how to order to achieve the optimum flavor and meal. You know how in Starbucks everybody has their own twist of what they order well, I always feel left out because I have no idea about the particulars of one palm, whole milk, and all that other modifications. well, this is my Starbucks and I have to go to guy that knows, exactly the modifications, and want to order for an amazing meal: Chicken teriyaki well done, extra teriyaki sauce, white rice, veggies, AND noodles (its only an additional75 cents) If you don't order like that, you're doing it wrong. You can thank me later.

This was a pleasant new place to have at the Del Amo food court. I truly enjoyed their beef teriyaki, but instead of rice, I got it with noodles and it was a killer difference. It was mixed in with some spices and a bit of peppers coming together for an enjoyable meal. My girlfriend got the bento box with beef teriyaki, salad, four pieces of sushi, and three gyoza dumplings. She also got some egg rolls to bring it all together. They have a sign that lights up your number but if someone is in the way, you'll never see it if you're not paying attention.

I am disappointed in myself for waiting this long to try Ueno Sushi. I've been driving by this location on Carson st for 10 years. It used to be something else (Thai maybe?) before it was a sushi restaurant. I think it was something else before that. I never went here because I thought the food would be mediocre given the history of changes but I was so wrong. SO WRONG! I came here on a Friday night for a party of 1 and while the restaurant was full and many customers were coming in for their reservations, I did not have to wait. The Sashimi Combo 10pc was surprisingly generous. Every single piece of sashimi was huge. I honestly thought they forgot to cut each piece in half lol. It also comes with a bowl of rice, salad, and miso soup. I finished the night with blue fin toro sushi. For those who might find themselves confused like me, this is labeled Sushi on the menu, but it is better labeled as nigiri -- the sashimi on a small ball of rice. It comes with two pieces and the tuna was HUGE. I almost couldn't see the rice! I was blown away by what I was getting but it makes sense given the price I was paying. I was so happy. Overall, great food, wonderful portion sizes. Downside is the pricing but it matches what you're getting. The biggest downside is the parking. It is a small parking lot so you may have to get street parking. Other than that, I'm coming back.

What would have made this a top notch experience would be once of those semi-private booths with the lower seating that some places have, but this felt like some places we've been to in Japan as well. The only thing I didn't love was that I spent around $400 here (LOL), but we all had a great time so that was fine. Food-wise, we tried the following - Gobo Chips - a friend recommended these to us. He said eating these when drinking will prevent hangovers, headaches, any negative effects, etc. I thought it was cap, but all that beer and sake, I felt great the rest of the evening and morning despite just a few hours of sleep. Large serving of these chips, nicely seasoned, thin sliced, great texture. Even my daughter enjoyed these. Uni & US Wagyu Beef Sashimi - how decadent! Very flavorful. A bit too much sauce for me, but otherwise good. Salmon Truffle Carpaccio - this was one of my fave small plates. Fresh sashimi with ikura. YUM!! Chicken & Green Onion Skewers - Pretty good chicken. My daughter even ate the onions without realizing. Amazing. Chicken Karaage - the daughter's favorite! Goes very well with the beer too. Assorted Tempura - nice assortment of shrimp and veggies, with the tempura dipping sauce. Ribeye Ponzu Steak - beautifully cooked and flavorful. We started with the above, and the food came at various times, but the waits weren't long so we appreciated that. We were still hungry, so we ordered some more stuff - Premium Sashimi - min of 2 orders so we did that. It was good, but I expected a lot more for premium sashimi. It looked more of a single portion, but beautifully presented. Chazuke - we got some for us all - both salmon and mentaiko. Best dish to end a meal at an izakaya. Warm dashi with the riceball in there, seaweed, topped with either the salmon or mentaiko. Subtle flavors, but really delicious. We then looked at a dessert menu and decided to go elsewhere for some sweets. Would def come back to try their pressed sushi, and if we weren't all picky eaters, we'd try their set meal as well.
