    Salmon teriyaki
    N D.

This is actually pretty bad. This is my second or third time trying this place. The rice is not even good which is an issue. The salmon is clearly pre-cooked and marked on the grill. (Actually seems like they are taking pre-cooked salmon and microwaving it and then marking it on the grill.) My eating buddy commented "it doesn't even taste like salmon". I mean it's bad. I want to give an extra star for cute holiday decorations, but I really want to tell people to go to much better places close by that are still convenient for takeout. EDIT: Added a star. Although the food was bad the place was clean, the server was super nice and it was decorated cute for a holiday. I don't think I'd get sick eating there.

I've had such great customer service here every time I walk in. Im greeted by cheerful employees and appreciate their pleasing attitude. Today (11/5 @ 2pm) was no exception. The woman wearing glasses with black hair in a bun was so friendly and always is. Very efficient with placing the order and accuracy. She was keeping the tables clean and tidy. One customer sat at a table she had just cleaned so it was a bit moist but she was so kind to go back and dry it completely for him. Thats attention to detail and I hope she gets recognized for that. The food in my opinion is a great value for the price point point. I enjoy the simplicity of the menu and healthy options.

I love a chicken bowl. These chicken bowls are delicious. The chicken is grilled just right. It's mostly thigh meat, which I love, so you know it's juicy, not dried out chicken breast. Perfect amount of chicken, rice & veggies. The veggies are zucchini, cabbage, broccoli onions & shredded carrots. I like to get the bowl 4 pack for $40. Great deal! It comes with 2 chicken teriyaki bowls, 1 spicy chicken bowl and 1 orange chicken bowl. No changes. No substitutions. Satisfies my whole family. We each get what we like. I am not a fan of orange chicken. It's usually too saucy, sweet and too much breading. Not the case here. It is sooo good. My hubby is the orange chicken fan and I will steal a bite or two from his bowl. Yummo! The spicy chicken isn't too spicy. Has a nice kick my son enjoys. We usually order on the app and get it To Go. Whether you eat in or take it home, it's a great meal deal for the family and usually enough for leftovers the next day.

Forgot to take a solo pic of the edamame and the Chicken Teriyaki Bowl. This is what is left of the edamame and half of the bowl.

First time here and it was a real nice experience. Lots of eateries along this new area with ample parking. Everything is a bowl and you select your protein. With the bowl you get your choice of white or brown or fried rice or noodles for an extra charge. There are several proteins to select from too. Bowls come in junior, regular or large. The most popular proteins are teriyaki or spicy teriyaki. You can almost make the bowl a combo with a fountain drink and your choice of a chicken egg roll, edamame, cookie or brownie. The restaurant has seating inside as well as outside. It's very clean. The meal was hot and fresh. They have a rewards program as well. Definitely recommending this place to everyone. Thank you. Ok, bye.

Nasty long strand of hair covered in sauce. It was buried in the rice. Disgusting!

I seldom leave terrible reviews, but this place is an absolute huge miss. Ordered the spicy teriyaki chicken bowl and the chicken was tough, absolutely dry, and burned. No juicy pieces whatsoever. Sauce was salty and heavy on the soy sauce. But what tops it off is the fact that a long, dark strand of hair was buried in the rice, covered in sauce and all. Who knows how it got there, but it's absolutely disgusting that there's a lack of sanitary food handling. Do yourself a favor and skip this Teriyaki Sadness of a place and get real, better teriyaki chicken elsewhere. Rascal's or Pitburger are waaaay better options.

Chicken Teriyaki Junior Bowl + Chicken Katsu Junior Bowl

I finally got to check out the new Teriyaki Madness in Torrance, and it did not disappoint! This restaurant is located in the same plaza as Marugame Udon, Board and Brew, and Pho Hue Oi. It's definitely nice to see another new spot open up here. At Teriyaki Madness, they offer a build-your-own bowl concept with three sizes: Junior (starting at $10.59), Regular ($11.99), and Large ($13.99). You can customize your bowl with options like Chicken Teriyaki, Chicken Breast Teriyaki, Spicy Chicken Teriyaki, Orange Chicken, Steak Teriyaki, Teriyaki Salmon, Chicken Katsu, or Spicy Tofu Teriyaki. For the base, you can choose from brown rice, white rice, fried rice, or yakisoba noodles (with a $1 upcharge for the noodles or fried rice). I went with a Junior Bowl with fried rice and chicken katsu, and it was totally worth it. The portion of rice was generous -- honestly enough for two meals! The chicken katsu was crispy and flavorful, and the fried rice had a nice savory kick. If you're in the area and craving some customizable teriyaki, definitely give it a try. I'll be back to sample some of the other protein options!

The service was top notch. The portions are good, we shared a large size teriyaki chicken with yakisoba noodles and vegetables and it was enough for 2 to share. Parking was easy.

Abnormally large portion. First time here and decided to try the steak teriyaki bowl ($16.19) with fried rice (+$1 extra), and made it into a combo ($3.79). For the combo, you have a choice of edamame, cookie, marshmallow bar, or chicken egg roll, and you get a medium or large fountain drink. $3.79 for medium combo and $4.39 for large combo. With 15% tip, I paid little over $26. Their large steak teriyaki bowl is super large for $16. The bowl diameter is about 12", and it's like 2-3 inches deep. and the food was packed to the top. Probably like 3000 calories worth of food for $16. I was mind blown regarding the portion size. The fried rice is a must upgrade for $1 more, worth every penny. Everything tastes good. The bowl and the food give me the Panda Express vibe but better quality. This location is new, interior is also new and everything is clean and modern looking. There's seatings indoor and outdoor. Parking is plentiful but might get packed because it's in the same area where Marugame Udon is. The cashier lady, Philona (?), (sorry if I butchered the name), was very nice and hospitable. Very friendly and even informed me of how long the food was going to take because they grilled the steak to order. Her politeness does make me want to come back, she's very welcoming. I would recommend eating here. Portion size is huge. For the business, could probably shrink it and keep the same price and it would still be a good price.

After debating for weeks to try this place I finally did. Ordered a regular spicy chicken bowl. The chicken was surprisingly flavorful and spicy. Rice was hot and a little overcooked. The veggie mix was ok however slightly overcooked as well. Their system was down and only accepted cash which was frustrating. Lastly the front staff was unable to answer simple questions related to their menu. Overall it was good and I would suggest giving it a try.

Our usual not-so-usual go-to for Chinese in the South Bay had been Seashore at Calle Mayor and PCH but I remembered the food being somewhat bland on the last visit several months back. We have also enjoyed Lunasia (for Dim Sum) and Ruiji farther east on PCH but it has been a long time (at least for Ruiji) and the reviews and pictures for Lotus looked really good. I also liked the All-Day Happy Hour! $3 house wines, beer and hot sake as well as the complimentary (and delicious) garlic noodles with $50 purchase ($11.95 value). We ordered the Crispy Crabmeat Cream Cheese Wontons ($10), Spicy Orange Crispy Chicken ($21.95), Kung Pao Chicken ($21.95), Sweet and Sour Pork ($20.95), Beef with Broccoli ($20.95), Mongolian Beef ($21.95) and Crispy Honey Shrimp ($25.95). Yeah, the prices, I know, but again the All-Day Happy Hour and the free noods! The food was a hit...everything was great, fresh ingredients, packed with flavor. The Crispy Chicken wasn't spicy so don't worry if that's not your jam...the Mongolian Beef was probably my favorite and the crispy honey shrimp was lightly fried "to perfection". I hate that phrase but it is appropriate here, truly. Service was excellent. The food came out very quickly and our server was fantastic. It was my 87 year old Mom's birthday and they brought out a cheesecake and candle for her too. We did have tons of left-overs so it will go a longer way which helps with the cost. HIGHLY RECOMMEND; they've definitely earned the top Chinese spot for me.

In short, I upped my rating and we'll be back in less than 2 years.

The first time I ate here, it took maybe 20-25 minutes for me to get my food. This time, I had my food in around 10 minutes. I was very impressed with this big decrease in wait time. This time I tried the new Hokkaido cream pasta, which tasted super fresh and made to order. The cream was warm and rich without feeling over the top like some other cream-based pasta sauces from Italian/American places. I liked the addition of spinach and mushrooms as well. The restaurant is in a food court with a few other options, and a decent amount of seating. It's also inside of a grocery store, so if you're with a picky group, everyone could theoretically order something different and eat together. I remember I was a little put off by the anime branding of the restaurant at first (it seemed a little childish to me) but Pasta Stories is really a solid wafu pasta place, and I love that they focus on different regional flavors of Japan. Prices are very affordable as well, with most pastas being around $15 and under.

I personally have tried the following: Hokkaido Cream Pasta (newest addition as of late) Fukuoka Mentaiko Butter Pasta Kyoto Matcha Cream Pasta (one of my favorite dishes here - pair with salmon for a strong, umami flavor profile) Iwate Triple Mushroom Pasta Okinawa Pork Ragu Spaghetti (THE number 1 pick, however was not on the menu when I visited last) Osaka American Wagyu Meat Sauce There is a strong attention to Japanese flavors fusing with traditional Italian pasta dishes and are all made with love and care. I always recommend this place to friends and family, I can't get enough of it!

The chicken katsu was a bit disappointing though. The chicken was pounded paper thin and the panko crust, although it was crispy and not too oily, separated from the chicken. The sides were pretty average. I heard they also have live music on the weekends and evenings, which is great in their spacious dining area.
