This is my personal favorite option in the food court! It's basically affordable quick teppanyaki. There are many meat options to choose from, and all range from $10-13. It comes with rice (fried or white), veggies, and your meat choice. My personal favorite is the beef and shrimp option! It's incredibly quick considering they cook it right there in front of you. Everyone is nice and ambiance is what you make of it considering it's in a food court. I personally believe this is the best price to quality ratio option in the food court. I've been going to it for 10+ years now! I'm somewhat surprised the ratings are not very high on yelp. It's cheaper than chipotle, but is fresher and cheaper. Now they just over seasoning to salty amounts so you can taste how old the chicken is. It's been my last two experiences there. This old chewy chicken is last straw for me. A teriyaki joint in the largest mall of the PNW. I was looking for the longest line at the Southcenter Mall food court since I hadn't eaten in this part of the mall in a while. Everyone was flocking to this spot. I had never eaten here before, not even during my high school days. I decided to give it a try. The menu had a reasonable amount of options. Line cooks were holding it down and keeping pace with the cashier ringing people up. I ordered the Teriyaki with Shrimp. Don't forget to grab your utensils from the cashier after you pay. They don't have any at the end of the station. It was pretty good for fast food (don't expect gourmet) and it was at a good price point too. The entree was really 2 meals in one and shareable. I think people like that it's made to order too and not sitting under a heat lamp. It's true what everyone has said: Pass on the eggrolls. Southcenter Mall went through a multimillion-dollar expansion so the food court looks way different now. Taco Time didn't come back though. Boo :( It has more restaurants and is more spacious but finding an open table is still hard to find on the weekends. Yummy yummy chicken! (Iykyk) We've loved this spot for decades - even before the mall's expansion. Servers are straight to the point, so don't expect a Trader Joe's-style exchange with the cashier or cooks. But during the lunch rush or dinner hours, that line can get long so they know how to keep it moving. We have to applaud the quality of their food. 20+ years later and it's still just as good. We always order teriyaki chicken with extra chicken. If you want extra sauce, grab one of plastic cups on top of the counter. Not very accommodating for customers with special requests. I asked for more vegetable and less meat for the same price. Denied request. So i ordered rice with vegetable. We all got extra sauce this time and boy i wish i didnt. Everyone loved how well cooked the chicken was. The sauce adds flavor BUT to me, its filled with grease. They barely give you any shrimp as well. Plus theyre tiny. You get more chicken teriyaki at a lower price versus a small portion of shrimp at a higher price. Overall, I will never come back. It's really a rare moment where I am the one raising the stars and going against the popular vote on a place, but here I am giving 4 stars to the current 3 star rating. This is primarily based on their "World Famous Chicken" while it is quite tender, hot, and juicy, that "World Famous" is a bit of overmarketing, but hey, I'm still down for it. Why? Because it is always hot and juicy, always consistent. I don't do the rice, I always add noodles for .60 extra. It is truly the perfect lunch meal and value for $9.32 total. People who complain about the service? Lol. This is a high volume, high demand place, where there is always a line. They need to move you through so they can get to everyone. Personally, I hate it when there is a line and every person in front of me is talking to the cashier, doing the how is your day bs. Get the order, pay, get out! We're not here for fine dining! I want my food hot, tasty, and fast! I take quality/speed of product over "Hi how is your day going?" ANYDAY!!! People who complain about the no nonsense cashier attitude......smh. Sarku is one of the more dependable fast food joints in the mall. It always has a line for a reason. Everything is made in front of you and you can customize what you want (like fried rice instead of regular rice). The line moves pretty fast and the portions are humongous. The last few times I went, I shared my food with who I was with since they pack it tight. The egg rolls are so-so. They're known for their teriyaki so you can go wrong with that. Tip: you can get a stamp card no one tells you about. Ask for the stamp card and you can get a free meal when you get 10 stamps. read more

Come here all the time but their portions are not consistent. Some of the chefs give a fair amount of meat but some give you a few pieces. They need to find a way to give everyone the same share of what they're paying for. Nonetheless, the good is good on some days but it is a hit or miss. Used to always eat here when I was a kid in the Northgate mall. Stumbled upon it again as an adult many years later and must say brings back memories! The portion size is still huge and incredible! No MSG but the meat tastes incredible! I will say the vegetable part was a little wimpy and a bit lackluster than I remembered it before as a child so docking some stars for that. This was my first time eating here, the food looked to have a nice portion size, I had the Teriyaki Chicken with Vegetables and what rice. The problem started with, when I was stepping up to order, the cashier woman, had no customer service, very dry, no how you doing today, she gave me back some change and I think, the receipt, buttt, did not say, listen for your order, so, when, I saw what looks to be my order, one of the guys who was making the food, who did not have good customer service also, was yelling out the order number, and I was like, I dont know what order number I have and he was like, this is yours, but the way, he also was saying it, like hurry up, pick the order up and leave. instead of what is your order number, it is on the receipt, ohhh, ok, such and such number, I would have gotten the food and end of story.
