Made a nice order from this place upon a neighbor recommendation. Large pie with pepperoni and ham, eight pieces of white meat chicken, fries, and garlic knots. The pizza had good crust and flat. Sauce was good and everyone did like it. We would go back just for the pizza. Now the chicken . I think it takes a certain talent to make good fried chicken. This place fits the bill. This place is located at a Shell gas station. I wasn't too sure about trying it , but my sis in law swore that they have the best chicken. She's absolutely right. I eat fried chicken a lot and this was the best that I've had. They have some already fried under a heat lamp, but they fried mine when I ordered it. It was super crispy and totally juicy on the inside. The biscuit is also top notch. It has a crispy honey coating on the top and the inside is fluffy. I got the three piece (two whole wings and a breast) plus biscuit $7.99. The prices are so reasonable. They also sell pizza and subs. We got a turkey sub $9.99 and it was good, not earth shattering like the fried chicken though. They also had baklava $3 near the register that I had to try. It was delicious. I first tried Saroki's at the Shell gas station in Royal Oak many years ago. It was some of the best fried chicken I had in the metro area. Then I saw Saroki's was branching out very quickly to other areas, and I knew that the quality would decline. Not only that, but the prices have gone up and it's no longer worth it. These are gourmet prices for fried chicken from a gas station. The food should be much cheaper. This Saroki's in Taylor, also located in a Shell gas station, serves dry and overly salted chicken, catfish, and fries. I wanted to order corn but saw that everything is fried here, even the vegetables. The fried corn is very salty and not even crispy. What is the point of making a vegetable unhealthy if it isn't crispy? Saroki's has become a huge disappointment. I haven't been to the Royal Oak location in over three years, but I may return to see if the quality there has declined too. What a shame. This is what happens when business owners get greedy or forsake quality for profits and quick expansion. read more

When Saroki's first opened; I loved it! The biscuits w the honey butter were out of this world. The shocked tenders were a chefs kiss; which surprised me. The last 3 times I've been; totally different story. Chicken was dry, forgot the honey butter all 3 times, and the staff just didn't seem to have a care in the world. Which I get since the pay isn't great. It is a beautiful establishment and SUPER clean. Maybe I'm just catching it at the busy time and the quality is lower? I still suggest trying them out. We visited this place on the recommendation of my husband's co-workers at DTW. They say it is so good, they bypass other places just to get food there. The fish (which had a kick of spice which I love, was NOT dry & overcooked like most places) was delicious. The biscuit was soft & had a delicious honey butter in top. Surprisingly the flavor remained good after it was cold as well; I know this because I ate half the piece of fish & half the biscuit & saved the rest for later because I could t wait to get into the Stromboli. I happen to believe the best meals are better when they are left over. I also had a spinach & tomato calzone that was amazing. I saved half of it until later & prefer it hot but it was still good. The service was prompt and friendly. Also the business itself was clean, neat and orderly. The workers had on clean uniforms and were groomed well (I notice these things; I do t want someone with dirty hands & a dirty uniform serving me or preparing my food. Love their chicken but lately it has been too salty. I have been recommending this place to everyone but the feed back is, it was too salty for me. Plz cut down on the salt the chicken is fresh and tasty. Someone ordered some for a party I just went to. I was so glad to see that they got the chicken from there, but some of the guests was saying it was too salty for them to even eat. I don't know if it's like this at all locations, but it's the best chicken around if you can control the saltiness of it. And the customer service is very good, and can't really talk about the ambience because it's in a gas station. read more

I had New York style pepperoni pizza, 4 piece mixed meat chicken, coleslaw delivered. The New York style was legit. Huge slices, pepperoni I probably would add a second topping but cheese was generous. They delivered faster than the estimated time by 30 minutes. The driver was friendly and accommodating. The chicken was crispy. This will be my preferred chicken place from now on. The Cole slaw was acceptable. I wrapped pizza and chicken up for leftovers. They tasted great the next day. One slice is enough for a meal. I'm not sure what the ambiance of the restaurant is. I'll check it out when I have time to eat out. read more
