    Baked Spaghetti

We tried the pasta and spaghetti and Alfredo pasta dishes. Both were extremely dry and needed more sauce (see attached picture). We've eaten here before and had a better experience. Hopefully someone that has the ability to change will read this review and consider making modifications. Chicken Alfredo

We cater in Sarpino's pizzas for parties we host at my second job. I've eaten a lot of it over the past three years and like most things you are around daily you start to take it for granted. Their one topping pizzas are good, but where I really think they really shine is their specialty pizzas. Today I had to run back and forth between my job and their location to take care of a minor glitch. When I took their pizza bags back after my shift I started thinking about how much I liked their chicken bacon and ranch pizza...so I ordered one to take home. Call it a late lunch. The first picture was taken in my car while it was still hot. My drive isn't far, but we all know the appearance of food can change in a few minutes after a commute. The pizza was as good as I remembered it being. I think the majority of their business is delivery and carry out, but they do have several booths and tables in house. I forgot to grab my receipt, but I think their prices are comparable to other places (Pizza Hut, Casey's, etc.). Open 365 days a year. Open all holidays. Open late...200 AM and 300 AM depending on the day. Free delivery. As I said before I deal with Sarpino's at work so my relationship with them is a little more than just as a casual diner. Sometimes we have bumps. Our orders with them are very time sensitive because we use them to feed our guests as we don't have the capabilty to cook on site... That being said... You know how they say you shouldn't judge a person's character by when they fall. The true measure of a person's character is how they get back up and move forward after the fall. Their pizza is very good, but their owners and management team are stellar. Their drivers are courteous and professional. On the rare occasion when we have a problem they bend over backwards to make things right. I'm grateful we are able to partner with them. If you haven't ever checked their menu out... Maybe think about it the next time you decide to order in and you want to try something different. Actual date of visit: 07/30/2017

My partner and I got this at 10:30 pm and it was so good! Loved the pizza and the wings! The pizza reminds us both of Pizza Hut back in the day when it was really good just without the Pizza Hut seasoning on the crust! We're definitely coming back

Too expensive. Also they burnt my order a couple years ago and I left a review about it and the owner called me a liar.

Their Gyros and sandwiches are top notch! Great for a late night nosh!! We prefer the Gyro on Pita bread rather than the Calzone.

There were only 3 gals working the entire time taking care of cooking and bartending and waiting on everyone in the estaishment. Definitely efficient and friendly staff. We ordered drinks and breakfast. Both were quickly served. My breakfast burger was delicious with layers ofhashbriwns and eggs and bacon and a burger. The diced potatoes were also great. My partner had the meat lovers omlette and was very happy with the entire meal. My only complaint is the price of the state fair lemonade (vodka lemonade) was 8.50$ which a typical vodka lemonade or cranberry is 6$. However it was delicious and the prices in this area are just typically higher than other areas so I do understand. I'd definitely go back again for food & drinks!

We stopped for their Tuesday night Burger Special...which left me wondering why we weren't going there every Tuesday night for burgers! I ordered a Burger (of course - see picture) and was thoroughly impressed with it! Usually when you ask for a medium rare burger, it is brought out medium well to well done. Not only was the burger excellent (a little beyond medium rare, but at least some heavy pink in the middle), but the bun and the lattice fry sides were all delicious! Unfortunately, I gave up alcohol for Lent...so didn't have a beer with the burger - but you can bet that I'll be back for both after Easter! Located in a…read morestrip mall at the corner of Grand and EP True (by the HyVee), the decor is nothing special but it was light and bright inside. We were greeted and asked if we were dining in (it appears they do a brisk takeout business) and were told to sit where we wanted. It was surprisingly crowded for a Sunday afternoon at 4 pm. The menu is extensive and hubby and I both like Mediterranean food. I chose the Falafel plate, served with five falafel balls, hummus, a pita, and Greek salad. The portion was generous (ended up taking two falafel home). Served with tahini and their house green sauce (olive oil, cilantro, and jalapeño) It wasn't spicy but it was so delicious - I could get addicted to this thinking of all the other ways so could enjoy it!! The Greek salad was served with house dressing - garlic and yogurt, also very good. The falafel was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, and flavorful. The hummus was not at all grainy - smooth but just a tad bland. Hubby had the lamb skewers and liked them very much. Served with rice, salad, and hummus. He also took one of the skewers home. We both had the mango Fresca juice. A bit too sweet for me but I generally drink unsweetened beverages. Hubby liked it a lot. Service was friendly and we were checked on twice to ask how we liked our food. Generous portions, friendly service, good food, but not inexpensive (with tip, $55 for two) but what is inexpensive these days?? We enjoyed reading the story of the couple who started this restaurant, and I'm glad we finally had a chance to try it?

It's not always easy to see. it's near the Hy-vee right by the Planet Fitness in West Des Moines. It's also about expectations, everyone is under staffed, so I always appreciate the service staff who are working. The parking is easy and plentiful. The restaurant was clean. Everything was authentic, scratch-made dishes like kabobs, wraps, and hummus, they make their own Pita bread too! Its spacious, lots of tables and was very casual when I was there for lunch and I observed a very family-friendly atmosphere. The service was fast and efficient and they and they special packed it exactly how I wanted it. A Latina woman of a certain age was the server manager and she just went out of her way to make sure I got everything the way I wanted. She made great suggestions on packing because I told her I was probably gonna take some home so she separated things out for me like I wanted. I'd heard that the portions were huge and they certainly were. I got the #10 Gyros Mix which included a generous portion of gyros (Tender strips of lamb and ground steak gyro,) a skewer of U.S.D.A. Choice steak kabob, , a chicken Kabob, which i would call their version of Chicken Souvlaki (which means "little skewers" and refers to small, marinated, grilled pieces of chicken often served on skewers at traditional Greek restaurants) each platter also includes fresh made hummus with olive oil, *Mediterranean seasoned yellow rice, and a small salad topped with our house garlic lemon dressing, homemade pita bread and a green jalapeno sauce. Which was an interesting twist to Greek food. Usually its just Greek sauce is Tzatziki (pronounced "tsah-dzee-kee"), a cool, creamy dip or sauce made from strained yogurt, grated cucumber, garlic, olive oil, and herbs like dill or mint, I asked for it to be packed to go even though I was eating in too. and she did an outstanding job of separating the cold salad and hummus from the rice and hot entries. The food was good and solid hot and delicious and the portions were really generous. They also included the traditional sweet white onions with the gyros Its a hidden gem and a wonderful quality restaurant. I will be back. Its owned by Silvestre and Veronica Duran -- who moved to DSM from California about six years ago to be closer to family. They certainly imbued the restaurant with quality food , generous portions in great staff service and attention.

Tonight we started by sharing a Pretzel & Beer Cheese appetizer (see picture). While I don't often order pretzels, this was a great combination of texture (soft / tearable) and flavor (buttery with tasty seasonings) that I really enjoyed! For dinner, my wife ordered Traditional Wings (see picture) while I opted for the Oh No! burger (see picture). While we both enjoyed the wings, sweet potato fries and a side order of tots, we both found the burger to be well done and a bit on the dry side to our tastes.

We were just here a few weeks ago and I am so bummed to see they permanently closed!! We came during lunch and took advantage of their weekday lunch combo (Tues-Fri, 11am-2pm), which includes soup and a half grilled cheese. You can choose from the OG, Kick in the Cheese, or Fancy grilled cheese, plus either tomato basil bisque or the soup of the day. Honestly? A dream setup. I ordered the tomato basil bisque with a half OG grilled cheese, and wow... just wow. The soup was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, and the grilled cheese delivered that classic, beautiful cheese pull moment you hope for (and rarely actually get). The cheese had the perfect amount of sharpness and subtle bitterness, balancing everything out so well without being overwhelming.. I seriously could go for one right now!
