Taking a break from packing to move, so went today for the 1st time for a 10" pizza. Pros: * Very nice flavor. * Not overly saucy, which I prefer, but they did give me a small side of extra sauce, as well as 2 packets... 1 Parmesan cheese, the other red pepper flakes & also enclosed 1 pepperoncino, which was interesting. * I ordered extra cheese & pepperoni & it had PLENTY of both. * A 10" is hearty enough that it's 2 full meals for me. * Very nice staff, friendly & I was offered a 15% discount as it was my first time going, which was a nice touch. Cons: * Price. For a 10" with 2 toppings it was $15 & that was with the 15% discount. Granted, I don't get pizza take out often (I usually make my own from scratch), so that might be par for the course, but I think it's high. * Crust was a bit oily, but that's par for the course with most pizzas, which is why I usually make my own. We cater in Sarpino's pizzas for parties we host at my second job. I've eaten a lot of it over the past three years and like most things you are around daily you start to take it for granted. Their one topping pizzas are good, but where I really think they really shine is their specialty pizzas. Today I had to run back and forth between my job and their location to take care of a minor glitch. When I took their pizza bags back after my shift I started thinking about how much I liked their chicken bacon and ranch pizza...so I ordered one to take home. Call it a late lunch. The first picture was taken in my car while it was still hot. My drive isn't far, but we all know the appearance of food can change in a few minutes after a commute. The pizza was as good as I remembered it being. I think the majority of their business is delivery and carry out, but they do have several booths and tables in house. I forgot to grab my receipt, but I think their prices are comparable to other places (Pizza Hut, Casey's, etc.). Open 365 days a year. Open all holidays. Open late...200 AM and 300 AM depending on the day. Free delivery. As I said before I deal with Sarpino's at work so my relationship with them is a little more than just as a casual diner. Sometimes we have bumps. Our orders with them are very time sensitive because we use them to feed our guests as we don't have the capabilty to cook on site... That being said... You know how they say you shouldn't judge a person's character by when they fall. The true measure of a person's character is how they get back up and move forward after the fall. Their pizza is very good, but their owners and management team are stellar. Their drivers are courteous and professional. On the rare occasion when we have a problem they bend over backwards to make things right. I'm grateful we are able to partner with them. If you haven't ever checked their menu out... This is such a great option for late night pizza. The cheese is always nice and gooey and the crust is always spit on for me. Pizza is the only thing I would get here though. The way I always do it is just order for pickup and drive up and grab. Pretty much no service required which seems thr easy to do it since late at night understandably the staff is pretty lax. We have ordered Sarpino's a handful of times and the food is pretty consistent. The delivery time is generally faster than what is originally quoted. Pizzas are good. I ordered pasta today for the first time, it was a little dry. I also ordered tiramisu for the first time as well, it was ok but I doubt that I would spend the money on it again. I am excited to try the calzones next. They do offer coupons and if you don't like them, they have a 15% off coupon. I got a $10 birthday coupon too. And they always have free delivery. read more

Sarpino's is my new favorite delivery pizza in the West Des Moines area. This pizza spot absolutely have the best wings you can have delivered to your door, their delivery time isn't bad at all, and their pizza is bomb. I actually can't eat the crust, so I can't comment on that right now, but the toppings of their pizza are SO YUMMY so I can only imagine how good it is all together. I always order pepperoni/ham and hot wings, and something crazy is going to have to happen to make me change pizza spots. read more

Sarpino's is our go-to place for pizza. Primarily because you can order a custom pizza on-line and get 15% off the price for doing so (look for it). They also constantly have store specials that are a good deal. We were on a first name basis with the previous owners, but they sold it to a local couple not too long ago. I initially wasn't happy with the conversion due to some changes they made. The new owner quickly contacted me to help with my issues and to assure me it was going to be better. Great customer service. He was right. It is a lot better. The ingredients are fresher, the service is better, and most importantly the consistency of their pizza is much improved. I've not been disappointed with any orders we've made there recently. Their delivery is fast but I usually go pick it up in less than 30 minutes from ordering. Easy. This place beats the heck out of the chain competition and for only a couple of bucks more (and sometimes less). Worst Sarpino's experience ever. Buffalo Chicken Ranch pizza had no banana peppers, the four baklava orders were all dry and missing the honey, the Greek salads had no olives and had the wrong dressings. Every item was messed up. Probably won't ever risk ordering from them again. read more

This pizza place is not bad at all. I actually kind of like it for a delivery place. I would say Dominos is a bit better, but this place has more crazy options. They got like 30+ options to choose from and every once in a while, I like to be adventurous. I ordered their special which was two 12" gourmet pizzas for $21. One was Saprino's Cheese Bonanza, and another called Midnight Express which was spicy and had various meats. Both were actually bigger than I thought. The flavors on both were pretty decent and unique, but nothing jumped out at me or made me say this is darn good pizza. It was more like, this is not bad, I could see myself trying some other flavors next time. Its biggest flaw was the mozzarella cheese. It didn't have that stringy texture, a pop, or much flavor. You are not going to take a bite of this pizza and see the melted cheese oozing down your hand. It's more like you take a bite, a solid piece with all the topping off the top will want to come off because it's become one solid piece. So overall, I would like to try their chicken wings, and I wouldn't mind trying some of their other flavors. But I don't think I would get an itch to order some pizza from them anytime soon. read more

Not sure what the deal was at this establishment, but we orderd 3 pizzas and a catering salad for our company lunch. The pizza arrived with salad about 40 minutes after order was placed which is fine. When I opened all 3 pizza boxes all 3 pizzas were burnt. We ordered a large specialty, the New York Deli Pizza and it looked NOTHING like it did on their website, plus it was burnt. Called and talked to manager. They did send over 3 new pizzas, but the 3rd one was still a little burnt. I say that to say this.. owners of business', be careful who you have working for you because they can and will make your business look bad. Great pizza place near the metro. If it's a nice day I will take the 15ish minute drive to Clive for a fresh Sarpino's pizza. It's a good idea to call ahead since you can jump in the car and it is hot n' ready when you pull up to their Clive location. There are 3 large booths (which to be fair aren't that comfy, but good enough) to enjoy your food on. Sarpino's gets swapped every weekend, but they still work very hard to make everyone satisfied. When I was there last they had only 1 person on the phones and making pizzas, plus 5 delivery drivers. Our pizza maybe took a few minutes longer than normal, but we were given free breadsticks to make up for it. Such a cool thing to do and we will make sure to return. Also, just ask if they have any specials on pizza and they will straight up give you a great discount. No digging for that illusive coupon in your email or in the newspaper. I'm giving them one last chance tonight. 2 orders ago, my husband got the wrong thing. Since it was pasta, he didn't know it was wrong until he dug in. So we kept it. The last time they mixed our order up with someone else's, the driver had to come back to get the order from our house and deliver to the correct house. And pick up our food from them. Both times I filled out the survey they send after an online order and pointed out the mistakes. There was no follow-up. I know this is under new ownership and this new ownership pales in comparison with customer service than the last owners. Yep, My husband got the wrong pasta AGAIN. The box said meat ravioli. When he cut into it with this fork, it was lasagna. I'm a big fan of eating local and tipping nicely for delivery drivers. Today I was treated extremely rudely by staff today at Sarpino's. My order took 1 hour and 25 minutes to arrive, longer than expected - it happens, I get it; however, the delivery driver was rude - he called me for directions and then cut me off mid sentence and told me I needed to stop talking so he could ask me a question. Then the driver had to call me back to ask me what I was trying to tell him in the first place when he cut me off. Then the order was wrong - again, I know it happens. I called the store to let them know I got the wrong order and Ryan (not sure of role) told me it would take another 40 minutes. I explained that I was frustrated about having to wait an additional 40 minutes and he told me I could request a refund from the manager. I told him I wasn't looking for a refund, just surprised that it would take another 40 minutes after already waiting so long for my first order. He kept saying it takes 25 minutes to get to my location (it's more like 15 on a busy traffic day) and that I should just take the refund. So I said I didn't want a refund and that I guess it's gonna be another 40 minutes. He then said I needed to "stop." Stop what? I can't express my frustration for having to wait more than 2 hours for a pepperoni calzone? He replied with, "no" and then said that I "have no reason to be upset and that I needed to stop." Whatever, Ryan, I talked to Rob, the owner, shortly after the call to you. Either way, I will not eat from Sarpino's again. I won't support a restaurant that treats customers this way. I love this place. They shred fresh mozzarella by hand every day, make the fresh dough, I asked them what they do. They said they do not use any frozen ingredients, what I get is done that day. I just revisited Sarpino's after a few months off. I was tired of getting pizza with little to no sauce, and soggy crust, even though I would order well done. I ordered the thin crust this time: Alfredo sauce instead of marinara, pepperoni, ricotta. It was cooked perfectly. There was a great amount of Alfredo on it. The pepperonis were crispy around the edges, just like the crust. It was hot when I got it. It was on time. The delivery driver was nice. Thank you, Sarpinos, for an awesome pizza and Friday lunch.
