Great spot for Lancaster BLVD. A bit expensive, expect to pay $13 for a single sandwich, which comes with a choice of no heat, mild, hot or sassy af. Hot was perfect for me, not too spicy, but could be too spicy if you're sensitive to some heat. $15 dollars for a sandwich/French fry combo, their French fries are restaurant quality, very elite French fry game as well. An honest review. I came here with my husband and son (16 yr old) before hitting the blvd theater. There was quite a line, so we figured we'd stop in. It appears to be family run with some hired employees in the kitchen. This is a tiny spot, so prepare to grab and go. The interior appears either rushed or they were on a budget, either way it leaves much to be desired. The painting is sloppy and not in a creative sort of manner. As I sat waiting on the food, I realized I hadn't yelped the place before stepping in. The bit of a wait gave me a chance to read what others thought. The three of us laughed as we read through the reviews of those who were either angry or extremely opinionated. I use Yelp, but I do realize you can't take everyone's reviews seriously. Our order number was called about 15-20 minutes after we ordered and this is our review... The chicken, although moist, was extremely too oily. The cooks need to allow the basket to drip instead of serving immediately. Yes, we want it hot, but we don't want it dripping oil all over us. The tots were what you'd expect, so they were fine. I took half of my food home for the next day. I reheated it in my air fryer and there was still too much oil coming off the chicken. This is wasting the company money in both oil and napkins. When it came to the seasoning, you could taste the cajun seasoning, but it definitely lacked salt. I saw someone else mention this, so they might want to tweak their recipe a bit. The mild had the slightest kick to it and the hot snuck up on you. They were for the most part what you'd expect from the heat choices. My son enjoyed the loaded fries, but mentioned the sauce tasted of mayonnaise and relish. He said the sauce could be revamped to complement the loaded fries. I don't particularly like mayonnaise so he didn't have me taste the sauce, but I trust him. If he says it needs work, it probably needs work. As for the price, I believe I spent $27 for the three of us and this is because my husband and I shared. They did give us the drinks which was unexpected as it wasn't stated anywhere on the menu. I did see a yelper complain about canned soda being sold for $2, so maybe management read the Yelp and realized it was better for them to give away the drink with the purchase of a meal. If this is the case, smart of them. These are the things that keep customers coming back. Will we be back? My son says we'll try them again in 6 months. I think he's probably right. This spot serves one of the best spicy chicken sandas ever!!!! And when I say spicy I mean spicy. I would never pay $14 for a sandwich and fries but man this was so worth it. I had to revise my review. I said I would probably only eat there monthly because of price. Well I lied I go weekly and one week I went twice. Whenever they post a picture of that darn huge sandwich I can't resist. The service is still great and while they are now open for inside orders I do mine online. I order well before they open usually between 10 and 11am and my pick up time is always 12:30pm. I get the text and head to get my order. The young man at the door is always the same, he is very nice and my order is brought super quick. The sandwich is huge. It is crispy and juicy. I get no spice (I'm a wimp), extra pickles, slaw to the side. I got extra sauce one time but it made the bottom bun soggy, you get a side of extra sauce for free, so now I use that for dipping. It's a mayo based sauce and is not spicy, but flavorful. I eat my sandwich with a knife and fork, it's just neater, I eat at Sassy Bird while I am at work. Great food, great service. read more

I've finally made it to sassy bird and boy was it HOT!! My fiancé and I decided to get the chicken sandwich mild with fries and two chicken strips hot.. bro the chicken strips had my soul on fire. The flavor of the Nashville spices had me wanting water after every bite. Btw the chicken are huge!!! I would never go above Hot. The pricing is okay and i guess a reasonable price since it is a new establishment. 11 for the chicken sandwich and fries and I believe it was $6 for the two strips. The water was $2.18. I can compare this place to howlin rays. The big difference is more options at howlin rays. Sassy only has the sandwich strips and I think some type of chicken fries. All in all the flavor wasn't spectacular but I get it, it's Nashville spices and the point is heat!! I think this place will be here for a very long time. Their food and staff are amazing! My family and I were so glad when Sassy Bird finally opened because there aren't many places like them in the AV. Wait times can be long but when you try their food you'll understand why. Who ever runs their social media account is great! I really appreciate that they're constantly posting and giving us updates of their operations during this difficult time. Recently they had to close the restaurant for walk-ins because idiots didn't know how to respect the social distancing rules that are in place for all of our safety. Thankfully they are still offering delivery to local customers (which let's be honest, those are the best customers) but delivery can be slow. I'm not complaining, I just hope more people would be understanding and practiced patience. If you ever have questions you can send them a DM on Instagram & they're always so quick to respond!
