This was our first time to Sassy's Café and today after breakfast I am not sure why. We pass by this restaurant all the time and we never knew how delicious the food is here. You order your food when you come in. So many choices. I needed help and the young man at the counter was helpful and patient. This restaurant is very cute with booths and tables, clean and comfortable. Self serve coffee and water. My husband is a coffee snob and he and I both enjoyed our coffee while we waited for our breakfast. I had to try the Cinnamon roll French toast which was very sweet but for someone like me with a sweet tooth it was heaven. My husband got the Grande style Breakfast burrito which he loved. It was huge. Both meals came with a red velvet cupcake which I couldn't eat because I was so full. Service was very good with everyone making the rounds at the tables to make sure customers were doing well. Will we be back, Well it won't help my diet but you bet your boots we will be back. We have bought several cakes over the years for special occasions, important occasions. They used to be wonderful. So when it was time for my 50th birthday, my wife decided to use them. First, she went to make the order and they couldn't do a geode cake because of the instability of frosting that was chosen. That was fine, so in store she spent a great amount of time having it remedied and thought the order was perfect when she left. Then two days before pick up she received a call stating that they could not use the banana cream frosting on the top of the cake due to further instability of the cake. This was not discussed at the time of the order. So then the whole design of the cake had to be changed it was agreed to have a green ombre, which was fine, except after looking at this cake during the party for a while, realized it was a poor quality of design work. The ombre was not a true ombre. The cake was delicious except for the poor balance of the filling that was peanut butter cup and banana, it only really tasted like the banana filling. Being, long time customers, we thought this was a fluke, so a couple of weeks later made an order for our son's high school graduation, a pretty big occasion. So the girl took the order and it was explained thoroughly and price was no object same as the first cake. And a picture was sent through email of the what my wife was looking for. there was no response stating that they received the email or they could not do what was asked. When we went to go pick up the cake it was not close. It was suppose to be a smooth white buttercream frosting cake with heavy gold drizzle over the top and the sides. Pretty basic, right. What we got was a nicely smooth white butter cream cake with tiny little gold drizzles on the side and piping on the top that was not supposed to be there. In the shop at the time of pick up it was explained how expensive the gold was and they only went based on the price that was paid, instead of calling to ask us what we wanted to do. I would have paid for it, again a very special occasion. They offered it after the fact when I stated the price did not matter in this situation. My wife was upset and told them she would take the cake as is, our event was in two hours of pick up. So what is the end conclusion, we will never use Sassy's again to get any special occasion cakes, we will be giving our future business to Lisa's Rum Cakes and Sugar Lips Bakery. Sassy's was much better when Melody was the front face of her business and was taking orders. Much better when it was just the Lindsay and Main location all those years ago. Even the customer service was better then. Also, if you no longer offer a certain frosting for your cakes you need to update your website right away. read more

I order a cake from Sassy's for my mom on her birthday and mother's day ever since her favorite bakery stopped doing cakes, and for my part I'm so glad they did! The service at Sassy's is great, the cake is delicious, and they decorate beautifully! So much better on all counts than the place I used to go! For my daughter's second birthday party my mom was in charge of getting the goodies. She found some owl cupcake inspired photos on Pinterest and chose to work with Sassy's to make the vision a reality. When she showed up to the party with these amazing cupcakes in tow, all the guests were so impressed, especially the birthday girl! The cupcakes were adorable and even better than the Pinterest photos! The frosting wasn't overly sweet and the cupcake itself was nice and moist - you can't beat it! Sassy's has fallen off. I don't know if there's new ownership or what, but after 6 years of stellar service and magical cake making, our last three Sassy's cake ordering processes, and the final product, have been awful. When I've ordered online no one responds. When I follow-up with calls, the persons who took the orders were awkward, clearly inexperienced, and confused, leaving me praying that they'd get my orders right. They didn't. I asked to pay for the most recent order after making it, but was told "I have to get a total from my baker, but she's not in, but we have plenty of time. I will call you back." No one called. I called back. Inexplicably, took my order all over again. I showed up today (my son's birthday) to pick up the cake and cup cakes, only to be told, "sorry we don't do cake toppers, even though two different people who took my orders said they could. Now I'm scrambling to find a Hulk toy to top the cake off with, just hours before the party. The cupcakes had white frosting, instead of the green that I ordered, and the cake makers's solution was to scrape the white frosting off, tearing and breaking the rims of the cakes in the process, and leaving remnant patches of white frosting everywhere. I paid $175.00 for a cake that doesn't look like the picture that I provided, and ratchet cup cakes that look like something my 7-year-old could have made. Fry's would have done better for much less. In the face of all of this, the baker I spoke with today lacked any discernible concern or empathy. She only mustered a robotic, emotionless "sorry." I wasn't offered money off, a cookie or even a glass of water while I waited for her to "fix" the cupcakes. No one's perfect, but this is a trend now, and I feel disrespected and devalued, and Sassy's needs to stop charging award-winning prices for confusion, poor service, and amateur results. read more

I have been to Sassy's twice now and am unsure how to choose a rating as the food experiences were so very different from each other. My first visit was for lunch. I had a sandwich that was totally scrumptious in freshness and flavor. The three of us were all totally satisfied and pleased to share this new place to eat! The second visit was for breakfast. The two of us had different egg dishes. They did not come with any bread choice but it could be ordered in addition. Thinking I didn't want the extra carbs, I chose to go with the egg, potato and bacon dish. It was sadly disappointing. There was no taste! No flavor! My friend had the same comments on her egg meal. We both wished we had ordered bread just for the taste! So, it is a cute spot with very kind staff, nothing fancy, but unless you want to order a chicken or turkey sandwich, I don't know what to say you can expect. read more

We ordered dinner on a Tuesday night and had the Fried Chicken Family meal. It was my daughters baby shower during COVID so it was just 8 family members. We were so pleased with the food. Never eaten here before but the mama to be was craving fried chicken and we were not disappointed. Met a friend for a late breakfast. You order at the counter and it's brought out to you quite a while later. The coffee and drinks are self serve. It really needs to be organized better. It feels like a bakery with the restaurant as an afterthought. I ordered the Hawaiian French toast and it was really good. As we left we stopped at the counter to get some treats to take hone. The lemon bar was fantastic along with the cheesecake. I went back again a few days later for lunch. The sandwich was a turkey cranberry and it took almost 20 min to bring it out. There were no sides with the sandwich and for the price it could have has a side. My friends sandwich was burnt and not edible. Again ordered treats as we left and the canolli and eclair were fantastic. It's for a senior citizen crowd with lots of time to spare. It is a great bakery but the restaurant is not a hit. read more

Sassy's advertises that they serve "Vegan Options" and by this they mean "you can take stuff off of our omnivore meals to accommodate." We ordered the Vegetarian Classic and asked for the cheese and mayo to be removed and added Balsamic Vinegar and Olive Oil on the side. First try, our sandwiches were late because they had run out of tomatoes and had to go to the grocery store for more. When our sandwiches finally came out, they had cheese on them. We pointed it out and they quickly took them back. Second try, instead of remaking our sandwiches, they removed the cheese and brought the same sandwiches back out. Not what we prefer, but we settled and began to eat. After a few bites, CHICKEN fell out of one of the sandwiches. Not sure how chicken made it on a vegetarian sandwich. The staff was kind enough to refund our money - shout out to Sydney ! - who was very sweet and kind and was able to assist us in making the Vegetarian Classic vegan. I still think Sassy's is pretty good. I lowered my rating by one star due to two factors -- pricing and changes to the cake recipe that I ordered. Last year I ordered the Hawaiian Chantilly cake for my wife. I ordered the same cake again yesterday. Price for the 6 inch round cake is now $37 and while not outrageous, it is indeed very pricey. But yesterday, the cake itself was dark chocolate, while last year it was a lighter chocolate cake. Luckily, my wife still liked it, but IMO, the lighter cake is better. I wish I knew in advance that they changed the recipe. read more

I went into Sassy's specifically to get cupcakes and I was excited when I saw all the beautiful flavors, but I tried a bite of four different flavors and none of them were impressive. The frosting doesn't taste like it's buttercream, and it has a weird greasy consistency. The cupcakes are not very flavorful and I'm not a fan at all of the frosting they use. If you're looking for variety or looks, their cupcakes have it. But if you care about the actual flavor, this isn't the cupcake for you. Customer service was really helpful and I'll go back sometime to try their food, but I'll go elsewhere for cupcakes. read more

My family has now tried 3 different family meals over the last couple of weeks and it's been AMAZING!! The food is delicious and enough to feed my family of 3 twice. Fried chicken and biscuits ( best biscuits we have ever had!) Pot roast, mashed potatoes and broccoli with cheese sauce (ummm... yum) BBQ, beans (holy moly) Seriously, if you are looking for the best home cooked meal ever, grab the family meal from Sassy's. This place is overpriced and a bit run down inside. They charge $2.75 for a side - which is ok if you get a decent amount for it. I paid $2.75 for ONE sausage patty! It wasn't huge or thick either. It did taste good at least, but not worth the price. The get your own coffee/drink/silverware area was a little gross too. There is no interaction with the staff other than placing order at counter and then they bring it to your table. They make their own syrup which I surprising liked and I'm not a syrup person! read more
