I've also had my hair colored by her and it was beautiful and long lasting, and when I wanted to go back to natural she helped me make it look good in the in between stages. She also recently cut my fiancés hair and she's the first stylist in a long time to actually cut his hair the way he asked for! Super cute shop, there's street parking, definitely recommend

When I booked my mom's blowout, I specifically explained that she has soft, textured hair and was reassured that Yolanda Lusnia was experienced with all hair types. Based on that conversation, we felt confident moving forward with the appointment. Unfortunately, the experience did not meet those expectations. When we first walked into Rock Paper Scissors, the initial expressions and reaction from Yolanda Lusnia and Bree Pickens immediately made my mom and me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. We arrived excited and trusting that my mom would be taken care of, but the first impression left us feeling out of place. During the appointment, I noticed a lack of warmth, communication, and attention to detail that you would expect from a professional salon experience. At the shampoo bowl, Yolanda did not adjust my mom's chair, speak with her, or ask basic comfort questions such as whether the water temperature was comfortable or if she preferred it warmer or cooler. Those small gestures are part of making a client feel cared for, and their absence was noticeable. About 10 minutes into the appointment, Bree did come over and kindly asked if I wanted to sit in the same room as my mom. I appreciated that gesture. However, when Bree walked me back, Yolanda said she was going to ask me the same thing. After the initial interaction, the change in tone felt uncomfortable and confusing. While my mom was at the shampoo bowl, I overheard that there was no way her hair could be blown out without straightening it. I clarified that we had booked a blowout, not a straightening service. After the service was completed, her hair was still very frizzy and did not look like a finished blowout. When I politely expressed my concerns about the result, Yolanda raised her voice and said, "I'm not used to doing this type of hair." That comment was extremely disappointing and made my mom feel singled out because of her natural hair texture. My mom has had successful blowouts at other salons, and the issue was not only the final result. It was the overall experience and the way she felt as a client. I reached out to Katie Enfield privately because I wanted to resolve this respectfully before posting publicly. While I appreciated receiving a response, I did not feel my concerns were fully acknowledged. Every client deserves to feel welcomed, respected, and cared for when they walk into a salon.

She asks all the right questions to make sure she understands exactly what you want, and she has the knowledge and talent to get you there. I completely trust her, and I'm always amazed by the results! I have never received as many compliments on my hair as I have since she started doing it. I love the salon itself, too. It has such a cute vibe with all the plants, and she always has killer music playing! 100/10 -- highly recommend Danika and this salon!

Even before I talk about the color I want to lift up that a) they use tech really well (I'm on Zoom calls from one end of the day to the other so picking up the phone and calling someone is super difficult for me most days). They responded to my inquiry through Yelp immediately, forwarded my request on to their stylists, and I had an appointment set up within a half hour max. Ended up with Stephanie and she was wonderful! While she was putting the color in I noticed she didn't apply any protective gel or vaseline ahead of time to protect my skin from the dye. I just figured, "Well, I'm not going to see anyone today, if I'm walking around with a dye headband, it's fine." Well, she didn't NEED to put anything on my skin to protect it because she's that good at what she does! The color came out great -- very natural and healthy looking, and really shiny. And not one drop of dye anywhere except for on the roots where it belonged. On top of all this, Stephanie was super nice, as was everyone who worked there. Loved the ambience, too -- the music was sort of 70s classic rock as was the decor. I'm hoping to be out in this area again in the coming year, and definitely plan to go back to them! Thanks, Stephanie!

My stylist Natalie had great input and helped me turn my hair vision into a reality. They also carry a wonderful collection of hair care lines and products. Natalie is new to the area, new to Sparrow since June, and she is fantastic! I'm relatively low maintenance but do like to have some grey coverage and found her specifically within this cute salon because she is low chemical, organic processing. I showed a couple pics, explained what I'm seeking, we talked and she began to work her magic. She did an incredible job! I love my color and cut, she is friendly, easy to talk to, good at what she does and gives off an overall warm friendly vibe. Super happy to have finally found someone who is good at what they do and I felt comfortable in her chair. Yay!! All the women at the salon (2 others) were friendly and kind, the whole salon has a friendly hood energy. Some of the products are locally sourced from Concord which is cool - they smell amazing! I'm feeling so happy from this first experience and excited for my next appointment!

My first appointment with Teresa was perfect, it was exactly the color I wanted and I was incredibly happy. At my second appointment I explicitly stated "I want to do what we did last time" yet she proceeded to make my hair significantly darker. I immediately brought up how much darker it was than the previous appt and she assured me it was only a dark gloss and would wash out and lighten up soon. I trusted her. And "left happy" because she assured me it was "just a gloss". I didn't speak up because I trusted her. At my third appointment everything went south. Before we started I brought up again that my hair was made too dark the previous appt and clearly communicated that I did not want my hair to be dark. Teresa proceeded to dye my hair pitch black. I immediately brought it to her attention at the end of my appt and let her know I was NOT happy with how dark my hair was. This time, Teresa's story completely changed, she told me she had actually used permanent dye at my second appointment not a gloss. After a lot of back and forth and attempted gaslighting she eventually admitted that she hadn't taken proper notes and couldn't remember exactly what she had done to my hair at my previous appointments. Awesome. Not only was this extremely unprofessional and disorganized on her part but throughout the process I felt completely gaslit. She put words in my mouth that I never said. She made decisions about my hair that I never consented to. She did what she wanted with my hair instead of communicating with me and getting my approval first. Her lack of accountability made an already bad situation feel even worse. She knew she had made a mistake, admitted it but still tried to gaslight me to agree with her rather than take accountability. To top it all off despite her completely admitting fault, she only offered me a partial refund. After her countless mistakes and the way the entire situation was handled, the partial refund felt like a slap in the face. I wish I would have never sat in her chair. It's unfortunate that this experience reflects on the salon because I'm sure there are much more professional stylists there to choose from. If you do decide to book with Teresa, I would STRONGLY recommend being VERY direct about what you want and making sure you explicitly consent to any changes before she proceeds. -5/10.
