Jenny rushed through my hair cut , came out uneven and choppy , she was in some kinda hurry . I showed up early, I would have waited but Jenny took me and in 20 min I was done . She asked if I needed it blowed dried , I said no it's ok . It was in the price , she acted like it was extra . When I got home and my hair dried I cried very uneven everywhere , I have to get another cut to repair what Jenny did . I have big planes tonight and my hair looks bad . I decided to take a leap and made an appointment for a perm here. Prior to my appointment, there was no instructions nor conversations about my hair. No one reached out to me at all. The price for the perm on my appointment stated it would be about $125+. Considering I had mid-length hair I expected to pay that price but was a little surprised when the stylist said it would be about $300 because of my very thick hair. $300 is understandable if my hair turned out amazing but sadly it did not lol. For the first few days, my hair looked okay. After the second wash, it was no longer a curly perm rather staightish/wavy hair. I'm quite disappointed because I paid so much money for something I did not want. The whole perm process was quite painful. I felt my hair being pulled through the whole rolling process. She also had another appointment after me, so she was rushing the whole time, and spilling perm solution all over my neck and back Also, they did not warn me that my jewelry will be affected by the perm solution. When I got home, my silver necklace and earrings turned black. I also wanted to note that I followed the instructions on how to care for my hair but unfortunately, my "curly" hair did not last long lol. read more

I had been living in the Burlingame/Redwood City area since the late 80's and was fortunate to have all three of the above all in line. All three professionals were 5 star in every way. However in April of 2017 my wife and relocated to Santa Rosa and our lives would be turned upside down and my hair was the biggest casualty. I searched for months trying to find someone who could tame my crazy hair as good as my former stylist, but thanks to Yelp this worry is no longer a concern. I found Angelina through Yelp, her reviews are near perfect and after several months going to her I cannot be happier. She certainly knows the art of cutting hair and making it look perfect. And my hair by the way, is challenge to say the least. And thanks to Angelina, my wife is loving my new (and improved) look. Love Jolene!! My hair stylist for more than 20 years. I first met Jolene after a really bad haircut :(, very reluctant to get yet another stylist. She was very easy to connect and communicate with. She eased and understood my anxieties, allowing me to vent all my frustrations with previous salons/stylist. I have left salons in the past for how I was perceived and treated more than a bad haircut. I was not able to articulate exactly what i wanted, but over time and Jolene's patience with me, she was able to get the color and style for me. First off, Joleane (co-owner of Halo Salon) is AMAZING!!! She's great at doing bleach blonde. She's fast (under 2 hours for foils and cut), she was able to get my hair lighter than other stylists can, and she is so sweet and fun to talk to!! I always leave there feeling happy and beautiful! She also has appointment times open later in the evening, which is great for people (me) who work until 5 every day. I've tried other hair stylists in Santa Rosa before finding her, and she is by far the best!! Second, the salon itself is SO CUTE!! It's modern and stylish. I just called to ask if I can get hair color from them. It's really close to my house and that would be convenient! (Keep in mind I have my cosmetology license). The receptionist was really rude. She said, "We don't do that here" with attitude. I asked, "Can I know why that is"? She goes on to belittle me and talk down saying, "We had to go to school and actually get a license for this". It was just really rude and disrespectful for no reason, her tone was as if she was better than me, just dumb and petty. I have my license and would never talk to a customer or person like that. After a miscommunication with my former stylist I walked into Halo without an appointment for a haircut with anyone who was available. Scary? You bet! Angelina said she would cut my hair after she finished with the client she had in her chair. I waited about 15 minutes and got a great first cut. Already have an appointment with Angelina for cut #2. Halo's new location is not as bright and sunny as other reviewers have described the old shop. It is rather darkly decorated with a linear arrangement of stations. My hairstylist Danielle has been working for Halo a few years now. She has been doing my hair for over 10 years. I trust her with every ounce of my being when it comes to hair. She is EXTREMELY knowledgeable and understands so much about hair. What I love about her is her talent to do hair and how sweet she is. I couldn't ask for a better hair dresser. She is always willing to listen to what I need and help me along the way when it comes to anything new for my hair. She also keeps up on education herself with new techniques and products for the industry. We have great conversations while there at the salon, and she really cares about her clients. I read a positive review on nextdoor about Halo stylist Danielle. I called and waited 2 weeks for an appt outside with her. I also had a dental appt. 1 and 15 mins after the haircut. She was 20 minutes late for the appt as she was cutting someone else's hair. I wanted a short, layered, curly wedge and had photos to show her exactly what I wanted. She cut my hair for about 1/2 hour, then started to blow it out straight. I did not want it blown straight and it was getting late for my next appt so I told her to leave it. I paid her $65 and gave her a $10 tip. When I got home, I was disappointed to find that the hair had barely been cut, was not layered, and did not have the short top and back I had requested. Hairs were still COVID split and uneven. Though I rarely have asked for a recut, I really needed one in 'tis case. Danielle was reluctant and defensive and refused to give me an appt. She said her cut was fine and that she would only cut a small part without charging me. For a full recut she insisted I pay the full price again and was also rude and angry. Do not go to Danielle. She has a very inflated sense of her expertise and is not kind. What a waste of my time. read more

I have long hair and she gives me layers that add volume and look amazing straightened and with beach curls. Halo salon got me in after my hair Apt got last minute cancled with Jennifer Noonan, I was very skeptical and a little frightened honestly because I have always had long long hair, due to the weight of my hair I have developed a scalp condition so it was time for a change. I explained my situation to Jennifer and she was very thoughtful about everything, she worked with me giving me suggestions to help kept some length, and she thinned out my hair so it's not so heavy. I wasn't sure what I kind of cut I wanted done but was relying on the artistic ability of a "stylist." I also was looking to grow out my dark color from the light that was growing out from summer. Angelina said we can give you a bob, and she up gave me full highlights that chemically melted my already color treated hair. The cut was a jagged with no shape, not a bob, nightmare with scattered chemically melted hair that left me wanting to wear a bag over my head. I did return with ANGELINA give her a chance to FIX what she had done. UNSUCCESSFUL. She couldn't understand what was wrong. I emailed the owner Joleane and Angelina ended up REFUNDing me and Joleane extended a 25% discount on hair product. My visit here was because my regular stylist at THE PARLOR SALON in SANTA ROSA on 4TH STREET was booked. I cheated on my regular stylist and was left with a chemically melted hack job of a "hair cut " 2 1//2 MONTHS LATER and i am still visiting my regular stylist ANGELICA at THE PARLOR SALON in SANTA ROSA on 4TH STREET to fix the mess that I received at HALO SALON. I got my hair cut by Jennifer Mendoza and she was amazing! I've never had such a great experience with getting my hair cut and styled any where. She is the reason I'm giving a full 4 stars. The only reason its getting 4 and not 5 is because when I walked in I felt like I got some weird looks from who ever was working at the register when I walked in.
