Really laid back and cozy Indian restaurant. Met up with a few friends here and the three of us were able to share two of the fixed priced dinners. It came with two apps, two entrees and a dessert. They were really kind enough to give each of us a dessert which I really appreciated. The service stayed kind and responsive through out.

Amazing meal with the most attentive servers at Sathi this past week. We managed to snag a last minute res around 7. Recommend ordering from their pre-fix menu, which comes with a appetizer, entree, and side/dessert. We opted for the pre-fix menu with an additional order of garlic naan and jhol momos. Started off with a piece of lamb samosa - super flaky and plenty of filling. Chicken tikka masala didn't look like a lot of food, but trust me there's a lot of protein. I ordered the mango lassi which wasn't too sweet or thick. Please try their jhol momos! It was served in a light broth that was so flavorful. Broth had a strong tomato and umami flavor, and lamb was very well seasoned. None of the food we ordered was crazy spicy - if you want an extra kick try the vindaloo.

Friends and I were looking for an inexpensive spot that serves quality Indian food near the union square area and we found Sathi. So happy we came here because for less than $20 per person we managed to get some of the best Indian food! We started with the dinner special and got a chicken biryani extra spicy and it was so good. They also serve papad and kept refilling it for us! The chicken tikka masala was also really good but the biryani was so delicious. Our waiter was incredibly kind and brought us rasmalai on the house. I'll definitely be coming back here.

Four star food, five star service. This has been on my list and I'm so glad I could eat here. We got the vegetable curry and chili mushroom entrées. The chili mushroom was truly fantastic. The sauce over the mushroom is to die for and such a delicious spice. I'm salivating as I'm writing this right now. The vegetable curry had a lot of good greens in that are healthy. Not very saucy though, as far as curry goes. We got this cheese, chickpea appetizer that our server recommended. It truly taste like Mexican salad, but it's Indian. And so much better. It was delicious. I will be thinking thinking of this one. Reis was good. Complementary bread with sauces. The service is amazing. Extremely kind people. They are always on top of filling up your waters. And then when we left to go, they threw in a complementary rice pudding which I had the next day and it was so so tasty. Thank you so much for being so generous.

Sathi was delicious! We made a reservation through yelp & were immediately seated upon arrival. They give you a delicious thin cracker with dips to start before ordering. After splitting chicken& vegetable samosas with my husband, I ordered the chicken tikka masala with garlic naan (my go-to Indian order) & it was delightful! It ends up being a lot of food (and I'm a big eater) so I had some leftovers for the next day. I ordered through a "select one" type of offer on the menu that included an app, entree, and side... great value! The restaurant was comfortable & had booth seating on one side of most of the tables opposite chairs. Cozy!

The dinner prix-fixe is perfect. Went on a Saturday night a bit earlier and it was easy to get a table, decided on the chicken biryani, naan, and samosa for 28.99. Wonderful deal as my biryani portion was HUGE and I had leftover naan. My sister opted for the butter chicken and upgraded her naan to garlic naan. Very good food for sure

Overall: 4.5 stars Found another Indian place with an all day prix fix menu! I'm a sucker lately for prix fix menus but this one allowed you to pick a side or a dessert so I liked that option. The price went up from the menu I saw 3 months ago and from the website. It's now $25.95 for appetizer, entree, and a side or dessert. Still a good value, it saves a few dollars compared to ordering off the regular menu. I'll say you can skip the prix fix and get the regular menu if you don't really want the three course. It ended up being a good amount of food. Service was really good. They refilled our water frequently and asked us how we were doing. It also wasn't busy so we didn't feel rushed at all. They also started us off with a complimentary dish which I don't know the name of. It was like a lightly fried large chip with two different dips (a spicy green sauce and a sweet tamarind sauce). Personally, I loved the sweet tamarind sauce. They were even better mixed together. We got the vegetable and lamb samosa. The samosa skin was a little thick and more doughy than we liked but still good. The vegetable one was better than the lamb. The lamb had a very gamey flavor that I didn't really enjoy. The entree we got the chicken korma and the butter chicken. The chicken korma was delicious and creamy. The butter chicken was just alright to me, the tomato flavor is strong. The chicken though was pretty dry for both dishes but more noticeably the butter chicken. We also got the plain naan as a side and it was huge! It was cut into four pieces which I liked, it wasn't too bready and was a little crispy. My friend really enjoyed the naan. Personally, I thought the naan was okay, not amazing but not bad either. They almost forgot my kheer but ended up giving another kheer for my friend on the house. I thought that was very nice of them. The kheer was very flavorful and I would say that flavor wise, it was more unique compared to the other kheer I've had. I liked the little pieces of fruit(?) seemed like some sort of berry. Overall: The service and ambiance were great. They played this relaxing music that at first I thought was out of place but I really grown to enjoy it. The chicken korma definitely is a highlight as well as their sweet tamarind sauce.

Came here on a Saturday night which I found after doing research for Indian food. Read the reviews and saw pictures and def wanted to try this spot out. Complementary chip with dips was served and it was really light and crispy. For appetizer, started with chicken samosa which was part of the prefix combo ($25.90) and was solid. Got the tandoori chicken tikka ($18.95) which was really tasty and flavorful. My friend got the chicken tikka masala and it was so good. Everything was great, except for one slight discomfort. Since it was cold out, anytime someone walked through the entrance, the place got really cold. My friend had to eat with a jacket on. Other than that, place is bomb. I would definitely come back and I highly recommend this place if you're in the mood for really good Indian food.

We came here for a meal before a show at Gramercy Theatre and it was great! There's seating for about 20 people inside, with an area for outside seating as well. It got full while we were there, but not a line out the door. The servers were nice and very attentive (our water cups were never empty). The prix-fix menu is a great deal and extremely filling. They give you a starter at the beginning of the meal with two dips. It's like a big chip, the green dip was spicy, and the dark brown dip tasted like tamarind. For my appetizer, I ordered the pakora which I had never had before. I have no basis for authenticity, but it tasted great! It added a textural difference to my meal since it was crunchy. While not stated on the menu, the prix-fix appetizer is a half-serving so this came with 4 pieces of pakora. For my entree, I got the butter chicken, which comes with rice. It was great and came with lots of chicken. Lastly, I decided to get a side of naan. There's not much to say about that, but it was much larger than I expected. This is the perfect place to come if you're craving Indian food!

Great indian food in the area, and reasonably priced! I'd definitely recommend the garlic naan, it was very yummy! The paneer was also a hit, would order that again. Butter chicken was good, but I would try something else next time. I would overall recommend this place for anyone looking for indian food! The restaurant was mostly empty on a weeknight, which was nice! There was no wait. I noticed a lot of people doing takeout orders, must be a popular place!

However, sometimes you just take a chance and pray it lives up to the hype. Having a short period of time before our show at Radio City Music Hall, two of us shared a quick bite here after a few snacks on the nearby street fair. Just one order of Chicken Tikka Marsala, Garlic Naan, and a Mango Lassi. I'm actually not a big fan of Chicken Tikka Marsala because it's often too sweet and creamy for me. Though the chicken was overcooked, I did find this version quite differernt, in a good way. It had depth, and definitely a lot of heat, even on the medium level, the spiciness was very noticeable. My dining partner would have died without that Mango Lassi, which was yummy. Lmao On the other hand, the Garlic Naan was horrible. Instead of being a pillowy soft bread with some chew, it was stiff and cardboard-ish. This is one of the worst versions I had in NYC. Not sure how this major blunder can be overlooked. Naan is such an important part of Indian food culture, I can't believe they haven't realize that they need to fix this matter. Btw, service was efficient, almost too efficient that it felt rushed. One minute after we were seated, we were asked if ready to order. Again, we were asked literally one minute later. Then, just as we were finishing our meal, and while I'm still chewing my final bite of food, the bus boy cane to take our plates away. I was technically done, but would have like to have had a minute. Finally, without asking about desserts, another server came by with our check as if to say, "Please pay and make room for the next guests." I know we wanted a quick meal, but never thought we would be in and out of a situation down restaurant in less than 30 minutes. Hahaha Anyway, I live in Queens where we have same quality Indian restaurants at a much lower price point. Portions are bigger too. For me, this is an attempt at finding a gem that everyone seems to suggest. Unfortunately, it's hard for me to return to an Indian restaurant knowing they can't properly make naan.

Because of its location, it may appear unassuming and underrated, but the food is bold, spicy, flavorful, and packed full of rich cultural elegance. On my first visit, I was able to try a few different dishes, both veg and non-veg, as well as one of their signature cocktails. We ordered to start the Kale Pakora Chaat (fried kale, tamarind chutney, with a sweet yogurt) and it was perfectly crispy, flaky, and delicious. Next, for main dish we ordered the Paneer Methi (fried paneer in a fenugreek and tomato blend) and I honestly can never complain when it comes to any paneer dish and I have to say this one was absolutely no exception. The paneer was so soft and tasty with the sauce and other spices that I couldn't help but feel like I was eating a home cooked meal. Lastly, I ordered the Shami kebab because I wanted to try a non veg dish. This item consists of lamb, minced and blackened, paired with a green chili sauce with mint. I have to say this was a complete miss for me; the lamb was so dry and mealy I couldn't finish it at all, on top of that it had too many spices and was a bit salty in my opinion so I needed a lot of water. I would seriously consider altering this dish before keeping it on the menu in its current state or removing it completely. If you're thinking of ordering this, I wouldn't recommend it as I'm sure they have other protein dishes on their menu that are far better. I'm looking forward to trying some of the others the next time I go. Lastly for cocktails, we ordered the Monsoon wedding (Indian gin, lychee, curry leaf, and lime). I thought the cocktail was alright, it didn't stand out too much to me as it was a fairly decent lychee drink that had a slightly muted flavor. I've noticed that Indian restaraunts often struggle to make good cocktails because too often they rely on mixing things that shouldn't really be mixed and adding unnecessary ingredients. Overall though, the time spent there was worth it and I appreciate that it's relatively easier to get a reservation here than at some of the other Indian spots in New York currently. Based on my experience, Dhamaka should be considered highly rated on that list.
