Good service and food. We got the snowy karaage, snowy because they sprinkle some parmesan cheese on top. It was juicy and crunchy, personally I could have gone without the cheese on top it didn't really add much but was an interesting twist. The shoyu ramen was good too, the ramen noodles were cooked perfectly and the flavor was good too! I just felt like I didn't have enough broth compared to everything else in the bowl. The bowl was filled maybe halfway so definitely could've used a few more scoops of broth! Other than that, everything was delicious!
Stumbled upon this ramen restaurant with my wife and wow it was such a good decision to visit during a weekend lunch. It wasn't busy when we arrived but it got quite busy during our meal. Staff here is great. They're professional, friendly, and quick. Interior is also very spacious and there's plenty of tables for a ramen restaurant standard. Love the darker vibes as well. We ordered the Yuzu Shio Ramen($15.99) and Tonkotsu Ramen($16.99) for our own bowls and the snowy karaage fried chicken ($7.99) to share. The two ramen bowls were extremely delicious. Portions are very much standard which is great. Presentation is always a high standard when it comes to ramen and this restaurant upholds that standard. The flavoring were just perfect, nothing too overwhelming and not too salty as well which is always great to see. Love each and every bite. The karaage are absolutely delicious. One of the best I've ever eaten. Deep fried served with mayonnaise which adds tons of flavoring. Even without the mayo, it's very flavorful regardless, the snowy flakes adds a bit of texture to each bite as well which makes this a top tier dish. Highly recommend. Overall, a great ramen restaurant. We left the restaurant very fulfilled and excited to add this to the list of top restaurants in California. Loved each and every bite on top of the fast service, high quality ramen is not easy to replicate but Sato does a great job at it. There's a reason why they're top 100 California Ramen restaurants ranked at #48. Excited to visit again to try other ramen bowls.
What a great find! Went there for lunch at the recommendation of my daughter, & we immediately liked the ambiance & vibe...very calming simplicity. A decent variety on their menu as well, not just ramen, & a fairly extensive appetizer list. There was a summer special menu, so we ordered the spicy cold tofu, which was delicious. Also got spicy gyozas, that was very flavorful. We picked the yuzu shio ramen, and that was very yummy...light chicken broth, ramen noodles that were nice & "springy" with the right texture. Prices were reasonable too, many other ramen locations can get very pricey with their sides/appetizers but not so here. Their staff were friendly & respectful too. Enjoyable experience all around!
Stopped by Sato Ramen House after work with a coworker and had a wonderful dining experience from start to finish. We were greeted immediately upon arrival and seated right away. The restaurant is bright, spacious, and welcoming, and the aroma of the simmering broth filled the air the moment we walked in. I ordered the Yuzu Shio Ramen with charred tonkatsu, which was fantastic. The char on the pork added a wonderful smoky flavor that complemented the light, citrusy broth and noodles beautifully. My coworker ordered the Beef Curry and Rice with a Vegetable Korokke and thoroughly enjoyed her meal as well. One of the highlights of our visit was the Black Truffle Chawanmushi. It was absolutely divine! The silky steamed egg combined with shrimp, scallops, and the rich truffle sauce created layers of incredible umami flavor. Every bite was comforting, flavorful, and beautifully balanced. To share, we ordered the tofu and seaweed salad along with the garlic edamame. The garlic edamame is a must-order. The sauce was so flavorful that I honestly wouldn't mind eating a bowl of rice topped with just that garlic sauce. It was that good! Overall, the food was delicious, the service was friendly and efficient, and everything came out quickly. Sato Ramen House definitely left a great impression, and I look forward to coming back to try more dishes from their menu.
Great service, good atmosphere and amazingly one of the best ramen we tried. This is our first time here and surprisingly we never been here? All including their appetizers also delish. Seriously this place need to be more busy. Try them and let me know. Easily the best ramen in la now.
My favorite ramen in Pasadena. The broth is rich and delicious, the pork is perfectly cooked and the egg is delicious. I also tried their gyozas and they were delicious. Ambience is great, never too packed. Service is quick.
I enjoyed their yuzu ramen. It was very interesting. It was definitely not the usual ramen youd expect. It was citrusy and very light. The chashui it came with, you can taste the charred. I also got the chawanmushi and they provided soy sauce with it. It wasnt bad but id prefer to get their karage chicken instead. The karage was lightly battered and very crispy. They also had parm cheese on top of it. Would need to come back to try their other items. There is street parking and also parking structures you can park at. Sadly both requiring payment.
Your average ramen shop. My mazesoba was pretty good, I liked the flavors. I wish the takoyaki has more octopus bc each one only had one piece, the one I buy frozen has more. The tonkotsu was decent. My sister agreed the karage curry was a pass

This is cozy restaurant located in downtown. We were welcomed and got seated quickly by our server. Staff is very friendly and attentive. For starters we had spicy agedashi tofu, this dish has fried tofu topped with very refreshing mashroom sauce. Very delicious! Unagi Bowl - grilled eel and rice. Dish was perfect. Fish was very delicate and cooked to perfection. I thanked in my mind for not overcooking it. Unagi sauce pairs well but may be I'll get it on side next time. This dish came with my favorite miso soup cup ... Yumm!!! My family had spicy ramen and chicken ramen. You can change protein in your ramen. Everyone loved their dishes. I recommend this place !!! We had a nice dinner at this restaurant. It is classy, clean, and the food is delicious. We had the Unagi Bowl and Shoyu Ramen. The customer service is excellent. We will definitely be back.
A hidden gem in Pasadena. They have a nice variety of ramen, mazesoba, and rice plates/bowls. I had the Tsukemen and it was delicious. The broth was full of flavor. The chashu was tender and flavorful. Vegetarians-they have solid options. The vegetarian mazesoba was delicious. Portions were just right. Service was great and it wasn't overly crowded like some nearby ramen shops.

Trying this ramen restaurant because it is so close to my house and it has good reviews. First of all, service is really great and staff is sooo smiley! The foods are delicious. My party orders 3 different kinds of ramen; tonkotsu, spicy tonkotsu and shoyu. The shoyu stands out the most for everyone because it tastes unique. It is light, but also very flavorful. It's rare to find a good shoyu ramen. The tonkotsu is also delicious, but I feel like I've had such good tonkotsus at other places before. The chashu is AMAZING. It's just sooo right in many ways. It is tender, it melts, it is charred very nicely, it is perfect! Try this restaurant when you are in this area. read more

My son picked this place for our little dinner date. He's 12 and gets to look up a place of his choice. He chose this place for a Friday night. I was so surprised it's not crazy crowded. I visited this place for ramen with my friend after the Christmas tree lighting at Pasadena City Hall! It was the perfect spot to grab dinner on a cold rainy night. We ordered the tamagoyaki as the appetizer and we each got one of the tonkotsu ramen. The appetizer was easy to share and I haven't had anything like it before. I am a fan of almost every egg dish and this is no exception! It was a great start to the meal. The tonkotsu ramen was delicious and hearty with the meat having a nicely charred flavor. I was certainly full after the meal and highly recommend if you are looking for a good ramen place in the area! Excellent service and welcoming atmosphere that is warmly lit and spacious. When we first walked in we were immediately greeted by the friendly staff. They quickly seated me and my friends. The interior of the restaurant is cozy and comfortable. The restroom was also fairly clean and easy to find. They quickly took our orders and brought us our drinks. Our food came out within 15 minutes which was a reasonable amount of time especially for our ramen. We ordered a beef gyudon which came with miso soup, shoyu ramen, and tonkatsu ramen. All the food was amazing and phenomenal. It was a little salty but it's ramen so it's to be expected! The ice water was also refreshing and did not have a tap water taste to it. The food and service was so good I was shocked the restaurant wasn't packed! I recommend coming here to grab a nice bowl of ramen. The parking is a little hard but there is street parking or paid parking lots nearby. read more
On a rainy day, my friend and I tried out this place. We got a table pretty fast and luckily in good timing. We ordered one appetizer and ramen. The ramen was good and pretty fillable size. Parking: Usually snag a spot in any of the nearby lots that have $1/2 hours of parking. The Schoolhouse lot no longer offers free 90 minutes, sadly. Food: Got super full off of a bowl of ramen and splitting a 6-piece gyoza with a friend. I didn't even finish my ramen! Broth was flavorful and not too oily like some other ramen places. Super great value as well! - 6 Piece Beef Gyoza - Tonkotsu Ramen Ambiance/Service: Came in on a Sunday around 5:30pm and there was no line. My party of 3 was sat immediately but a line started to form around 6:30-7pm. Service was adequate, as there seemed to be a sufficient amount of servers in ratio to the tables. Our food took around 20 minutes to be served, which was a longer wait than I expected. But it seemed like they had a lot of to-go orders at this time so it was understandable. read more

Delicious ramen spot in the heart of Old Town Pasadena! This place can fill up quickly during lunch time so come early or be prepared to wait a little. The staff is super friendly and the restaurant is clean and aesthetically pleasing. The soft shell crab bao was delicious for an appetizer followed by a tonkatsu ramen. One of the few places where I actually finished the pork belly because it was so tender and cooked to perfection! Definitely check out Sato Ramen House if you're in the area. read more

Sato Ramen House is a solid Japanese restaurant in Old Pasadena. I tried the Yuzu Shio Ramen and it was very tasty, a little citrusy with plenty of charsiu and other toppings. I also ordered the delicious chawanmushi, which came out perfectly jiggly and savory. This little meal ended up being so large, because the restaurant sent out comped chashu fried rice (delish) and if you check in on yelp, you receive takoyaki . I would def come again. read more
The food was good, clean, and well packaged, stapled in a paper bag. I ordered tonkotsu ramen and takoyaki. Both items were strong in flavor and very rich. I didn't think ramen and takoyaki takeout togo would be good, but it was better than I expected. Takoyaki was bit soft when i got home but it still tasted good. I would recommend trying out their ramen and takoyaki if within the area. The only downside coming here is parking, I had to drive around the block 2 times to find a spot, but food quality is good. read more
We ordered to go, and everything was packaged individually and neatly. For my Vegan Mazesoba, the tofu was boxed separately from the noodles which were separate from the rest of the ingredients. Even the nori/ dry seaweed was in its own bag. The mazesoba was tasty, especially the crispy tofu which was very fresh. There is no soup in this noodle, but you get a side of miso soup. Taiwan Bibimbap is an interesting take on the traditional bibimbap, in a good delicious way. Glad we found this restaurant and am looking forward to trying other dishes. It doesn't hurt that it's located next to I Like Pies, so you can pick up some dessert too. read more

Ramen was sooo good! So flavorful and the egg and saffron was a nice touch! Food: The tamagoyaki & takoyaki was freshly made and had plenty sauce and octopus, respectively. Service: Workers were very attentive and gave refilled our waters often! They also helped package our leftovers for us! Ambiance: Nice booth + chair situation. I liked how spread out the tables are so that you wouldn't feel too cramped with other patrons. Overall 10/10 will be back! Parking: Parking is available in the lot across the street. We paid $2 for 2 hours! read more

My sister and I had been wanting to try this ramen spot for awhile now and it did not disappoint. The spot is very cute and casual. We sat and we ordered the spicy garlic edamame and for a simple dish that has minimal ingredients, it surprised me how good and flavorful it was. I have ordered this dish from multiple spots and Sato serves the best of it. We also ordered the spicy california wraps. They were basically an opened cali roll. It was good, i enjoyed it but not as much as I enjoyed the edamame and their ramen. My sister and I both ordered the Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen and it was DELICIOUS. The ramen wasn't very spicy which was good because I loved how the spiciness of the ramen didn't over power the rich flavor of it! It was a perfect balance but they give u chilli to add more spice if you'd like. Lastly, the noodle was fresh and the texture was perfect. I would love to come here again. Although, they do seem understaffed so it takes a minute to get served so be patient, but the staff is nice and really do try their best! read more
Food was very delicious. I got the Yuzu Shio Ramen. It was a bit too much lemon flavor for my taste. So if that's your thing, I suggest getting that. We also got the Black truffle Chawanmushi. It tasted so delicious! Recommend getting that! We are not fans of Sake but I love Mio. Tastes nothing like regular Sake as it's carbonated. You should try it. Very cute spot and the staff was so kind. Can't wait to go back. read more

Came from the San Fernando Valley to the Pasadena convention. I found this ramen spot one day and it is THE BEST RAMEN i have ever tried in my life. Everything was perfect. The taste of the broth is out of this world. So savory and made to perfection. The service was perfect. The waiters are very attentive and friendly with very fast service. Compliments to the chef. The ramen here gives you a taste of their culture. There is absolutely nothing wrong in this place. I plan to come again soon. Thank you so much. read more

A nice little spot in Pasadena. Went to try their tonkotsu ramen; I found it pretty tasty but the egg had a weird taste to it. It comes with thick noodles, an egg, 2 pieces of nori, bean sprouts, 3 pieces of lightly charred chasu, and bamboo with I opted out of. I also decided to try one of their Genki Sparkling Waters: Lychee flavored. Overall, I found this place to be pretty good and I would come back. read more

I got to say their Ramen was really good here. I came in around 6pm or so.m, basically it was dinner hours. So far, it was not crowded or a lot of people at that time. The restaurant was really clean and love the ambiance of the restaurant. It feels like you walking into a relaxing atmosphere, kind of night and day walking from outside in the busy day of downtown to a calm and cool restaurant. They serve you really quickly, I only went alone but I watch the magic when there is party of 5 or more. I was seated in few minutes and got my ordered a few minutes later. I feel it's also a positive, how they keep their menu simple and straight to the point. At times , ordering in a restaurant having too many items in a menu can overwhelm a customer. For that day, I ordered Hells Ramen(I love spicy food) and 6pcs of Gyoza for appetizers. The Gyoza got to my table first. It was soft, and warm. I have eaten other gyoza in other Ramen restaurants, these are one of the better ones, I've eaten. It was really good and just a fun little time eating them. Then a few minutes or so, the main entree gets to my table. I love the presentation of the Ramen and I was not sure what they gave on the side(I can't recall). My guess it's more chili or spicy, to make it even more spicy. So when it comes to Ramen, one of things I look for is how cooked the noodles are. The taste was pretty good but the best, I've tasted out there. It was soft, and just melted in your mouth. The soup base was where I felt in heaven. The combination of the ingredients and the soup base was just something else. I loved every minute of eating this Ramen. When it comes to price, I feel they were very reasonable. Overall, I would definitely recommend this Ramen, if you are nearby in the area. Great food, great service and a wonderful looking restaurant. Would definitely eat again in future. read more

Nice Ramen place. ONLY ISSUE...not enough help to clean tables and get you seated. 2 girls work very hard there, but waaay over worked. You need to hire 1 more person on a busy Saturday. Empty dirty tables sat there for a long time and customers were not seated. Only complaint. Food was good. Broth was decent. Not a very rich broth like some other places, but still very good. Pork was delicious and noodles cooked great. Girls that served the good nice and great service excluding my earlier comments. read more

The first time I had Mazemen or Maze Soba was at restaurant in West Los Angeles called, "Mogumogu." I tried it in 2019, and it was wonderful. Flash forward to today and I decided to try Sato Ramen. There's a check in special for 2 pieces of Takoyaki free with your meal. The service here is superb, and Maze Soba is an absolute delight. This is a lot closer to me than West Los Angeles, so I feel lucky. Please eat at this restaurant and support this business. I will be a regular customer at this establishment. read more

I enjoyed their Tonkotsu ramen ($14) that came with bamboo shoots, a full marinated soft boiled egg, green onions, chashu, and a couple pieces of nori. I could taste the mirin flavor in the soft boiled egg and the chashu had a good char on it although it was on the fattier side. The broth is definitely on the richer side. The noodles were cooked perfectly with the perfect bit of bounce. The yelp check in also gave 2 free takoyaki, which were crispy and flavorful. However, the takoyaki only had one small piece of octopus. We went on a Sunday night around 7 pm and did not have to wait at all. The restaurant is clean and modern and the tables do not feel too cramped together. We found street parking pretty easily and enjoyed a short walk to the restaurant. Overall, a solid ramen place that may not be the best I ever had but I definitely enjoyed it. read more
One of the better ramen places in SoCal! Came on a Sunday night and was immediately seated. Located across from the School House parking structure so very convenient. I appreciate the variety in their menu despite being a "Ramen House"! They offer curry, mazesoba, Taiwan bibimbap amongst other things. Ordered the Shoyu Ramen ($12.99) and the Black Truffle Chawanmushi ($4.99). Checked in on Yelp to also receive Takoyakis! Our server was amazing! I ordered no green onions for my ramen and chawanmushi and he made sure no green onions were on my fried rice that came with my ramen! :') thank you for the attentiveness!!! The portions were HUGE for the price point! Definitely well worth it! My previous favorite Shoyu Ramen was from HiroNori. This place definitely takes the cake! The rest of my party ordered the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen ($14.99), Yuzu Shio ($12.99), original Mazesoba ($9.99) and Tonkatsu Curry ($13.99) and all were pretty well received! What drew me here was a post in instagram advertising their yuzu cold soba. I want to try anything that has yuzu in it - such a delicious, unique citrus flavor. We went for a little date night here - our first time dining here. It's a cute place, comfy casual feeling with a beautiful mural art on one wall that has a fantastical anime feel. Their menu is pretty interesting with things like a Taiwanese Bi Bim Bap, Mazesoba which is a dry noodle dish that I need to try next time I come here - if I can keep from ordering the Yuzu cold soba again. We ordered the spicy agedashi tofu. I'm a huge fan of agedashi and this one had some ground pork on it that was so very tasty. My husband ordered the Katsu with curry which comes with rice and miso soup. The pork cats was beautifully crunchy without feeling oily and heavy - that's a feat to pull off with a panko crusted, fried pork cutlet. What struck me was how juicy the pork was - it was nice and tender and well seasoned. The curry was VERY good. I went in for just a taste and ended up taking 3 bites - I couldn't stop. Ha! The yuzu cold soba was beautifully presented and the shrimp tempura that came with it was crispy and felt light and not greasy. The dipping sauce for the noodles had such a delicious dose of yuzu flavor in it and the noodles were served on ice - nice and cold! It's there for the summer so it might not be on the menu full time. We agreed that we are definitely coming back. I am going to be craving this meal very soon. read more
