sato seafood had some of the best seafood that we had in oahu and was so light and fresh! it's a small shop next to marugame udon and had no line on a tuesday evening. they were super quick and we were in and out within 10 mins! we ordered 2 hand rolls, a yuzu ahi roll and ikura salmon roll. the yuzu ahi roll was delicious -- it had a bit of a crunch with the toppings, a small kick to it, and the yuzu gave a nice tanginess to pair with the ahi. the salmon roll came with fish eggs, which was such a perfect combo you can never go wrong with, especially with how fresh everything was. we also got a hawaiian munchies bowl. the ahi tuna was super fresh and rice was seasoned very well with the mayo sauce. the spice was mild and not too much for us (we are spice noobs). overall, this was one of our favorite meals during our stay oahu and we would definitely come back for more! read more

SO good, I went twice during my week in Honolulu. Smaller, no frills, almost hard to notice exterior. I loved the mentai macadamia aburi salmon bowl, and I tried the wabi sabi wasabi salmon bowl but it really does have a strong wasabi flavor - I still liked it, but wouldn't get it again, or at least would pair it with something to tone it down a bit (like nori and avocado, yum!). Down the center of the dish was line of salmon roe (ikura), and other garnishes. TBH, we were hangry, and scarfed it down so quickly, we neither snapped a photo, nor noted the decoration. It was gorgeous! The ikura was fresh, and popped but melted in your mouth. It was a delightful dish. Again, the ingredients are of the highest quality and taste amazing! Prices are not a bargain, but they reflect the quality of the food. The portion size makes you feel satisfied for the price. I live around the corner. They were big cuts, but just rather plain. The service ordering was good, i asked if they could add yuzu flavoring, but said couldnt. And explained that ponzu was similar which cost extra.
