Calzone chicken bacon
Divya R.

Decent place, went for quick lunch, service was good. Food was fresh and good. Had few choices for me. Ordered Chicken calzone - it was big and yummy and had the leftover too. Just wished that they were flexible to sub bacon with chix. Overall good experience.

While visiting The Grove last week, I decided to order from Sauce on the Side, one of my favorite spots in the area. This was probably my third or fourth time enjoying their food, and once again, they did not disappoint. Given how consistently busy this location is--a sign of just how popular and well-loved it is--I've learned to place my order ahead of time online. This helps avoid the wait, and the process is always smooth and efficient. When I arrived, there were a few other guests waiting for their orders, but the staff kept things moving. The gentleman at the register greeted me right away with a warm, friendly attitude, and my food was ready exactly on time. The atmosphere at this location is always a highlight. They offer plenty of seating options--whether you're dining solo, with friends, or as part of a larger group--and the vibe is relaxed and welcoming. The décor and overall scenery of The Grove neighborhood only add to the experience, making it a great place to stop for a meal. As for the food: absolutely amazing, as it always is. Even though I live about 15 minutes away, my order was still piping hot by the time I sat down to enjoy it at home. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. You can tell this team takes pride in what they serve. Sauce on the Side continues to be one of my go-to spots in St. Louis. Whether I'm craving a calzone, salad, or just something consistently delicious, I know I can count on them. I'll definitely be back again soon!

The calzone place of all calzones with local soda and even with good salads. Casual dining but worth a stop because nobody else dos calzones this well

Hot Mother Clucker

I got the Hot Mother Clucker - not too spicy at all but VERY garlicky, and hopefully you like blue cheese! It was a good calzone, just had some strong flavors! I definitely want to try the pesto calzone next time.

Holy yum!!!! Ordered the bulls eye and the duke. They all come with unique side sauces to match each calzone. Both were delicious, our favorite was for sure the bulls eye with french onion aioli. The service was fast and the employees were all super friendly. Lovely location as well near tons of restaurants and bars.

Sauce on the Side always hits the spot when family or friends are visiting me in the Grove. Their menu of calzones and salads have so many options, and none have ever let me down. High quality ingredients at a reasonable price, and even when it's busy your order comes out quick. I know they're the basic choices, but their Meat Me in St. Louie calzone and Caesar Salad are both great go-to's for me. The rotating calzone of the month is always interesting, this month's is the Mayflower, and the Thanksgiving themed ingredients all worked together well. Love the "Trans joy" mural painted on the wall outside, as well as all the interior artwork.

Tried Sauce on the Side for the first time during a lunch break from school with friends, and it definitely lived up to the hype! I got The Costanza and it was absolutely delicious and super filling. I think I liked it even more than pizza! The crust was perfectly baked and the ingredients tasted fresh. It was a fun, satisfying lunch spot, and I'll definitely be back to try more calzones!

Always stellar customer service with a quality product to match. My favorite is the Duke! And the smokehouse ranch salad. I don't know what they put in that salad dressing, but give me 14 of them right now (IYKYK!). This is always my cheat meal.

This restaurant specials in Calzones with........yep, you guessed it, sauce on the side. They do not have much on the menu outside of calzones, salads and bite sides. They also have local sodas, beer and wine to wash your food down. Be on the lookout for their special calzone. You can get one of their signature calzones or you can build your own. They have a large dining area that is very clean and patio seating on the sidewalk in the front and side of the building. The staff there was friendly and courteous. There is metered street parking available in front of the restaurant and within a reasonable walking distance. Avoid the urge to park in the adjacent neighborhood because you may get ticketed. I ordered the special calzone, the Hot Honey Bird. It took about 15 minutes for me to get my food. It was very fresh. It was pretty good and the calzone was stuffed. I could not eat it by hand and had to use a knife and fork. The sauce on the side made it that much better.Surprisingly, the calzone filled me up. I could barely finish it. I almost got a side. I am glad that I didn't. This is a nice small local calzone restaurant. I enjoyed my meal here and I am sure that you will too.

From Chicago, my daughter took me here for dinner. I thought I knew what calzones were... until today! I ordered the Fatty B (5/5). The crust is super flaky and good! It had a different kind of cheese than I'm used to but the sausage and pepperoni were tasty. And it was very filling! You get a dip with your choice of calzone. My daughter got the garlic butter sauce and it was good. I got the spicy red sauce and I thought it might be too spicy, but it wasn't, quite good. They also have an interesting selection of fountain drinks--root beer, lemon lime, and black cherry : ) This is a cool place with great ambiance (5/5). Definitely worth trying. Highly recommended!

I am definitely a girl who loves her Italian food. However, I am particular. Sauce on the side has yet to let me down on the Calzone, I normally get the vegan pepperoni and spinach, and it delicious . If you are around do check them out. Plus they are extremely budget friendly and did I mention reward points!

Large Caesar Salad

Some of the best restaurant cuisine I have had in a while. My eight month pregnant wife crushed the calzone and my Caesar salad was top notch. Cool place and everyone was friendly with basically three tiers of seated locations. We also enjoyed the fact they had ciders and craft cocktails to sip on while waiting for our meal. The only slight knock on the ambiance was the random fact where we sat the GM ended up having an interview halfway through our meal - so that was a bit unique!!

A casual vibe, great place for beer and a group happy hour…read more Every time I come here I am amazed at how much fun it is and what a great draft selection they have. Walk in and there are plenty of tables, a couple of gathering areas, standing room narrow tables, an outdoor area, and a room off to the side. I went for the Logboat Dark Matter which I have had before in a can and wanted to try on draft. I enjoyed it very much. You know what is great?! Since they don't have food, you can bring it in yourself. Both times our group has met up here Katie's Pizza is the choice and its in the same parking lot. You can't go wrong with Katie's. Bartender is on the ball and friendly, TV's all around, not too loud so you can talk. Wednesday nights they have Trivia and I stayed for the first round, it was very current for the current event category. Get a pizza from Katie's, go here, have a beer, have fun!

There are restaurants you remember because of the food, and there are places you remember because…read morethey simply feel good to be in. Gallery Pub definitely falls into the second category. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and feels like the kind of neighborhood place where friends gather after work or meet up on a weekend afternoon. It has personality, and I genuinely wanted to love it. The cocktails got us off to a great start. My gin and tonic was clean, crisp, and well balanced with quality tonic. Ordering is done at the counter, and while the bartender simply called out, "Here you go!" when our drinks were ready, that's clearly just how they keep things moving without running all over the restaurant. We ordered three calzones and a cup of roasted red pepper soup. The soup was tasty, and the calzone dough was excellent--hot, chewy, yeasty, and exactly what a pizza crust should be. Here's where I think they missed an opportunity. The standard calzone comes with three fillings. Looking over all the delicious options, we wanted to pay extra to add a fourth ingredient, but were told that wasn't possible because of the size. As someone who was literally trying to spend more money, that was confusing. The bigger issue was that the fillings themselves were pretty sparse. The flavors were there, but the quantity just wasn't. The bread ended up carrying the meal instead of the ingredients inside. A more generously filled calzone would have completely changed the experience. When we finished, we all had the same reaction: "That was good." Unfortunately, none of us said, "We have to come back." That's the disappointing part because Gallery Pub has everything else going for it. The atmosphere is one of its greatest strengths, and it's the kind of place you want to root for. I just wish the food had been as memorable as the space itself. I hope they reconsider being a little more generous with the fillings and embrace customers who want to customize their orders. Sometimes it's the small things that turn a nice neighborhood pub into someone's favorite neighborhood pub.

I enjoyed that quiet space for a bit and the afternoon air after the walk from Cortex made the wait feel intentional rather than inconvenient. Comfortable seating out here and the light breeze with the afternoon light was nice as I cranked out a few Yelp reviews before I spotted other customers going inside. After setting up at the huge table in the corner, I stepped up to the bar where I was warmly greeted. I chose their Fish Fry, which they call a light lager. It was in a huge mug and that worked out just fine for me as it lasted a while. Oh, and some chicken wings. These were tasty buggers. Served quite hot with a rub that was more spice than sauce. Very yummy and the two sauces were perfect accompaniment. Absolutely delicious. Not long after, friends arrived and I shifted from solo laptop time to conversation. It's nice to see how Rockwell handles the flow of customers. Casual, attentive, friendly. Just right for a great brewpub and a great time. They do have a parking lot. It was just an easy experience today and a great spot for a meetup or hanging out on your own. [Round number review 400 of 2026 - 498 in Missouri - 25583 overall]

Rockwell Beer Company earns the association honestly. I walk in wary (I don't drink beer, don't like it, and an industrial brewery hugging a busy four-lane street is not my native habitat), I get the sense I need to eat in the corner so people don't discover the non-beer drinker; however, I walked out humming. The reason is the food, sourced through Street Food by Brasas. This is not brewery food that apologizes for itself. Pretzels, wings, both worth ordering again. The pizzas (barbecue, pepperoni) land in that rare category of elevated bar snack. I'd happily return for a table's worth. It's order at the window food service, which is fine for their vibe, but it keeps the environment to a self-service lower warmth environment. We sat outside, which is nice IF you can find some shade on a hot summer evening. 3.9 out of 5 stars The atmosphere isn't built for me, but the kitchen is good enough that I'd get over it to spend an evening with my beer-drinking friends. What would push this higher: a space that compels me the way the plates do.
