High, Low booth and bar seating. Clean. Average restrooms. Good service but not happy to be working. Unknown on wifi. Moderate prices. A Little loud with the drinkers at the bar. Came here with a large group of 12. Service was really great, they managed our group masterfully. I tried their Cab Sauvignon and liked it. It was a darker one, very drinkable. Next I had the rainbow rodeo IPA and the bonfire brown ale. Both very good beers, I'd recommend the brown ale to anyone! Their food was delicious as well. Great service and good food, but it's kind of sad to be out on a Saturday night and there are only a few people in the restaurant. Maybe there are more people when the college students are in town. Beer was meh. Not much in the way of a good IPA, so if that's what you're looking for, go elsewhere. read more

Last time I was home this was under a different name but when speaking with the beertender, they recently took over the location and actually still had some of the beers from the previous brewery. They have two locations (or they did when we were there), the Kalamazoo location and then of course, Saugatuck. The beertender was friendly and offered to let us try any beer we wanted but of course, Ben went with the flight. We have been to the Saugatuck location a few years ago and we were excited to give this spot a try. We came specifically for their tag, as they are closing shop and moving to a different location. They were also in our hop passport so I decided to get a seltzer and he ordered a brown. They have a great food menu, too. One of my favorite beers from Saugatuck is the Blueberry Lemon Shandy. Thursday, March 21 @ 6:30PM Had great service up to the moment we received our food. Then our waitress went AWOL. Took forever to get a leftover container, took forever to get our bill, took forever for her to return to cash us out. I ended up getting up myself and looking for help. I didn't really like anything about this place. We were in town for a hockey game and were brewery hopping. The atmosphere was lacking. There was music playing but it wasn't coming in so it was all static which apparently didn't bother anyone working there. You could clearly hear the music coming from the kitchen over top of it which was even more irritating. There were two tvs but they just had the beer menus on them so no music no tvs and nothing to really look at. The place looks like maybe it used to be a car dealership because it is all glass walls. It's winter and it was very cold in there. It felt like there was air conditioning blowing. Nice place, there's parking on the side and in front, they have very nice sandwiches and delicious appetizers, and unlike other breweries they have some selections of mixed drinks with their whiskey as well as sodas including root beers. Their French fries were freshly made and simply delicious, two of us ordered the chicken shawarma and it was really good, we will go back. The hostess was very kind and accommodated my large group prickly. The outdoor seating looked fun and perfect for a nice cold beer. The establishment is clean. The waitstaff are nice and really help you find a beer that is delicious, and you can sample as much as possible. TC Cherry Goat Cheese Bread- a five star item! I almost ordered a second helping because it was mouth watering my food. The cherries are a good tart constant with the sweet of the maple bacon glaze. Bacon & Brussels- a simple yet delicious appetizer Chicken Boneless Wings- come with hearty chunks of carrots and seem to give bigger portions than expected! Sirloin Steak Bites- the gravy is not too salty and is an interesting way to enjoy steak, the table really liked them. The mushroom sauce is not overpowering. Smoked Chicken Stack- moist chicken, seasoned to perfection with the right amount of kick from the Beer-B-Que. Haystack Burger- NOT A JOKE IT IS SPICY! The person eating it was sweating bullets and we had to get him a glass of milk. Jk in all seriousness I tasted it and it is a full younger experience of spicy, I enjoyed it. It is rather greasy so get a lot of napkins! Steak & Artichoke Salad- hearty pieces of steak Margherita Pizza- a fan favorite among the regulars! Garlic Dill Pickle- a complete letdown. As a raving pickle lover I had high expectations, but the lack of flavor and texture had me only eat one slice before attempting to share it with the table. Great idea! It just needs some flavor. Table for 6 seated right away at 6 on a Thursday night. I liked that the drink and food menus were both unique and that it wasn't just typical pub food. I got a blackberry mimosa. It was good, but not great. I also got fish and chips- I probably wouldn't get them there again. We did get the brussels sprouts appetizer, and those were very good. It was a decent meal, but nothing that I would crave or get me wanting to come back at this point. read more

Visited here for a round of drinks during the week and had a great time! It was pretty slow when we came in, and our party of 8 stopped by the bar to try a few different beers on tap. Most of us ended up doing a flight since it was our first time here. The beers were so delicious and flavorful, and was a great reminder of why I love local breweries! Our bartender was very helpful, friendly, and just went above and beyond to help us. The inside of the brewery is very inviting and an enjoyable atmosphere to be in. I'm surprised this place doesn't have a higher rating! The beer is delicious and we will for sure come back. They're family friendly, the service is great, and they were open on Christmas Eve. They offer growlers at reasonable prices. Be sure to pick at least one up, because their beer is too good not to bring some home with you. We tried the Neapolitan Milk Stout, Maggie's Irish Ale, and the Peanut Butter Porter. All were a delight. They have lemonade for kids they can put in kids cups, and one of their TVs was playing Harry Potter. Which basically meant our 6 year old's dreams came true. Service was prompt and friendly. Nobody side eyed the family with a crying baby, but there were plenty of people without kids having a great time too. It's the kind of place where everyone is welcome to enjoy some incredible quality beer. There's food too. I came in during the afternoon mid week and it was really slow. Service was decent and the beers were good. I didn't order food because nothing seemed overly appealing on the menu and the prices were high which is to be expected from a brewery kitchen. Beer prices were reasonable but I missed happy hour by a half hour. $2 off pints tier 1 and 2 during happy hour after 3pm. The beers were good by themselves, but they also look like they would pair well together. For instance mixing a vanilla Porter with a peanut butter Porter. Or vanilla and cranberry? Idk. May be pretty good. I'd definitely come back but would be worried about being understaffed if it was busier as service could get slower. read more

Enjoyed a lovely relaxing early dinner tonight on the heated patio. Poutine called my name... hubby got a burger with mushrooms and haystack onions. The burger was cooked to order, mid-rare, and was served with seasoned potato chips. The poutine was a generous serving of crispy fries with white cheese curds, house smoked pulled pork, and pork dripping gravy. A bit salty for my personal taste (have been low-salt for a few years) but I ate the whole thing. Sampled three different beers and they all had great character. Will definitely go back. read more

It's our first time here since the new pub launched. The food was very good and the beer flight was nice too. Service was painfully slow, but it looks like only one server for the whole restaurant. Outdoor seating is available but has metal chairs and no shade (ouch) I think they need to rethink that before folks will sit outside. We were not super impressed at all with the food or drinks. They did not have a really good selection of craft beers or ciders. Plus the dill pickle pizza we ordered had barely any toppings on it at all with about 3 inches of crust all around it - very disappointing. So we showed it to our server and the manager took it off our bill which was the right thing to do. The cauliflower bites had way too much cayenne pepper on them so not the best either but we did manage to eat some of them. read more

This place is very good. My wife and I visited the old location a couple years ago before they moved downtown. We had a poor experience at Bells so we decided to come and try out Saugatucks new location. We were not disappointed. We were seated immediately, it was comfortable, not too loud, and the service was excellent. I ordered a flight to try a variety of their beers as it's been a while, and I was very pleased with all of them. None of them were bad or undrinkable, and in fact were very quite good. My wife got the cider and was very happy with it. We ordered food which came out hot and tasty. This is one of the few places were for the cost, it felt reasonable for what we got. The food was good, the beer was good, and the service was excellent. We highly recommended. The only sad part was we forgot our to go box with fish and chips, I guess we'll have to return again to get more! read more

The Kung Pao Cauliflower was pretty bland. My husband got the Cali Ruben and said the coleslaw lacked flavor. I ordered the Olive Smashburger which also was pretty bland. About half way through the burger I bit down on something hard and almost cracked a tooth. I spit out my food only to find half of a very dried up old olive. This happened right when our server walked up to see if we needed anything. He helped me to identify it as an olive but wasn't the least bit phased by the finding. This place seems under appreciated. I thought the hazy IPA and milkshake on nitro was delicious. We got the hog wings, steak tips, cuban and poutine. I thought the steak tips could have been a dinner by itself - just needs to be paired with a carb and vegetable. The hog wings are much the same. They could have used a side of sauce to dip in; the sauce is pretty good, not too messy - the maple isn't overpowering. The cuban is good..maybe one of the top 3 Cubans in the Kalamazoo area. I would have preferred more of a crunch with the bread. But still, delicious. The poutine was good. It was our first time having poutine, and it didn't disappoint. read more

Great place for everyone! Servers were friendly and fast, Patrick is especially awesome. The flights are amazing and great prices to try different drafts. I am a vegetarian that tried the sweet potato burger--yum! The food was fresh, portions are very giving & now we have dinner as well. My husband had the Beer Cheese Burger and loved it. Bring Fido website said they were dog friendly. We are on vacation and drove 2 hours out of the way to try their brews. Informed dogs were not even allowed on outside patio. Left without beer and kept our cash. Shame in this day and age you can't bring along a well behaved pup. Even in Indiana we have a lot of places that allow outdoor seating. Most breweries and wineries let dogs inside too. One star for being unwelcoming. read more

The service was abysmal, the food was depressing. This place is a definite must miss. We sat at the bar this evening and the bartender was super anxious to get our order. Once he had our order, we were never checked on again by any of the other bartenders in the place. We had empty glasses, dirty plates, and empty condiments. Did anyone care, nope!! I have been in only a few times since Sagatuck took over what was previously Gonzo's and have been more disappointed with every trip. Kalamazoo has a lot of breweries, but Gonzo's was always able to stand out on the merits of their food, which was great. The first strike came when the chili was replaced with a red pepper soup; it's perfectly fine, but the Chili was one of my favorite items at any restaurant in the area. The fries have also been altered for the worse and the menu has undergone other changes, but it's just not the same and it all feels very generic. The beers are fine, probably on the lower end of Kalamazoo breweries. The two stars here are deserved only because of the Smoked Chicken Stack sandwich; it remains unquestionably great and if it were altered or removed from the menu I would probably never step food in here again. read more

Looking to go to Gonzo but found out they were bought out by Saugatuck Brewing. They still have the Gonzo recipes and have their beers on tap. Jordan was a great bartender and got us the new 2019 beer passport. Gave us history on the buy out and how Saugatuck Brewing respected the staff and how well the transition was going.
