I had the opportunity to visit on Sunday, September 14th. Garden City Center's historic gazebo green transforms into a vibrant, open-air Farmers Market. The Farmers Market is every Sunday from May 18 through September 28 from 10 AM to 2 PM. I wandered and checked out the local vendors. There were a great variety of them. I purchased a really cute coaster from The Book Emporium RI. The Book Emporium RI sells books that are wrapped and you have a blind date with a book. I also purchased a lavender sachet from 15 Lavender Place. I spoke with the owner and she told me all of the lavender is lovingly home-grown and hand-harvested, ensuring the highest quality and care go into every product. There were soothing lavender eye pillows, relaxing neck wraps, sprays, and bundles of dried lavender. I also went to Fully Rooted to purchase two bottles of freshly pressed juices-Watermelon Slice and Golden Greens. There were also local food trucks, farm booths, and local makers. The Garden City Center Farmers Market is a market for everyone. Either if you just want to stop for coffee, get produce for the week, flowers, dog treats, see alpacas, and so much more.

The mother and daughter duo who served us were long time employees of the business. I was told that they had three generations of their family work as front of house staff there. Most of the employees were there for the long haul, a sign if thoughtful and caring ownership. A foreshadowing to when I met the owner later. We ordered the crab rangoon and our server mentioned she would send out a scallion pancake and some salt and pepper spicy wings for us to try. We didn't have to wait too long for the food to arrive. The appetizers all looked beautiful and we couldn't wait to try them. The rangoon were delicious. Creamy, a nice proportion of kani with a hint of onion in the background. What I really liked about them was the purse shape. The fried edges had the kind of crispiness that shattered when you bit into it. The scallion pancakes were flaky and tasty. The wings were a good kind of heat, some spice but it never overwhelmed. The banana peppers added a little acidity that took it over the top. And when we thought that was all, two more dishes came out! The Islander fried rice and the Peking Beef. Both were great but my favorite of the two was the beef. The beef was so tender, the sauce was savory, meaty and loaded with veggies like baby bok choy, snow peas and baby corn. At this point, Simon the owner came by and spoke to our table. I had so many questions for him and he was kind enough to answer all of them. I couldn't thank him enough for his kindness and generosity. He was genuinely so sweet. He even sent us home with another order of rangoon and the house wings. I hadn't been to many restaurants in this part of Warwick but I highly recommend you make the trip to come and dine here. The…read morevendors we encountered include two bakers (breads, pastry, foccia, etc) three sweets vendors (cookies, vegan cupcakes and kraffles) two local farms selling meat and eggs, a book and associated items seller, jewelry, soy candles, loose teas, spices, t-shirts, sweatshirts, personalized photo magnets, honey and more. Located in an unoccupied storefront there is plenty of space and it was almost full of vendors. The market was well attended during our visit around 11:30 with lines cueing up at some of the vendor tables. I did not see any produce vendors, and I suppose there is not much fresh veg growing in RI in February. Many of the vendors have socials accounts, websites and business cards. Definitely stop by and see if there is anything of interest. We found several vendors that would make good resources for gift giving in the future. The mall is doing well with most storefronts occupied. Rocky Point chowder house is to be opened in the food court. I look forward to that. Plenty of parking. Public restrooms near the food court and a nursing lounge near the middle of the mall.

Family Day Out Review…read more We had such a great day at Warwick Mall! It was energetic, fun, and the perfect place for a family outing. One of the highlights was getting my daughter's ears pierced at Claire's. The staff there were amazing--patient, kind, and made her feel totally comfortable. It was such a special moment, and they did a great job. We then got a treat from Pinkberry and Auntie Anne's both were delicious and definitely kid-approved. We ended our visit with a ride on the carousel, which my 8-year-old absolutely loved. The whole experience had great vibes, lots to do, and kept us active the entire time. Warwick Mall made our day easy, fun, and full of memories. We'll definitely be back!

But at the Providence Place mall location there is literally NOBODY behind the counter at all. It looks like 15* people are waiting for their orders.There is nobody behind the counter to even ask.... Somebody comes out from the back every 10 mins or so to give out an order but then they run right in the back!! I ordered 3 Kong dogs (cheese only) about 20 or so minutes ago. This is ridiculous. I don't know if I would be back. 5 stars for the sweet potato mozzarella only corn dog. 1 star for the horrible set up they have in place. Paid over $19 for two hot dogs on a stick…read more Waited....waited...waited....waited...the crowd around me slowly disappears...waited some more...25 total minutes have passed...many other people have ordered and left with their food, so I walk up and ask about my order.."oh... it'll be just a few more minutes "...waited...waited...waited some more...asked to speak with manager..."I can have your order ready in 5or6 more minutes"...SERIOUSLY??? Turns out they skipped my order and the front crew didn't even once think to check on it as I stood three feet in front of them the whole time with eventually no other customers around. All the other food I bought for my daughter and I from another place in the food court is now cold. Manager is unapologetic. I ask if he can give us a couple of water bottles to make good for the now 35 minutes we've been waiting for our food. After trying to dodge the water request with all of his might for a few minutes, he reluctantly says he will only give me one. It took a total of 40 minutes to get two dogs, one of which was blackened/burnt and the other undercooked with gooey dough and slimy hotdog inside. It wouldn't have been a big deal if the manager was even the slightest bit apologetic. What a jerk! We're definitely not returning to waste our money on this rip off of a hot dog stand again.
