The Savage burger is one of the best burgers I've ever had. My wife's French Dip was superb! We kept trading back and forth. The service is exceptional. The country ambiance is what you'd expect in this old mining town. Well worth the drive.

Found this new Grill spot that just opened in Virginia City . And it's right on the Main Street with all the shops . It has a fair amount of seating and service was excellent . The decorations really fit in with the style of the town . The food was soo good!! Flavorful and giant portions . My favorite were the fries, soo yummy. Definitely a good spot if you're hungry .

Best place in Virginia City to have lunch! David and his wife were so welcoming. Food is also amazing! Their sidewinder fries are the best in town.

The staff are very friendly and helpful from the moment you walk in the door. The place was very clean also. I ordered the Classic Reuben with cole slaw. There is a small upcharge for sides other than fries. The Reuben was the BEST i have ever had. That includes the famous delis in New York city . However, the cole slaw was not very good. I told our server and he offered me something else , which I appreciated . I definitely recommend this restaurant when your visiting Virginia City. You won't be dissapointed.

We weren't our…read moreusual party of six; instead, simply a party of four as a result we were sat rather quickly. The decor definitely fit the name, and the staff passed the vibe check. Greeted immediately and sat at a sizable table, I noticed plenty of seating availability; however, space was rather tight with regard to table placement. We found the menu to be extensive and combed through the plethora of choices before landing on our final decisions. Always eager to try new things, I noticed there were quite a few specialty cocktails, including spiked milkshakes. I opted for the Vanilla Kahlua, and I would do it all over again! The milkshake was blended to perfection, smooth with a little razzle-dazzle you didn't know you needed. The kids opted for chocolate milkshakes they loved and rated 10/10. Very much like our other dining experiences, the kids settled on chicken tenders and fries while we, on the other hand, chose to explore our options. We started off with chilli cheese fries along with spinach and artichoke dip served with house-made tortilla chips. The portions for both appetizers were well-sized and delicious. We managed to get quite the cheese pull with the chilli cheese fries, and the house-made tortilla chips were most definitely worth writing home about; they were perfectly sized, light, and airy with an excellent amount of crisp that added texture to the flavorsome spinach and artichoke dip. For our entrees, he ordered the bacon egg and cheese burger with fries; there was an option for a turkey Reuben; however, I'm not a fan of sauerkraut, so I politely requested a turkey Rachel, and although it wasn't an option on the menu, they obliged much to my heart's delight! It's the little things Of course, the food did not disappoint! My sandwich was toasted impeccably with the right amount of butter melted, offering a decadent crisp that merged nicely with fillings making up my sandwich. Truthfully, I was beyond impressed with the aesthetic of the establishment, the services provided, and how flavorful the food was. The staff was welcoming, knowledgeable, and engaging, which made our experience even more memorable, so much so that we eagerly anticipate our next visit.

We were lucky to get the most fresh, warm, crisp chips and salsa! Their salsa was well blended and paired nicely with the fresh guac. Their salsa little blue pot was such a treat. Filled with rice, pinto beans and your choice of meat, I chose steak, and paired with some tortillas, you have yourself your own personal taco station! I loved how fresh all of the food was. Great location at the end of town, easy parking either in the lot or on the Main Street, the inside is perfectly decorated, cozy and inviting, along with all of the staff.

Seriously I have been ordering this plate for probably a decade now, whether it's on Sunday when I'm leaving VC or now on a Thursday night. This go to dish reminds me of the crispy crunchy fried chicken my mom would make, on all days, Sunday. Along with mashed potatoes and gravy. The plate comes with corn and cole slaw, but not a fan of slaw in general I opt for extra taters and gravy. Service is always great and friendly. Depending on your visit, if you come during an event in town, you should make reservations. Rio is that popular. But tonight, on a quiet Thursday night before the crowd arrives this weekend, two of us had no problems walking in and being seated immediately. Rio does offer some delicious looking tacos, enchiladas and burritos. As well as salads and some hot sandwiches. Rio also offers 12 different margaritas flavors to accompany your Mexican cuisine, as well as a full bar. They have their own parking lot. In VC that's gold. And there's limited street parking.

We think there may have been some recent movements by the owners, and for the purposes of this review, I'll go with this Yelp entry the matches the pictures to what we experienced. Today was a quiet post-New Years day and Gayle wanted to dine someplace besides the Red Dog Saloon (our "usual"). The Canvas Cafe (or whatever it's called now) was just a block or so down C street and open. The dining room was small, cute, inviting, and warm. It was also a "one man show" today as one guy was working both the kitchen and the dining room (and very well). I especially appreciate a really busy guy who maintained a relatively high service level, with a smile and a generous side of patience. We all ordered sandwiches, including French Dip for Gayle, Smash Burger for Darling Granddaughter, and a grilled Chicken Pesto for me. Everything was delicious, with my only regret being that I should have ordered the impressive side salad that Gayle chose. A small bag of chips really didn't do the sandwich justice. I would have also preferred a beer, but there was no alcohol served today, and my bottomless glass of lemonade was more than just fine. Gayle and I agreed that we'd love to come back in whatever main place or annex. It's a fair drive back to Genoa from VC, and we were happy to head down the hill full and happy.
