This is probably one of my favorite pizza spots in Atlanta! Their Cajun pizza is the BEST thing I've had on their menu. If you like seafood, that's a great pizza to try. Savage in Avondale has been our go-to pizza for years - even though we live less than 2 blocks from another pizza place. Its that good. The pizza is always delicious and arrives hot to our house in the time that they tell us when we order for delivery. Inside dining has always been great as well - plenty of parking, clean and the staff are always friendly and attentive. While there is no shortage of pizza places in the area, a consistently great pizza place is a rarity and I'm so glad we found this one. read more

Friendly service + quality 'za + Alon's cake = heaven on Earth. Or, at least, in Avondale Estates. My first trip to this neck of the woods and I am blown away by the cuteness. Um, hello little Tudor shopping center! Look how precious you are! So while Savage isn't in that little area (just behind it), it keeps up a proper theme with it's comic book prints on the wall and action figures spread throughout. Colorful, laidback, fun for all ages: just what a pizza spot should be. Service was quick, no frills and the food was quality: better than the pizza I ate as a kid in the burbs, that's for sure. While I only live a few blocks from the original in L5P, visiting this location just made me fall a little bit more in love with Savage as a whole: they're good people. I'm sold! Had a lovely late lunch with Kathleen M. here and was pleasantly surprised. The first thing I noticed was the COMIC BOOK theme ;) You can't miss it. It's everywhere but tastefully done! I have wasted years by choosing lesser tier pizza joints around Decatur because I thought this place only had booths/tables for seating and was kid focused. I was wrong. I was able to grab a seat at the bar, order a beer, look over the menu and take my time choosing and waiting for the food. Everything coming out of the oven looked good. I want to try the subs for sure. I just got a small extra cheese, pepperoni, and roasted garlic to go. The pizza was great. It hit the spot and really had nothing to complain about. I meant to get the spicy red sauce but forgot to ask for it, but the regular red sauce was totally fine. compliments the hella cheese. Service was great. Every employee seemed chill, and was willing to help, like, they noticed if I was near the end of my beer and stuff without being pesky either. I'm giving a 5 because not only was it better than I expected, but way better than the other places nearby I've gone for a beer and slice. A tv for the bar would make this place a standard, but for a good slice of pie and some beer, its hard to beat. read more

I loved this place before I took a bite of pizza. If you're any fan of comic book characters, you'll have a constant smile at the large image of Spider Man or the silver surfer on the wall, or the f'n cool counter with several comic book character cards glued down and topped with a glass finish. Beyond the comics and friendly staff, I showed up for a to go order of a small sav-veg pizza. The traditional cut small pizza, at just over $10, was 4 slices of a whole wheat crust, peppers, onions, broccoli, cheese, sun dried tomatoes, and an optional serving of Parmesan cheese/pepper flakes. Good flavor, well done and since it's closer than my favorite Pizza place (Hearthstone), it'll likely get more service out off me. The only downsides might be the price, where a large pizza can easily pass 20 bucks, but you get what you pay for. Wait times are usually no more than 10 minutes, and you can either watch the cooks toss dough, get lost in the comics, or watch the characters who are waiting on their pizza (like the guy who was insistent on his Chicago cut (I Don't even know what a Chicago cut is!)) will not be disappointed in this place, and it's a good addition to the area. read more

I love Marvel Comics. My husband thinks I am crazy and quite possibly a larger comic book character need than him...well, I am...but with the recent uptick in Marvel movies, I can't help it. So I love Marvel Comics = I love the decor at Savage Pizza. The one thing I look for in a pizza place is their Greek salad. Don't ask why but I do. Mellow Mushroom has a great Greek salad. I see a serious decline in the quality of food and service. This is my second time driving from Loganville GA to get....what use to be one of my favorite places to get a cheese steaks sub and pizza. The first time they didn't have any steAk to make a cheese steak....offering no reason or concession...the second time the steak meat looked like fake steak. We've eaten at this location several times recently (COVID-19). They have limited number of seats and you can only eat outside. You pay for everything when you order at the counter and the staff limits their interaction with you. Now the food... it's always good and fresh. Made to order. We stick with the pizza so can't comment in calzones snd other items. The Greek salad is excellent and we share it - it's huge. We started eating at Savage in Little 5 Points years ago and we like this location better because parking is more readily available. read more

My first time at this location. I liked the comic book decor, though I'm not a comic book fan. The food was okay. My friend had a Greek salad and we both had individual small pizzas. I had the Mediterranean and my friend had a Cajun. Mine was just alright. Honestly it could have used a bit more seasoning but he really liked his. The service was sufficient. Sorry that's just the best word to describe it, since our server had a very flat affect...overall I guess I'm used to Mellow Mushroom and just like their pizza better. Go to Fellini's in Dec- Savage Pizza is horrible! Expensive, the crust has no flavor, they're stingy with the toppings, and the sauce has no taste. I would give a zero but I'm not allowed. The staff was not helpful when we called, they seemed kinda lost, and the driver was a bit rude. First and last time I order from this place. The pizza at QuikTrip is gourmet pizza compared to savage, and you can get it for $10 ($7.99 if you use their app) We paid over $50 for 3 pies and we didn't even finish them. They stayed in the fridge until we threw them away after 2 days. We ended up going to Fellini's to have something that's more edible. read more

I just got my food from Savage Pizza delivered through UberEats, and I will tell ya that this is some of the most broke pizza and lasagna I have ever ordered in my Life! I've been to Atlanta quite a few times but never tried Savage Pizza before. This time I finally got to try it and it did not disappoint!! The best part about the menu is that you can order a small 9" pizza so we ended up trying 5 different specialty pizzas! We got the tomato basil, mexican, no-brainer, cajun, and sav-veg. The tomato basil and mexican were our favorites!! The no-brainer was also great for a meat option! They have a build-your-own option so you can put whatever you want. There are so many different sauce options which is awesome! The breadsticks with marinara sauce also hit the spot! The customer service was quick and exceptional, especially considering the current covid situation. There are a few tables for outdoor dining too. We will definitely be back the next time we are in ATL! Highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for great quality pizza with lots of options for toppings! read more

How did this happen? I like pizza, like Savage, but since dropping in one lunch hour, I am hooked on their garlic knots. The sauce is finger lick-in' good, loads of excellent Parmesan cheese sprinkled all over the bread, the plate, the sauce. Service is friendly and prompt. I like the patio as well as the dining room. Good music. If you're in the dining room, look up. Interesting air flow equipment. Not your average duct work! Do take care entering and leaving the parking lot. Here's the weird thing. I am not a pizza fan. But about once a month I get the urge to have a pizza. This is the place that I go to for it. My main reason is that they have a wheat crust that is absolutely very tasty. Their ingredients appear to be fresh and the size of the pizza for what you pay, is quite reasonable. I had the Sav-Veg pizza. He had the Greek pizza. Both pizzas were delicious with generous toppings. The crusts were perfectly cooked. I dont usually eat pizza crust. I ate this crust. I found myself wondering why I had not been to Savage Pizza for many years. The seating was comfortable and spacious. The Marvel Comics theme was well done and included hard covered books for customers to browse. I'll be coming here on a more regular basis, since I pass here on my weekly visits to Dekalb Farmers Market. I forgot to check the health department score or the bathroom. I've lived in the area for a number of years. Savage use to be my go to place for pizza. Unfortunately I will have to find a new place to get a slice. The quality of the food has gone down. On numerous occasions with delivery or pickup the pizza seems to be soft or undone. The bottom crust is so wet. I usually stick to the Chicken Florentine so it's not a lot of toppings that making it soggy. I ordered two pizzas last week & they both were like this. I had the No Brainer & Chicken Florentine. I will give them a break for now. Hopefully they can get it together because I really use to really like them. read more

Score! In my never-ending quest to eat pizza worthy of my hometown (Chicago!) upbringing, I've sampled pie all over this town. While Savage is NOT a Chicago style pizza, it is delightful! We enjoyed the fast, friendly service, a decent beer selection and a Greek salad while we waited (short!) for the main event- the "No Brainer''. It arrived piping hot fresh from the oven and looking tasty. The crust was thin and extra crispy, with a standard issue bready edge. The sauce was tangy-spicy- not too sweet. The veggies were fresh- not over cooked. My favorite part, however, was the sausage. It was well-seasoned and tasty without overpowering or leaving a funky taste- a definite improvement over the sausage I've found on most pies in the area. I felt regular to good about Savage until I learned they deliver FOOD to my HOUSE so now I feel good to great! The only other places who come over here are either the Hut or Domino's and those both make me very sad. After a busy weekend of watching my husband do things around the house, we didn't feel like cooking today. We called Savage up and got a Cajun pizza, a Greek salad, and a piece of cake. All items arrived at their proper temperatures, and they were all deeeeelicious. I'm already contemplating calling up and asking if they'll just bring me a piece of this damn cake again. Maybe some garlic bread. The total was like $30 and that's about how much it costs for a shitty pizza to get driven to my house, too, so I'm not even upset about it.
