Food was great. Service was greater. Honestly we had a poor experience at first, but the shining star was the manager. After mentioning our issue to our waiter, within 15 seconds she came out and looked over our food, and not only found issues that we didn't see, but went on to replace a plate, and bring out additional meat and sides. She then came back and checked on us three additional times throughout the meal, making certain we had everything we needed and that everything was perfect. And finally, not without notice, the hostess was exceptional as well, nearly ecstatic as soon as we walked in the door. We went here for the first time last night and I was very impressed. We were seated in a timely manner and given waters immediately. Our drink orders and appetizers all came out quickly. The Appetizers were a good size and very tasty. I got the nacho appetizer as my meal. These were the best nachos I've ever had! There was a good proportion of everything and enough of everything. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals as well. The menu itself it not very expansive however both my friend who was dieting and myself who is gluten-free could find something to enjoy. It was a little pricey compared to some other similar places, however the flavors came through and made it worth it! Highly recommend! The tacos are really good. The drinks were the first good cocktails we found in Savannah. I drank the Watermelon Smash and my wife had the El Jefe margarita. Guac for the app. Nice portion size and tasty. Do not skip the Mexican corn! Must try it, so good! Finally, the Taquiza Board, you can't go wrong! 10 tacos with beef, chicken and pork prepared multiple ways. Such a great way to taste a variety. Can be good to share for those who can't do work on their own... only spending 5 days in town but I'm sneaking back here at least one more time whether the rest of my group wants to or not. Mediocre Mexican food in touristy Savannah. They were able to accommodate a table for 10 quite quickly. Service was decent but the food was average. The table ordered many different entrees off the menu including guacamole and corn as appetizers. Everyone was in agreement that the food could have been better. The ambiance of the restaurant was really nice. There was even a show with acrobats outside which was cool to see if you were dining outside. The location of the restaurant is perfect because it is situated on the more modern side of the riverwalk (Plant Riverside District). read more

If I could give this restaurant -1 star rating, I would . I'm traveling to Savannah from out of town with family. We waited 15 min on anyone to come and at least ask us for a drink order and no one ever came. I even flagged down the hostess and her only response was oh they are coming and didn't even grab anyone. It was so empty in there you would think we would be greeted immediately but absolutely not. We walked out and let the other hostess know that it was just unacceptable to say the least. Would never recommend, there are better and more authentic Mexican restaurants in the area and definitely better drink options in walking distance. Horrible customer service here. read more

This place is easy to miss, but definitely a place you don't want to miss. The guac is fresh and served with excellent house made chips and a whole pickled jalapeño! The Al pastor and Asada tacos were a tad greasy but very good. The Duck Mole was PHENOMENAL. The first time we went over the weekend the service was excellent and the second time it was so so. We stopped in, visiting Savannah. We work in hospitality and service, actually run restaurants. They were extremely slow to greet, Slow to seat, slow to serve or even take a beverage order. When they carded us they went on about how because my dog had chewed a corner of my license they normally wouldn't accept this. They also then asked my guest if instead of their valid ID they provide a US passport at which point I provided a copy of their resident card, and we stood up and left. When went down the street and I had no issue being served or having my ID questioned. I would give them 0 stars for poor service and poor management but it wasn't an option. read more

I ate here last night and it was absolutely amazing!!! Atmosphere: beautiful outdoor dining experience on the river. Service: impeccable. The servers were engaging and seemed excited to be there. Excited about serving customers. Food: this was several steps up from your average Tex-mex everything kind of soggy Mexican restaurant. These cooks are freaking amazing and know how to cook and plate that food. Seriously get the carne asada. Eat those hand made tortillas. Drink the mixed drinks because wow the one mixed drink with mezcal was delicious. The beans and guacamole were just wow. They served queso fresco on several of the dishes and it was just out of this world. Were the portions huge? No. But the quality was there and I'll pay $22 all day for the carne asada. I got violently ill within a few hours after eating here on 7/3/24 and it ruined my 4th of July. I was in bed with a fever/chills all day on vacation after being violently sick the entire night . My ribs and every muscle in my body is sore. This morning I was at urgent care and had to get nausea medication and went to another location to get an IV of fluids due to dehydration . This is my first experience with food poisoning and unfortunately my vacation is being cut short for dining experiences bc of this encounter.I can eat bland food for the rest of the trip . I did report it and things are being handled properly I do appreciate that but I can't imagine a child or elderly person dealing with the evening I had after dining here as a healthy 41 year old . I am grossed out that whatever was served to me had some type of bacteria in it to get me as violently ill as I was . I don't know if I will be back. There was 3 of us, and two of us had birthdays. The service WAS CRAPPY! Had some lady who didn't seem to know anything about anything. First, I asked for no salt on my margarita, but when she brought it, it had a TON of salt around the rim. For my second drink, I wanted a cheaper, more basic margarita, she didn't understand what a "regular margarita" was. She brought it to the table and it was so limey I couldn't drink it. I walked up to the bar and asked for a regular margarita. He made one and it was perfect. I don't know why she couldn't understand that. And that second margarita came out to the same price as their "house" margarita ($15 for a rocks glass margarita) Thirdly, she didn't even bring my friend's sweet tea (ordered with first drinks) until the meals were almost there (after the appetizer). Fourthly, both other parties in my group got the Brisket Birria Tacos. I almost got them as well, but I'm so glad I didn't! They were TERRIBLE! First of all, Birria is cheesy and saucy (usually a sauce comes to dip it in). There was NO cheese, NO sauce, and the meat was SUPER SALTY! Very plain and basic tacos that weren't even good! One friend asked for cheese to put on there, and the lady came back with the smallest queso ramekin. They still both sent them back. She said she would get the manager but then she never came back until the tickets came. She took off their tacos, but I got stuck with the cheese charge. I had just had enough and kept it on the ticket after pointing it out to her and her not understanding why I wanted it taken off. Now, I did get the Duck Molé, and it was actually really good! But just with everything that happened, it wasn't worth going there. read more

I had a hard time choosing between some of the tacos, so it was great when the waitress told me I could do a sampler! I tried the ones with pork, chicken, and ground beef.
