My kitchen sink was clogged for about 1 week since having a 75ft snake through a promotional…read moreplumbing service (not disclosing what company lol) did not work (it had stopped maybe 50ft in and while being retracted, lots of black sludge flew out). During that time, I had broken some copper fitting pipe parts underneath the sink so I did not put them back together to make sure it worked. Luckily, things happened for a reason so I bought new hard plastic pipes to replace everything but water was still slowly flowing out of my dual kitchen sink. I remembered the person who did the snake mentioned it might be time to get a new mainline pipe which meant breaking the walls and slab since I don't have a crawl space equating to 15-20K or an epoxy pipe lining to make it good as new again for 8K; I have no money for any of that so I googled "best ways to unclog a kitchen sink if 75ft snake fails" and was recommended hydro-jetting from AI. I then searched hydro-jetting Livermore and was recommended Diablo Hydro-Jetting immediately on my mobile phone where I was able to view both their website and Yelp reviews before calling 925-277-0200 on a Sunday evening. Fortunately, Jeff answered my call even while eating dinner who reassured me that he was 100% sure that my kitchen sink can be unclogged since they can blast it up to 500ft and if there were to be any complications that the competitive pricing comes with the drain inspection camera as needed. I truly appreciate Jeff's Team; Jose and Alex for taking on this difficult task. Jose was hydro-jetting my kitchen sink while communicating with Alex who was controlling the unit by the van. Initially, Jose and I feared that the black sludge would appear since pushing water with water and it was in fact what had happened where it was caught in a big metal container underneath the kitchen sink. Jose immediate told Alex to turn off the unit and requested to get the portable compact hydro-jet vac to clean out the container before resetting then restarting a 2nd time from the top with the vac on to catch everything as it goes. Then with some luck, we were able to hear the water flowing after it was unclogged, the sound of success! Jose then proceeded to check my cleanout area which was located outside of my house, opened it and made sure that the same sound we heard in the kitchen was heard there as well. And to ensure that my kitchen pipes were clean, Jose went ahead and did the hydro-jetting a couple more times just in case and even had Alex bring cleaning solutions to help wipe away some black sludge that flew to the side of the cabinet wall. The whole process took about 1hr and the invoice has a limited 90day service warranty guaranteeing against future clogs from reoccurring. This was the best investment I made highly recommended and I am very grateful for Jeff, Jose and Alex; they never upsold me anything and they truly are professionals in the field strictly hydro-jetting and nothing else, established in 1994 with over 32yrs of experience! I won't name their name but after fast inital reponse - nada. So I called my goto plumbers. We went out and bought a replacement water heater from Ferguson (check out my review for them - awesome). My wife and I dollied and manipulated all 137lbs of that bad boy into the garage. Edgar was my tech from Magnificent (He thought it was a "check" vs. "replace"). This could have been a disaster because we are now at New Year's Eve. They typically only do commercial water heater replacement but calls his boss, gets the gren light and because we are loyal customers, discounts the service cost. He tells me he can do it, calls to re-arrange some family plans and just makes it happen! At the end, he noticed a pipe with some carbon monoxide venting which he also fixed. We've used them on several different occasions and it's ALWAYS 5+ stars.

Three months ago I caught a leak in a drip line when I went searching for reasons for a high bill. I had a landscaper check the system as well. And I had checked under the house and all was fine. The bill settled down again. Then the water bill seemed to spike again in July when I was out of state for 24 of the 32 day cycle. I called the water company, they found a leak at city side and while they were at it replaced the meter with a new digital meter. The tech said that the leak wouldn't have been big enough to largely impact my bill. I went out of state again. This month when I got my statement it was double the previous (thought to be high) bill. We're talking about a $467 bill up from $164-$192 summer range. I called the water company again. The response is that the new digital meters are 100% accurate and that I had actually benefitted from an old, poorly functioning, most likely clogged, meter. It would have been nice if there had been a gradual uptick in the bill, but this was a 100% plus increase. When the tech came out he told me all of this and said that the state is under orders to change meters to digital within the next two years. People with old meters should beware! I still called Barnett Plumbing to do a general review of pipes, meter and faucets for the house, just to be sure that I was checking everything. Todd did the review and was kind enough to check in with the office. I was not charged for this call. Barnett Plumbing is maybe not the cheapest company out there, but my experience has been that they are ethical, have highly trained techs and do good work. I have used them in the past to fix a bad valve in a bathroom tub, install a new sink in the garage, replace the garbage disposal in the kitchen and install and/or change out exterior faucets on the house. The person who answered the phone was professional, patient, and courteous, even as I worked through my concerns and asked some repetitive questions. At no point did I detect any frustration or impatience, which I truly appreciated. Jazz was also able to schedule an appointment for the following day. Joe was assigned to provide my estimate. He arrived on time and had a great attitude from the start. He was patient and willing to listen to all of my concerns, answer my questions, and discuss different alternatives. Before leaving, he provided a detailed quote with different payment options, which made it easy to understand the choices available to me. I requested the consultation because I was experiencing water hammering when using multiple fixtures. Since diagnosing water hammering can involve a process of elimination to determine the underlying cause, I received different opinions and recommendations from the plumbers I consulted. Jazz recommended installing a new water hammer arrestor along with a washing machine box. One thing I especially appreciated about Joe's explanation was Jazz's no-frustration guarantee. As it was explained to me, if additional issues arose during the repair process, Jazz would address them at no additional cost. My primary hesitation with moving forward was that installing the new washing machine box could require cutting into the wall. I was advised that Jazz would replace the drywall, but I would need to hire someone else to finish the mudding and painting.
