Savon Appliances is wonderful. Not only does the owner, Marsha, sell quality used appliances at reasonable rates, but she backs up her products with stellar customer service. I bought a gas stove in June that developed a valve problem in November. She immediately sent her guys to check it out. After they determined that it needed a new part, they gave me a loaner stove, took the old one away to be repaired and then, when it was done, re-installed it, all for no charge. Delivery guy was on time for both pick-up and drop off, and was friendly and helpful too. He made sure I knew how to light all of the pilots, and showed me what to do in case they ever go out. My cat's hair had clogged up the ventilation on my refrigerator and killed the heater and their guy was able to come to me immediately and replace the heaters. I didn't know so much cat hair could accumulate down there but it sure can! Let that be a lesson to cat owners everywhere. They were so nice to me! She gave me her brother, Emmett's, phone number and we set up a day for Emmett and Sonny to come out to repair the oven. To say that the two of them were AMAZING would be a gross understatement. My fridge started breaking down and I really couldn't spend $1000 on a new one. A friend recommended Savon and I admit I was a bit skeptical! I walked in and Marsha warmly greeted me and gave me a full rundown of how refrigerators work, what might be wrong with mine, which ones are best etc. etc. She didn't give me the hard sell, she was knowledgeable and charming. She could tell I wasn't quite ready and she sent me on my way! A few days later I was ready, I went back, got a fridge for $300 and it was delivered the next day. We went in to shop for a used refrigerator after being referred by a friend. They have a great selection of used and super vintage which have been restored to mint condition. Bought a used GE refrigerator here last week. Dennis was extremely sweet and could not have been more helpful. He showed and described every fridge to me and, when I singled out one that had been put on hold for someone, he promised to call me by 5 PM to let me know if he still wanted it or not. At 5 PM on the DOT, Dennis called with "good news." :) I returned the next day to buy it (Dennis' niece took care of me. Her name escapes me at the moment, but she was very nice as well) and they delivered it (half an hour EARLY) two days later. $250 for a refurbished, sterilized and DELIVERED fridge. Amazing helpful place! They didn't try to sell me something I didn't need. Instead they coached me into correcting the problem myself. Now my problem is something else. My ice cubes won't freeze solid. I called them just now and they told me to get two thermometers then call them back in 2 or 3 days. If the temperature is not right in either the freezer or in the main part of the fridge, they will come and fix it. Notice, they won't go to a job unless the customer is unable to solve the problem after using their suggestion. I am glad that 3 people had referred me to this place. I can't explain how glad I am to find this place my washing machine stopped working it's a pretty old washing machine probably from the 80s it never gave me a problem before so I called a company from Craig's list and they wanted to charge me about 600 to fix so I thought I might as well buy a new one so I thought I will ask around and see if it's fixable so I contacted sav on appliance and I spoke to Marsha she was very honest and caring and told me it's worth fixing the washing machine these days are not as good as the old ones so they send out the repair guys and within a couple hours they fixed it under 200$ apparently it there was a sock stuck in there thank you for your great service I would highly recommend them thanks Marsha your a sweetheart read more

Add my name to the long list of fans of Savon Appliances and Marsha and her staff. My 7-10 year old washer was shaking so hard in the spin cycles and trying to escape the laundry closet that it had to be fixed or replaced. A serviceman told me it wasn't worth fixing -- modern machines are weren't worth the expense because they weren't made to last -- so I went looking for an older machine like my parents had for 40+ years. Many friends sent me to Savon to see Marsha who explained she can barely keep old washing machines in the store because so many people want to junk their newer machines. I was instructed to call and check in with Marsha 10am every day and if she had one, it would be mine. On the third day, she said she had a Maytag for me (probably from 1996), sent me pictures and I claimed it without seeing it in person. That's because everyone told me Marsha is the most honest, most decent person and would never sell anything she knew to be inferior. George and Jason delivered up 17 stairs, installed it, tried it out and left. They were awesome as well -- knowledgeable, nice, efficient, helpful. The machine works great. Feels so much sturdier, the laundry basket doesn't bounce all over the place, much quieter. Marsha made me feel very confident about my purchase and if something were to not work, there is a 90-day guarantee. My family and I are moving to a townhouse in the Glendale/Burbank area and needed to find a fridege that would better fit the space in the kitchen, since we were limited on space and the current fridge we have is way too big. My mother didn't want to buy a new fridge and asked if I could research stores that sell used appliances. I wasn't finding any places until I came upon the site of savon appliances. I checked the reviews here on yelp and given everybody's positive reviews I thought this place was perfect! My mother just wanted to visit the store and get an idea of prices. Unfortunately the whole experience there was pretty horrible. I am huge fan of vintage items so all the old school stoves and other items were pretty cool, the selection of fridges they had were decent. But a lot of the items didnt have pricing and there was no sales associate available to ask to help. I saw one of the repairmen from the back walk inside the store and was disappointed that he didnt try to help us or even informed the associates that we were there.Trying to stay positive we continued look around until we opened one of the fridges and the most disgusting smell came out. I understand these are used appliances but how are you selling items if they're not properly cleaned? After that my mother and I quickly left the store and decided to look at a home depot or pacific sales. read more

Can I give a negative one? If you look at my yelp reviews I have never given a bad review. Even when there has been companies that have disappointed me I don't give a bad review, until now. Back in 1999 I bought my first refrigerator from Sav-on Appliances Marsha was a gruff woman even back then, but I pride myself in being able to deal with all types of personalities. Many years later I bought another refrigerator. I've been doing business with Marsha from Sav-on for many many years. I've had problems through the years with the second refrigerator. Little by little Marsha would get more and more aggravated every time I had an issue. This last time she was downright rude. She kept trying to blame me that I didn't have the dials in the right place that's her go to blame the customer. Marcia is great when you're buying a refrigerator but God help you if you have a problem. she brought me a loaner that froze everything I had. When I called her and told her I was going to need a different refrigerator she said she'd get back later to me in the day and never did. She was infuriated when I finally called back and said this is a problem. She became rude & angry she told me that I was out of line asking me if I talk to my mother the way I was talking to her? I was definitely frustrated but I was not rude. This woman can't be more than five years older than me thanks for the complement Marsha. She was condescending she hung up on me several times. I finally called her back and said just return my refrigerator I will call the refrigerator repair company. I will say they've got some great vintage products. Probably better than any I've ever seen but she's not worth the problems that come with it. I understand dealing with the public every day for as many years as she has can get to a person. I think it's time to throw in the towel you're over the public and you're over your job. read more

This place is pure magic! They made my dreams come true with the most beautiful Wedgwood stove straight out of the 1950's! It looks brand new. There is an amazing collection to fit any budget. Very helpful delivering the new one and taking my nightmare old one away. Excellent customer service 100% customer satisfaction. Having tried without success to replace the springs that keep our vintage Wedgewood oven door closed (I couldn't even figure out how to access them!), I eventually called the pros to have it taken care of. By 7pm that door operated just as if the stove was new instead of its 80-year-old age. Both the original springs were broken, and the replacements are exactly like the original equipment. I can't boil water, but my wife cooks with this thing every day, so it's great to finally have the oven door close properly and not be wasting all that heat. Job well done, Savon! read more

I was not looking for a fancy fridge, just a solid used refrigerator for my apartment that I hope lasts about ten years. I'm a teacher but like to save money if I can. I had looked around on Craigslist and all over Los Angeles County for a quality used fridge. Some places had dirty and ones of questionable quality while others seemed not to know much about the fridges they were selling. I finally ended up at Savon during a Sunday just to look in the windows since it was closed, but Marsha was just opening up to get something and she let me in and told me what I should get and she would find one for me. There had been another time when I called and was told they didn't have much selection at the time and to wait until they got something better in. Marsha had one fixed up nicely for me; she told me what brands, years and type I should get. I trusted her and she sent me photos on my phone in a few days and I just approved and arranged for delivery, site unseen (except photos). Everything went as planned except I was told they would take less for cash than credit on the day it was delivered so I ran out to get cash quickly while they waited. ( I told you I'm cheap :) ) The fridge was great EXCEPT the freezer made a loud noise during the night it even woke me. I called Marsha and she told me to call back tomorrow if it still made the noise. It did and they worked around my schedule to come out as soon as possible and replaced the motor? fan? for free. The whole process took time and someone who is not as willing to take as much time to save money as I did can go to Savon for the best fridge for the best price AND service. I hope you can benefit from all the time and energy I spent finding a solid used refrigerator and go to Savon and be confident you made the right choice. I absolutely love the service I got from Marcia and the entire team here! I came in looking for a used dryer to replace the one in my home after three different visits from the gas company and a repair man to fix a gas leak. Within minutes Marcia and her team were able to explain to me what the problem likely was and that fixing it would require a short visit and a fraction of the cost the other three visitors had told me would be required. The Savon team was good for their word, send a repair man who came back two more times in the day to bring additional parts after I fussed a little bit; All beyond the original agreement we had made. The fee was completely reasonable and half the cost of a used dryer we could find in their store, on craigslist or anywhere else. And I didn't need to move my old dryer and add to the landfill issues! Marsha explained exactly what was going on, and why fixing it their way would be the best solution all around.
