ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! Whatever you do, do not order the Cod!! My Wife and I along with two other couples went to Savor this past Sat night. When we told the waiter the Cod was overcooked, rubbery, and did not taste good, he laughed!! When I spoke with the co-owner, she refused to take any action! I requested she remove the Cod dinners from our check and she flat out refused. We were at least expecting some desert or coffee......nothing!! The other entre's were mediocre at best. Needless to say, we will NOT be returning to Savor. And they had the audacity to include a 20% tip!!! read more

Went here on a Saturday night with two other couples. The restaurant wasn't full, yet it took a very long time for our entrees to appear. The food was all good to excellent. We all had different dishes. My friend said the home made pasta and shrimp was the best she ever tasted. I had the Chicken Rollatini which came with vegetables and rice pilaf. I asked for no rice and extra vegetables which they did. Lots of extra vegetables which I liked and they were cooked to perfection. Figuring that the kitchen had an off night as far as the slow service, we would definitely give them another try. My only other complaint was that it was a little noisy. My wife and I had dinner here a few weeks ago. The service was great and the staff were very attentive. We had our daughter's Baptismal Party here this weekend. 50 plus guests and not a single complaint. Try the flat iron steak it's awesome. I can only rave about Savor. We had a small party (30 people) in their private dining room. The owner was gracious, accommodating, and kind. The service was terrific and attentive. The appetizers were really good (eggplant stack - WOW!), and it was a tasty little sample of the food they serve there. I have had dinner there in the past and it's yummy. This party sealed my love of Savor. All around, it's a lovely and good food restaurant to spend time & money in. read more

I was here with a friend about a week and a half ago for lunch. We sat outside; very nice atmosphere. However, our waiter was very inattentive. He walked past us several times before stopping to check on us, and was not very polite when he did stop at our table. Service was extremely slow. We had to wait for a long time for our food. My friend also found a small hair in her food while she was eating (eyelash hair maybe). When our waiter eventually showed up and we pointed out the issue to him, his attitude turned even more sour. While he offered to get her a new dish, he never apologized. We were turned off by the food at this point, and we asked to speak to the manager. The owner comes out, and gives us the very same sour attitude as the waiter did. He explained that everyone in his kitchen wears hair nets and it was basically impossible for it to have been their fault, meanwhile looking at us as if it was our fault. The owner never apologized either. They did take her plate off the bill at least. While yes, it certainly is possible for the waiter to have had a bad day; I find it inexcusable for the owner of a restaurant to also have such poor customer service. All we were looking for was an apology and for them to show a tiny bit of remorse. All we received instead was bad attitudes. Neither one of us will be trying this place again. A shame, because the roasted pear salad with grilled chicken that we each had was actually very good. read more

Okay so we live in Cherry Hill, so this was over an hour drive for us.... I had a Groupon for this place from 2013.... Unfortunately I didn't get to use it before it expired so I ended up with the $25 credit which was my purchase amount. Groupon says that any deal bought, if it expires, will be honored FOREVER for the amount purchased. I was told from the hostess that NJ law states they don't have to honor them after 2015.... ??? I plan on calling Groupon, too, to tell them about this.... Anyway, the ambiance was nice up until they seated an older couple with two small, LOUD children only two tables away... THERE WAS NO ONE ELSE IN THE PLACE... There was a whole other side that they could've been sat in. It's not a place for kids. The food was below average... We had the coconut shrimp and spinach appetizer first. It was okay, the shrimp seemed like it was frozen. Then I ordered the asparagus soup... it was so hot that it took me fifteen minutes to cool it down... Like, ridiculously hot and had little flavor... I added oyster crackers and butter to it to get some taste! For the entree, my husband had the shrimp scampi, which he thought was okay except for the shrimp being way overcooked, and I had the special: farfalle pasta with scallops, shrimp and asparagus.... They boasted online about the homemade pasta which is the reason we decided to go here. The shrimp was overcooked and the pasta was a pile of mush. I pushed all the pasta aside and took home the small amount seafood. I normally don't complain about my meal but for $30, it was awful.... I let the waiter know I was very disappointed, they didn't seem to care. They didn't give me any kind of credit or even offer me a new dish.... We were extremely disappointed.... Or maybe we are just snobby foodies..... We will never go here again. read more

I first visited Savor for lunch. We ordered appetizers the eggplant stack and spicy shrimp. Everything was yummy! It was so delightful I returned for dinner one evening with family and friends. This time I experienced the artichokes heart franchise incredible! And I couldn't resist the eggplant stack again. My entree was stuffed chicken with prosciutto and cheese delicious! The staff was very attentive and courteous. This is a perfect place for a gathering with friends and family. My next trip to NJ I plan to enjoy the al fresco dining. I am definitely a fan! read more

Hosted my sister's baby shower at Savor, and what a day we had! Rob and Lisa were great to work with- so kind and accommodating, and quick to answer phone calls and emails. The staff was amazing the day-of and they worked hard and moved quick. BYO venue, we were able to provide our own wine which helped save a ton of money! Had 53 guests plus several extra tables for gifts and activities, and their large room held us with enough room. Food was great, guests were raving about it. My personal favorite 2 dishes- salmon and vodka rigatoni. Love Savor and would recommend to everyone. read more

Savor is the perfect name for this new restaurant. I have been there three times and have thorough enjoyed both the ambiance of the al fresco dining and the delicious food. The artichoke heart francaise and eggplant tower appetizers are delicious and the portions are very generous. I've also had as entrees the mushroom ravioli and the salmon, again delicious and generous portions that I could not finish. I look forward to trying the lamb chops on my next visit. The owner and staff at Savor are true professionals, attentive to their customers and make your visit enjoyable. If you want to linger after dinner, you do not feel rushed. My wife and I were hesitant to try Savor because my in-laws had a terrible experience there. They ordered appetizers and they came after 20 minutes,however over one hour later their entrees had not arrived so they paid and left without trying their meals. The reviews are good so my wife and I decided to give them a chance. we ordered appetizers and they came out very quickly and the garlic shrimp was very good. We ordered our apps and entrees together as not to delay our meal because we had a babysitter for a short time only. After 45 of waiting and continued reassurances from our waiter that "he didn't forget our order" our entrees finally arrived. I ordered the strip steak with a peppercorn sauce and my wife ordered the sea-bass in a lemon sauce. her meal was satisfactory, nothing special. My steak was atrocious. It was cold ,the sauce was terrible and was as tough as a shoe. The highlight were the veggies that accompanied the steak. Terrible service and mediocre entrees. Fabulous restaurant! Great food and service. The pasta always tastes freshly made. We love it here.

I have been here twice so far and have enjoyed both experiences. My first visit was with a party of 6 and I had the two lobster tails. Very good. My second visit was with a party of 4 and I had the crab cake meal. VERY good. The crab cake has very little filling and the mustard aoli that comes with it is incredibly tasty. Deserts are pretty good, we have done the peanut butter as well as the chocolate mousse cakes and have been pleased both times. This is also a BYO joint so come prepared, or you can walk a short way down the block to Discover Wines, which is fairly reasonable in price. Keep in mind that this is sort of the new Scampi's that used to be at the end of downtown Somerville. New feel, new menu, more variety other than seafood like the other restaurant, but it is owned by the same people. It's not the best, but it is a very good choice for a nicer meal in Somerville. I am giving it 4 stars only because the buffalo shrimp app was a bit overcooked - and it was not the first time I had it, so this last trip it missed the mark. And it is spicy, so if you don't love spice, don't try it. read more

I am sitting still at Savor. We are waiting for coffee and dessert. The main courses were excellent. The diver scallops were unbelievablly tender and tasty. Charming little place in Somerville. Outdoor seating is small, but great atmosphere. BYOB. Maitre d very nice, but our waiter disappeared for awhile. Garlic shrimp app was excellent. Zuppa a di pesce was awful. Sandy mussels and clams; tough clams; overcooked shrimp, all served over over-cooked mushy pasta. My husband and I ate here after a friend recommended this BYOB. The staff was friendly and quite attentive. My husband ordered the minestrone soup, it was loaded with veggies, very tasty and piping hot! I ordered the duck breast dinner, it was slightly overdone and the skin was not very crispy. I attended a baby shower in the side room at Savor and it was wonderful. The service was exceptional and the food was tasty. The room was perfect for a long table of 25 people. Our server handled the three courses well - great pacing - and did not bother us or make a racket during the cheesy games and gift opening. My family insisted on coming here tonight and I was wary because of the yelp score. My mom and her boyfriend had been here twice before and they didn't have anything bad to say so we went. Our server was super attentive. I got the stuffed chicken and it was great. My sister, mother, and her bf all enjoyed their meals. The food was good but seemed a little overpriced for what it was. What a great place! The owner Robert and his staff provided excellent service from start to finish. The ambiance was warm and comfortable. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. I personally had the spicy shrimp and had sampled the bacon steak and eggplant stack and all was delicious and creative. I have had the scallops here twice now and they were consistently great both times. I had the apple cheesecake, but also had a taste of the tiramisu. Both were excellent. My wife and I have been extremely pleased with the food and service. Since the new restaurant opened, we have enjoyed both lunches and dinners. For appetizers ,we have tried the eggplant stack and the artichoke francaise which were great starters. One of our favorites so far has been the pork chop dinner which was a large portion cooked perfectly for us both. Fantasic and delicious! Went with my wife and friends last night so we got to sample 8 different appetizers and wide selection of the entrees. The antipasta was the freshest I've enjoyed in a restaurant. Several creative and delicious dishes, particularly the scallops, sausage and tarfelle and the eggplant stack appetizer. Took my wife and son to Savor for lunch on a weekday. Outside seating is shaded by umbrellas. Interior is very pleasant and very clean. Service was excellent. I had the chicken Scarpariello with garlic-wine sauce, veggies and rice. Delicious and portion was generous. Wife had farfalle with sausage and liked it also. Pastas made on premises. Prices are very reasonable. Menu is Italian focused, with more variety than many local places which are glorified pizzerias. One of the best I have visited in Somerville. Recommended! read more

Ordered mussels in wine sauce. At least one third of the shells were empty. They were not in the bowl either. Two of the people I was with ordered the rack of lamb. The lamb was tough and fatty. The lamb was served about 15 minutes before the other two dishes came out of the kitchen. The other dishes were lukewarm. The excuse was, the chef was busy with other dishes. The restaurant was not overly crowded. Will not go back again. I don't like watching the other people in my party eat when there is no food in front of me. There is no excuse for not bringing out all orders at the same time. read more
