This is enough to keep me from coming back. I see that other reviews also mention this and I'm sure people frequently have issues with over cooking here so it should be addressed but obviously is not. I will say that both of the omelet's we had tasted good and my sliced tomatoes that I got instead of potatoes were nice, fresh and thickly sliced. The toast was the tiny slice's of generic grocery store bread. Older clientel, I'm sure due to the numerous mobile home parks right behind this place. Cute family restaurant! We had breakfast here while on vacation. Great food and super friendly staff! My husband ordered the eggs Benedict which he said were delicious. He had home fries with it which you can choose chopped or shredded. Both of my kids ordered French toast with bacon and cleaned their plates. The food is most definitely not made from scratch. Well at least not all of it. I ordered biscuits and gravy and the gravy had the consistency and taste of powdered gravy from a packet with a few pieces of sliced breakfast sausage links thrown in and the biscuits are flat and dense. I also ordered a side of corned beef hash which was also obviously from a can. When your website specifically says " We are proud to say all our dishes are made with fresh, authentic ingredients," I'd say as a paying customer you are obligated to actually use fresh ingredients in your dishes and not ingredients freshly opened from a can or freezer bag. P.S. My coworker also ordered at the same time and received rubbery pancakes and the consistency of the home fries led us to believe they are boiled prior to being griddle fried. read more

I had a late breakfast last week at Savory and ordered Eggs Benedict. Before ordering, I asked the waitress if the hollandaise sauce was made in house or canned. She assured me that it was made from scratch. When breakfast arrived, the "poached" egg was luke warm and almost hard instead of runny;which I expect of a poached egg. Restaurants often "pre-poach" a few eggs if they are busy and then dip them back in hot water to warm them up. This egg had obviously been sitting around for a while under a warmer. The English muffin was cold and un-toasted. I'm not sure the Canadian bacon was actually real Canadian bacon (probably just a slice of ham), although there was a nice thick slab or it. And worst of all, the hollandaise was canned or made from a dried mix (jut add water-yuck). I worked in the restaurant business for many years as a chef and have made hollandaise sauce from scratch, many times at home and in a restaurant setting. There is even a way to make a batch without it curdling or breaking. I can tell the difference. Even the best canned sauce has an under taste. When the waitress came back I told her that I didn't think the sauce was made from scratch. Immediately she shot back, "Yes it is!" and stalked off, obviously miffed. She came back and threw the check on the table; signaling that any further service from her was not to be forthcoming. I had to beg another cup of coffee from another waitress. Additionally, where I was seated, there was a TV blaring on a high shelf. They turned the sound down, but I could still hear it--not the type of thing I want to listen to in a breakfast. At the very least, you'd think they'd play muzak as background noise, not some sports program or Bay News 9. The fact that the meal was bad, coupled with the blond waitress' inattentiveness and argumentative nature, make me not want to come back to try any of their other fare. And, I thought for what I got, the price of breakfast was a little high. I won't be returning and give this place 2 thumbs down, sorry to say. I eat out often and they will not be getting my return business. And given the server's attitude, I doubt they'll even care or miss it. A general complaint against many restaurants: I often eat alone when I go out, my only company being a book or newspaper. I like it that way. I enjoy my own company, but there are times when I want solitude My gripe is that when you come in alone, whether the place is busy or not, some restaurants will seat you in the worst location; near the kitchen or restrooms or the entrance to the business. It doesn't matter if there are plenty of other tables--for more than 2 people, you'll get seated at a tiny table with not room to put a book or newspaper. If you're a restaurant owner, maitre d', or host/hostess, please have some consideration for single diners. Many of us eat alone by choice. read more

We stopped by here at 3:00 PM on a Saturday...that lull time restaurants have right before the dinner rush starts. We were greeted promptly and offered indoor or outdoor seating of our choice. We chose the patio and were the only ones out there. Our server was friendly and helpful. I had the Greek Salad and my husband had a burger. Both were good and met expectations. I am on a diet that requires me to weigh and measure my foods and our waitress was very accommodating to help me with this. We sat outside on the patio after a day at the beach - easy and casual stop on our way home. As we left about 4:15 or so, several cars of seniors pulled in and a line was forming at the door, presumably for their early dinner specials. My wife and I met four relatives for lunch for our monthly get-together, and we all really enjoyed our meal at the Savory Restaurant. From the start, the service was just perfect. Everyone is friendly, helpful and keeps the atmosphere bright, happy and moving. We started off with the BBQ Bacado Chips, which are thin potatoes fried & topped with bacon bits, melted cheese, BBQ sauce and avocado sauce. Very good! My Gyro was excellent and my wife loved her Grilled Chicken Pit and Greek salad combo. The rest of the entrees ordered by the others were all hits too. No doubt, we'll be back! read more

A savory pastry filled with chopped spinach, feta cheese, onions and seasoning. Large, packed with flavor. Enough for two meals. Also ordered traditional Gyro for Hubby. Came with amazing tasting sweet potato fries. Loved them. He wasn't too crazy about Gyro. Ate half. He liked the potato salad though. Will go back to try other dishes. Prices are moderate. Amazing! I eat here weekly! The staff is fun and great and the atmosphere is nice. The Patio with lights are gorgeous! The omelettes are nice and fluffy. Their buffalo chicken salad and wrap is to die for which is not expected usually of a Greek place- I just love the crispiness of the chicken with the tender meat inside. The owner to not care to make an adjustment for this . There was a crazy amount of cheese and so much sauce that it could not be picked up like a sandwich. The flavor was pretty good. My wife had the gyro platter. Only the exposed half of the gyro had onions and tomatoes. Again, the flavor was pretty good. The potato salad was also Fair. The Savory Restaurant was suggested by friends and we went with them in a party of eight. The atmosphere was friendly and the service was good. Each of us enjoyed the dish that we had ordered and left very pleased with the entire experience. I have returned multiple times since and have always been very happy with the experience. My favorite Italian dish is sausage and peppers. It wasn't on the menu. But I inquired and they made it for me. It was supremely delicious! Now that's wonderful service! My husband and I eat here at least twice a week. Easy take out with pick up window. The Chicken Parm is fantastic and a large serving. I love the catfish with rice and mixed veggies.
