The interior was surprisingly large and nice (table cloths, flowers, glasswear.) The Bollywood (rap/rock) music videos on the TVs seemed a little out of sorts with the nicer ambiance, but it was easy to ignore the TVs. Service was extremely pleasant & efficient. We had the samosa appetizer, garlic naan, hubs had the chicken tikka and I had the tandoori veg momos. Aromas & flavors on everything was very nice. They also have a $16.99 lunch buffet that we are eager to come back & try. #yum #ReviewsByRL

One of the horrible experiences we had in an Indian restaurant. Maybe it was because we chose…read moreSunday dinner when the whole staff was on leave and probably the top chefs were not available. It's a learning experience. Four of us tried Punjabi Tadka after looking at the review. We ordered Chicken Soup, Soya Chaap, Tandoori Shrimp as Appetizers. Good thing they gave us the soup completely bland without any salt, pepper and I liked the idea as the guests can season it as per their need. 07 out of 10 Soya chaap was hard, lacked flavour and the chutneys served didn't help enhance it either. 04 out of 10 Tandoori Shrimp was basically shrimp covered in tandoor masala and cooked on a pan. The onions and green peppers served were soggy with the masala. Highly disappointing but we expected better from the Main course. 03 out of 10 Main course we ordered garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, and chicken noodles to begin with. Chicken noodle was mostly spaghetti in marinara sauce with chunks of chicken. We couldn't eat after 1 - 2 spoons. We had to return it. 01 out of 10 Naan was fluffy and the best of the dishes we tried at Punjabi tadka, 09 out of 10. Chicken tikka masala was just a very sweet tomato gravy that made us somehow finish the naan 03 out of 10. Apart from the food though the staff was polite but he lacked common etiquettes. After appetizers and before the main course, he would bring the larger plates to the table without even cleaning the table. We had to ask him to clean the table while we held the plates. We had to find the person to fill in the water bottle and the bottles were not very user friendly. The bill was around 90 USD without the noodle which is fair for a team of 4 but the quality of dishes were not up to the mark. Again I hope it was due to Sunday evening staff crunch.

On top of being a great value for the amount of food the dishes were very flavorful and the staff…read morewere very kind. Food: I could've gone spicier but the mild dishes still packed the flavor you'd expect of Indian cuisine. The Gohbi Manchurian was a great appetizer that you couldn't stop eating even when it started to fill you up. The non-vegetarian Thali was also a great way to taste a variety of dishes. My only wish would be to have different curry bases for the lamb, chicken and daal. Service: The waiter gave great recommendations and helped us have a pleasure meal with attentive but non-disruptive check ins. Atmosphere: The decor and lighting makes things cozy, but it was pretty standard for an Indian restaurant.

She has never had Indian, so we picked G1 Indian at 49th & College in Broad Ripple - which was a new place for both of us. The waiter was wonderful in explaining the different foods to her. We had the fried cauliflower for an appetizer. She had the Thali -- a traditional Indian meal served with tandoori chicken, lamb curry, dal, rice, raita, naan, and kheer (dessert). I had the Chloe Batura lunch special (chana masala = spicy chick peas, and deep friend bread). And, we both had leftovers for later. It was a #yum #ReviewsByRL

I recently tried Desi Chowrastha Indian Eatery in Zionsville and wow... this place absolutely…read moredelivered From the moment I walked in, I could feel the warm, vibrant energy--like a little slice of India right here in Indiana. I also love supporting spots like this--it's locally owned by a Hamilton County family, which makes it even better Everything is made fresh daily using authentic cooking methods, and you can truly taste it in every bite. I started with the jalapeño paneer appetizer--creamy, spicy, crispy... honestly addictive. We had the lamb vindaloo and the butter chicken--bold, rich, and perfectly balanced. The vindaloo brought the heat in the best way, and the butter chicken was smooth, comforting, and full of flavor. I love that the menu pulls inspiration from all over India, with tons of options (including vegan), and everything comes out hot and fresh. They're open Tuesday-Sunday 10:30 AM-10 PM with a lunch buffet, full menu, and full bar. The dining area is very nicely decorated and very inviting. We were quickly greeted and the waitress answered any questions we had. I did feel that she was trying to hurry us to order though. We ordered a couple appetizers and a couple meals so that we could share everything. I can't decide which was my favorite because everything was a solid 10. The only thing I would say is not a positive, the waitress asked us to tip in cash. I understand the reason, but its odd to be requested that. We will definietly be back soon despite that.
