Delicious food truck! Came here opening weekend and have been back so many times since! Located right next to Kalama Village in Kihei, this truck is so tasty and authentic. Plenty of parking all around. Come try their noodles! Will be back again and again!

Basil Fried Rice with Chicken

Food: 4 stars Service: 5 stars Ambiance: 3.5 stars Value: 4 stars This is a Thai food cart close to (but not in) the South Maui Gardens food cart pod. I tried the basil fried rice with chicken - which was very good. Wish that they would offer a non-seafood tom kha soup, since it's our favorite and my husband can't eat seafood. We will come back to try more of the menu! The value is good for the portion size. Downside is that they don't have any specific seating, but there is seating next to the cart. They also have been sold out of a few items when we've tried stopping by before, so we ended up going elsewhere.

Everything was so good! Recommend the lobster fried rice . It's a food truck area and there are lots of places to sit

Lobster roll with sweet potato fries. Perfection

I ordered the lobster roll with sweet potato fries and liked it so much, I came back again and ordered the very same thing. It was even better the second time. Both times were amazing. I am difficult to please when it comes to my lobster rolls and their lobster roll is up there with the best that I have ever had. Very good and tasty. And the sweet potatoes were cooked perfectly. Nice and crispy, not greasy or soggy. I love the dipping sauce, also. Owners/operators were all super kind and friendly. I highly recommend giving the lobster roll a try. And when it drips down your hands, that's when you know it's good.

Pad see ew & pad Thai

This place surpassed my expectations. The Thai food here was probably one of the best I've had in my entire life. I tried the pad Thai and pad see ew and both were amazing, packed with a bunch of flavors. The noodles were super fresh and had a nice chew. Portions are definitely sharable, we were able to eat half the next day. So good that me and my boyfriend had to come back before we left maui. Service is super nice as well. Food might take a bit long but it's sooo worth the wait. Definitely a must when you are in maui.

Chicken Pad Thai

I ordered the chicken pad thai. It was great! Very tasty. Total was $16. She asked if I wanted it spicy, and what number from 1-5. I told her 3.6/4. The owner was friendly and nice & even walked my food to my table. Definitely could have added more spice, but she thoughtfully added a little pile of chili pepper to the side of my dish, so I was able to mix in more to kick up the heat.

Lobster roll and fried rice were well made. A bit too much celery in the lobster roll but for the price, it was fair.

He explained that he made the specials of the day while the regular menu was made inside the food truck. We were too full however tempted, and decided to go watch the sunset. But afterwards we wandered back to share a dish, and settled upon the beef special since we hadn't had any all trip. We had the smoked maminha tri-tip steak, Okinawa purple sweet potato, grilled maui onion and broccolini. Beautifully plated on real plates and silverware. No comparison to the so many common $21 food truck entrees and cost just a little more. The owner also is very sociable and enjoys talking about this food in a variety of languages with passers by and customers. On the far end from main entrance to the Kihei Food Oasis, or right at the other entrance, depending on how you enter. I wish we had found it earlier or we would have eaten there more than once!

Frank B has dined & approved of this Thai Food truck in Kihei due to orgazmic dining experience served up in a bowl. YES folks I LOVE Thai Mee Up's culinary delights so much I've stopped counting I make my way to the truck. First off the truck itself looks clean & regal especially with the giant elephant located on the roof. It looks clean , smells clean and with the giant plasma TV's show you what's about to be served you'll feel safe about your choices. Simple order process and then after 10 mins your order is called out and ready for pick. Every dish I've dined on has its own taste signature and is rapturous to the body.. My top food choices is Garlic Shrimp ,Pad Thai with Shrimp and Ribeye & Lobster. Needless to say all items are sensational for the tastes buds and the costs are extremity priced out well for your budget. Come on and try a BIG BUDGET TASTE for a low budget cost.. I had the pad see ew and it was decent, but nothing to write home about. Perhaps I got the wrong dish. I would be willing to come back and try other items next time I'm in town, based on reviews. Maybe the shrimp, crispy pork or pad thai would be more memorable.

We went all in on the pork belly (no regrets ) and ordered the pork belly fried rice and the garlic noodles with pork belly. Both dishes were packed with flavor and super satisfying. The pork belly on the garlic noodles had that perfect crispy edge with a tender, melt-in-your-mouth center--easily the highlight. We went on a Sunday night, and the place had a fun, lively vibe. There are tables available, but it does get busy, so come with a little patience. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

The menu photo shows thick pieces of ono, and that's how they've always been served in the past. This time, the fish was paper thin and barely filled the bun. It definitely wasn't worth the price. I politely asked why the ono was so thin, and I was told, "They're sliders, that's why they're thin." I explained that I've ordered these many times before and they've never looked like this, but my concern was dismissed. I understand portions can vary, but this was a drastic difference from what I've received before. Loyal customers notice when quality and portions change. Unfortunately, after this experience, I won't be returning.

The truck itself is fun, painted with bright tropical colors and scenes, and they seem to be known for their loaded tots and bao buns. I placed my order on the touchscreen outside and then sat down to wait for my food. For lunch on this day I went with the buffalo chicken tots and the Island Piggy bao. The menu described the bao as kalua pork, BBQ sauce, tropical salsa, and pickled red onions. The buffalo chicken tots were described as buttermilk fried chicken, buffalo sauce, jack cheddar cheese, house made pickles, and ranch dressing. It took less than 10 minutes for my food to be ready and I sat down at one of the shaded picnic tables. When I opened everything up it all looked good, but I did notice that the tots were missing the house made pickles. I started with the bao and thought it was pretty good. The kalua pork was super juicy and the bao bun was light and fluffy while still holding together well. The pickled onions added a nice acidity and the tropical salsa brought good flavor. The only thing I did not notice much was the BBQ sauce. After that I dug into the tots. The tots themselves were cooked nicely with a crispy outside and soft inside. The chicken was good as well with a nice batter and the buffalo sauce added flavor while the cheese was gooey. The only thing worth noting is that the chicken was softer than expected and not very crispy. It worked since I did have the texture from the crispy tots, but it stood out. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I would probably not order both a bao and tots again as it was a lot of food, but I would definitely come back for one or the other.

We came here twice and I got the 3 bao slider combo each time. - The BAO*CHICKA*BAO*BAO was one of my favorite sandwiches. - My second favorite was the ISLAND PIGGY. I got this both times. - the LITTLE PIGGY was good, but a little overhyped in my opinion. But good to try. - the DUCK DUCK GOAT was wildly disappointing. As you can see in the picture, all meat and almost nothing else. Maybe a few silvers of cabbage. But where's the goat cheese and the fig jam?!? We also got the ALOHA TOTS. Huge portion so that was nice. But the kalua pork was pretty watery and made the crispy tots go soggy pretty fast. Overall a solid spot. Definitely worth trying at least once.

They have lots of things, though. There was a yoga session happening in the middle lawn area. They have a butterfly area, even though the butterflies were somewhere else. There is an aging tortoise, I forget his name. There are also different businesses in the buildings, like a spa and a salon. There are different small vendors with their booths and several food trucks; although, some were not open in the morning and the Thai food truck had all their items sold out on their menu already. The prices were even more pricier than the food trucks at Maui Food Trucks. One vendor had hand crafted desserts for $20/piece! I admired from afar, haha. Everything is advertised as "farm to table" maybe justifying their prices. We shared an acai bowl and it was mid. The the peanut butter was just scraped on the side of the bowl. Our typical acai bowls at least put the peanut/almond butter in the middle like any other topping so you can get an even bite with everything. But the dallop of peanut butter just on the side, it was like we ordered peanut butter on the side of our acai bowl. It was weird. I bet it's more alive at night with more food trucks open and live music. We came and saw and didn't come back. I can see how it can be great for families with toddlers running around, giving them a safe space to burn their energy. Until then, this probably won't be the top of our list.
