Delicious food truck! Came here opening weekend and have been back so many times since! Located right next to Kalama Village in Kihei, this truck is so tasty and authentic. Plenty of parking all around. Come try their noodles! Will be back again and again!

Food: 4 stars Service: 5 stars Ambiance: 3.5 stars Value: 4 stars This is a Thai food cart close to (but not in) the South Maui Gardens food cart pod. I tried the basil fried rice with chicken - which was very good. Wish that they would offer a non-seafood tom kha soup, since it's our favorite and my husband can't eat seafood. We will come back to try more of the menu! The value is good for the portion size. Downside is that they don't have any specific seating, but there is seating next to the cart. They also have been sold out of a few items when we've tried stopping by before, so we ended up going elsewhere.

Pad see ew & pad Thai

This place surpassed my expectations. The Thai food here was probably one of the best I've had in my entire life. I tried the pad Thai and pad see ew and both were amazing, packed with a bunch of flavors. The noodles were super fresh and had a nice chew. Portions are definitely sharable, we were able to eat half the next day. So good that me and my boyfriend had to come back before we left maui. Service is super nice as well. Food might take a bit long but it's sooo worth the wait. Definitely a must when you are in maui.

I ordered the chicken pad thai. It was great! Very tasty. Total was $16. She asked if I wanted it spicy, and what number from 1-5. I told her 3.6/4. The owner was friendly and nice & even walked my food to my table. Definitely could have added more spice, but she thoughtfully added a little pile of chili pepper to the side of my dish, so I was able to mix in more to kick up the heat.

Lobster roll with sweet potato fries. Perfection

I ordered the lobster roll with sweet potato fries and liked it so much, I came back again and ordered the very same thing. It was even better the second time. Both times were amazing. I am difficult to please when it comes to my lobster rolls and their lobster roll is up there with the best that I have ever had. Very good and tasty. And the sweet potatoes were cooked perfectly. Nice and crispy, not greasy or soggy. I love the dipping sauce, also. Owners/operators were all super kind and friendly. I highly recommend giving the lobster roll a try. And when it drips down your hands, that's when you know it's good.

    Menu outside of da truck.

Uncertain of what to eat, we walked up to Sawasdee food truck and "game to just try it." Hubby had the Panang Curry with braised short rib and extra spicy. Wife had the Hea Mao with chicken. DA BEST! Flavorful and savory with generous portions of chicken and rib. Hubby enjoyed the extra spices with a large amount of rice. The Hea Mao was some of the most flavorful noodle dish consumed in a long while. Absolutely recommend this truck for anyone in need of a true Thai fix. Sorry that additional photos weren't taken, we were so hungry, well...forgot. but worth the adventure to just try it!! Mahalo!

I had Thai-Railway Fried Rice, which has diced, cooked NY steak chunks, in a bed of brown rice, as well as peas, carrots, scallions, Maui onions (yum!), with an egg over easy on top, with toasted onions. I dialed the spicyness at "medium". It was *perfect*! My wife had Pad Thai with chicken, and she left it at the default spicyness (medium), which ended up being too hot for her, but she soldiered on nevertheless enjoying the wonderful flavor. Perhaps because of the noodles and curry, the spiciness of the Pad Thai seemed much stronger than the Thai-Railway fried rice dish. Of course, we had leftovers and I'll probably end up eating hers, and she'll eat mine. The service was prompt, and the girl waiting on the tables was courteous, with a beautiful smile. The restaurant is deceptively roomy, seeming to be smaller from the outside, but once inside, it was quiet, clean, with comfortable chairs, clean tables, and large windows to enjoy some of Kihei's views (like today's gentle rain). As with most things these day on Maui, where everything comes in a shipping container, food costs are very noticable. Our meal, including thai ice tea and a soda, with a coconut ice-cream to finish it was about $44/person. Not cheap, but also not as bad as, say, Tommy Bahamas.

Noodles and Rice is located in Kihei. There is plenty of parking (free). There is a single-room bathroom for customers. Super clean! The restaurant is impeccably tidy. There was not a speck of dust or a single water stain in sight. Well done! Plenty of seating inside. Very inviting, cozy space. Perfect for late night noodles (and rice)! The staff were extraordinary friendly and kind. The pho was delicious! The Thai chili oil is quite spicy, but tasty too. I wish we were hungrier because their appetizers look good. RESERVATIONS: Not needed. PARKING: Free & plentiful. MENU: Vietnamese apps, noodle & rice selections, desserts. FOOD: Crispy Tiger Shrimp (4 pcs.) Sizable, peeled shrimp that needed to be cooked more as they visually and texturally tasted a tad rare. The coating was light and crispy but needed more seasoning as they relied on the included dipping sauce for flavor. Lettuce Wrap Romaine innards provided for the perfect vessel for the ground chicken, though the poultry needed a serious flavor oomph. Special Pho The pictures, especially the dark-hued broth, looked so good, I had to try it. This was my first ever beef pho and it was very disappointing. First off, the broth was not hot, a serious flaw for me. Secondly, the flavor was very subtle. I did enjoy the tender slices of meat, especially the meatballs. I wished my carb overload didn't go to waste, but it did. SERVICE: Greeting was immediate and welcoming. Food delivery was quick. Wait staff were friendly but there was no follow up. TIP: There's an automatic gratuity for kitchen staff and a surcharge for using credit cards. OVERALL: Meh.

The menu photo shows thick pieces of ono, and that's how they've always been served in the past. This time, the fish was paper thin and barely filled the bun. It definitely wasn't worth the price. The menu has all the familiar Thai favorites, but also dishes that are hard to come by in the States. We tried quite a few things, and everything was excellent. Our favorites were the Spicy Basil (pad krapow) and Mom's Sausage (sai oua). The pad krapow comes with ground meat, as it should, and has that savory, spicy, fragrant flavor I look for. Mom's Sausage is incredibly flavorful and definitely worth ordering. The Pad Mama is another standout. It's a simple Thai comfort dish made with instant noodles, but they do it perfectly. And don't skip the mango sticky rice! The sticky rice was warm, soft, and pillowy, and the mango was perfectly ripe. Everyone here is super friendly too. The interior is cute, creative, and full of little details that show how much thought went into the place. They even play Thai country music in the background. One tip for first-timers: when you arrive, grab a menu from the check-in spot outside the restaurant, to the left of the dining area. Then head into the dining area and they'll seat you. You order through the QR code at your table and pay + tip when you place your order. Food is served in paper takeout containers. I'd definitely come back the next time I'm in Maui!

I wish their menu was more accurate or if that's the case, note that the fish could be substituted because what we ordered versus what we got, are definitely 2 different things. I know what tilapia costs versus pompano and if you're going to charge me $30 for fish, I would expect to get what I ordered. I messaged them through their social media since their phone doesn't work so hopefully they respond and do the right thing. We've been loyal customers and this isn't cool.
